      Well, just to let you know about my experience. It was kinda a rough ride around town with all the pot holes. On the highway it was great. But since I ride in town alot it was irritating. So I ended up installing a set of DK Custom Nex gen 13” Triglide shocks for the rear. $1000. But the ride is 100 time better. The difference between night and day. I was seriously considering selling the bike. But after I installed the shocks, it is so nice now. I just thought I would throw that in at you.

    I just got the Harley Tri Glide, 2020, with 5k miles. Turning takes time to get used to. I ordered a Coolflow Fan, and the Panhard Rod, which keeps the bike from lifting a rear wheel on a turn. I take turns easy, however I wanted this extra sturdiness just in case.

That can be very dangerous. I have 26,000 on my bike now and I have not had any issues. The bike engine is totally stock. I have not done anything to it. The cool flow fan is nice to have. Also the trike midstep, which is very expensive, is worth it. I ended up discarding the OEM rear shocks and replacing them with DK custom 13 inch trig glide shocks. You sir I feel are the epitome of a man that has the attention to detail through and through you. There doesn't seem to be anything that you haven't thought of in regards to making your ride as comfortable and efficient as is possible. Right down to using some glue on some straps so that they don't flap around in the wind and put some microscopic scratches on your bikes paint. Some people might think that is being a bit anal but I'm not that some people and I'm impressed with your acute attention to detail. If I were to guess I would say that this very likely extends to other areas of your life. I'm an older fellow that has never owned a motorcycle or trike but have always been fascinated but guys like you that take something they like to do and then do it the right way. I don't have many regrets in life but one I do have is that I wish I would have saw the beautiful freedom of hitting the open road on something like what you have shown me here in your video. I grew up in northeast British Columbia where not a lot of people are into motorcycles and everything that come with owning one. I think it was probably because of the short summer season we had as well as the fact that I had so many other things on the go that my leisure time was taken up with other interests. Now as a 66 year old semi-retired guy with more time on my hands it might sound a bit crazy to some people but I am entertaining the idea of buying either a motorcycle or something with 3 wheels to get out a see a bit more of the beautiful country of Canada. Your video has served as an inspiration that it can be done reasonably comfortably if one is willing to spend the money to do it as I'm sure your beautiful toy is not something that has come cheaply to you. I probably won't go to the extent that you have in equipping your trike but a little at a time I should be able to have something that will give me a lot of enjoyment as I explore places and things that have been put on hold for too long. I decided that you seem to be the type of guy that I can learn from as I get into this new adventure so I have subscribed to your channel with the hope of soon being out and about on a toy of my own. Thank you for your well thought out and very informative video as I look forward to seeing more of them. I noticed that you had a Washington state licence plate and I live in Vancouver BC so we are practically neighbours and will quite likely be down your way in the not to distant future as I have a sister that lives in your beautiful state. Take care and thanks again. 🏍☮✌

I don’t know how much more I will be riding. The Triglides ride relatively rough because the shocks are not very good. I ended up getting new shocks this year and it made a world of difference in comfort. I normally just ride around town now here in Spokane. In the past I have just rode around Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and western Montana. That’s all the further I’ve been, but it was a lot of fun the past few years. I briefly have been in Canada a few times during my travels. Life seems to be winding down for me now a lot of lless enjoyable things in life. I enjoy making videos. I also enjoy motorcycle riding.

Congratulations on your new purchase of your Triglide. Took me about 1300 miles to get used to a trike. I should have done it 10 years ago. As you saw in the video I also put Jim‘s force flow fan on and that really helps keep the engine cool on the hot days and provided more relief from heat on the leg. I also had trouble with the Bluetooth phone connections. I don’t recall exactly what discouraged me but it was mild enough to convince me to go a different route. Or, maybe it was just me not being able to put it all together to make it work right. I spent quite a bit of time trying to perfect it. It seems there are other riders out there that have the Sena freewire that are perfectly happy. So that makes me think that maybe it was all my fault. We have rough roads here in Spokane. She did not like the ride at first. After fine-tuning the rear suspension her attitude slowly changed. I did a video on the suspension. In the video I left the tire pressure at 26 pounds in the rear tires. I have since lowered them to 20 as I have discovered some new information since that video was out. The suspension is fine for the rider. But the passenger ride is really rough If you don’t fine tune suspension for the passenger. There are other ways to make the Passengers ride more comfortable, usually involves putting new shocks on the rear at a high cost. Have not done it to my bike but it has crossed my mind a few times. But I have already dumped enough money into accessories on this bike to buy a brand new foreign motorcycle. Anyway overall I would say the rear suspension on the Triglides are rough.

      @windsurfed1  Před 2 lety

      Good morning Mr. Mike The purpose of raising the tank is to get more air to circulate and blow on top of the cylinder heads help cool them down better. As you may find out Harley Davidson‘s engines run a little hot.
      The chairs I got off Amazon for around $55 in the year 2015. They are called”Travelchair Steel Joey Chair,” they are not available on Amazon anymore. But you can find similar chairs, but the price has now skyrocketed.
      Congratulations on the purchase of your new trike. You will customize it to meet your needs, as I did. Again I am excited for you as you start riding your new trike.

It came with the one and one half inch front risers and one half inch spacers for the rear of the tank. The quality of their product was top notch. Being the meticulous person that I am, I noticed the gas gauge was not reading the same as it was before I installed the lift kit. I wanted the lift kit but I also wanted in my gas gauge to read as it did when I first bought the motorcycle.
      So, I purchased a second lift kit from DK custom. This one was a 1 inch kit. It just came with the two front tank riser. I went to the local hardware store and bought 2 spacers to lift the rear of the tank up 1 inch. That leveled my tank back to the OEM level position and my gas gauge reading returned to normal.

Did you install everything and then take the bike for a ride because It needs to roll a little bit down the road before everything begins to work properly. Is the main unit charged up? If the main unit is charging, you’re not getting a reading, most likely the batteries in the TPMS valve cap sensors are dead. Which is unlikely because each brand new. What’s the advantages of a 15’ “touring windshield “ ? …. You’re going to be looking thur it and not over it .

    • @windsurfed1
      @windsurfed1  Před rokem

      Everyone has their own preferences. I did not like the windshield at eye level. (OEM Windshield) I was either lifting my head above it, or ducking below it. The 15 inch "touring windshield" knocks down more wind from reaching you body and totally reduced the buffettiing of my helmet. I'm not bobbing up and down anymore. Much more relaxing for me.
      However, The reflection then showed up in the 15 inch windshield from the center (chrome) gas tank console, gas cap cover,and push button, and ignition switch. It can be rather annoying. So I ended up spending more $$ on a black center gas tank console, gas gap cover, gas cap push button, and ignition cover, all black in color. Now I'm happy.
      Looking thur the windshield is (to me anyway) no worse than looking thru your car windshied. No distortions whatsoever.
