Its all either servitude or oblivion. So unless there's more actual afterlives out there, all those people looking to reunite with their dead loved ones would've been better off roaming the lands as ghosts.

To be fair, a lot of the problems are cause of the Maw causing the drought. And in this ones case, they are doing their job, but they’ve become corrupt themselves and need new management.

The name Denathrius itself is also a hint to a connection to the dreadlords. take the De out of Denathrius, Nathrius, dreadlords are called Nathrezim.

You could even recognize his name as a pun since "de" in some languages means "of" .... so Denathrius means "of nathr" with "ius" being the common suffix to mean "belonging to" ... and the home planet of the Nathrezim was Nathreza. Moreover....the dreadlords sometimes call themselves "the unseen guests" and there are places in Revendreth named the tower of unseen guests.
So, it's basically a country of anima grinding (for Shadowlands?), that consists of vampires, demons, something medial and sinners.

my blood elves are gonna go venthyr. my warlock may go necro tho. my mage is venthyr, dk-necro, im conflicted for my paladin cuz he would go to necro cuz of his backstory and ties to his family, bastion would suit his holy light but the venthyr have class and the tmog can work well with the pala spellbreaker tmog. He also is part of nobility to the parties and stuff will be up his alley. Though now it depends how much edgelordy "morally grey" bitchvanas stuff they make us to do before we wise up to how messed up it is.

Garrosh is so full of pride, will, and anger that he is one of the pillars keeping Revendreth running during the drought. Well this is a guy that took an old god corruption and weaponized it while keeping his own mind. And now his hatred to the denizen only grows which makes his anima stores seemingly bottomless.
It's funny because if a realm like this exists then this means that evil is necessary for the world to function.
If you infuse yourself with an old god. Not just any old god, but the most powerful of them. An old god who's greatest head as Pride, Anger and Hate. Garrosh not only consumed all that power, but didn't get corrupted permanently or lose his mind. If anything he's a walking battery of nearly bottomless energy. That anima will flow for centuries. Let him be milked for all to enjoy. Maybe one day Thrall will pay him a visit to insure his supplies.

I think saying Maldraxxus is the scourge is pretty reductive. They have the same aesthetic but very different cultures and stories.
Ardenweald is also thematically distinct from the Emerald Dream IMO, even though both have to do with nature.
