Thanks for the video emongg and the tips. Reviewing this later made me realise the silly moments and my wasted bubbles which I have noticed I use whenever I am scared of the damage output from people looking at me. Love your content, keep up the great work 👍🏾
Standing behind a wall will often accomplish the same thing as using the bubble. Bubble can be just like your ultimate. When you dive and the enemy team threatens you, putting down a bubble can give you the extra second of Tesla damage you need to secure a support kill before you disengage (or die).
Also, it drives me nuts watching you leap up onto a rooftop when you're chasing someone just to immediately drop down. lol. That big shockwave that comes out when Winston leaps deals like 50 damage to players. Throwing that AoE damage on a rooftop away from their entire team is a waste of the leap ability. If you're going to leap, use it to land on someone, or to disengage to cover--there were a few times I noticed you went for maximum leap range to disengage because you felt threatened but then you had to spend like 3 or 4 seconds walking back to the fight because your team were still there. It's not a bad idea to flick your mouse straight up and leap vertically and then use WASD keys mid-air to aim yourself to the optimal place you can get cover from enemy fire and still be in line of sight for your supports.

@@selfimprovementlabplus While I have noticed improvements in my gameplay from then, I have been a bit busy with my doctoral work recently, so haven't been able to play comp as often, so there hasn't been much change in the rank other than going up the skill tier division by a slight amount. Don't have as many games on me. :( Thanks for asking though :)

18:18 - I thought this wasn't as bad at first until I went back and realized Cass and Bap had just respawned and Soldier killed the last one up. They literally had won and all Winston had to do was stay on point 😂
Oh yeah, in my screen I thought the Torb lava was in front of the cart and felt I was too far to contest cart, so did that jump to safely land on cart and.... that happened 😂
@@user-yh7tw4fp7h Honestly had me rolling. For all of the random bubbles you threw down that game, the ONE TIME you could have used bubble to deflect flying lava, you just panicked and leapt away from the objective. Thank you for the entertaining gameplay.

I like this tank showing initiative and not being afraid of going in. BUT there's a time and place for it and this Winston tends to go in alone to ultimately feed. Use high ground to your advantage - take it, drop down, do damage, jump up when needed, rinse repeat. And bubble needs a lot of improvement. Try using it smarter. Like, for instance, to cut off heals for an Ana. Nothing more frustrating than not being able to heal your team because of a bubble. This Winston has potential though 😊

I feel like spamming cooldowns could also be applied with his right click there he just randomly shot the wall or floor without really aiming unless there is something about Winstons right click i dont know about.

Yeah, I'd say that's the next biggest thing to improve on for this player. Unless you are absolutely getting 0 value, DONT SWAP WHEN YOU ALMOST HAVE ULT, AND CHECK IT BEFORE SWAPPING.
so many times he had the chance to finish someone off and he just didn't. Near the end it almost cost the game because he let flank torb go off and get his ult for some reason.

I feel like, despite Winston’s mechanics being pretty easy to learn, he’s not often a good tank for lower levels as he takes a decent amount of game sense and coordination with the team to work correctly. He’s not like Orisa or Rein where what you should be doing and where you should be standing is pretty apparent.
I feel like this Winston overusing Bubble is like the equivalent of abusing Dva's dm lmao 😭

The Winston in question here. This is the metal ranks, anything works. If I keep switching whenever things aren't favourable to me, I can't learn Winston, especially in Bronze and Silver where Dive heroes not played often and more specifically, Mercy-Moira is the eternally dominant meta in these ranks. I could have gone Sigma or Ram since I am somewhat comfortable with it, but, doesn't allow me to get better at Winston.
@@user-yh7tw4fp7h true the metal ranks are really weird and sure you are right - you cant learn a hero if you are not playing him but still i think switching would work better. gotta learn sigma and ram too yk? and sometimes you just gotta know when to switch.
nothing against you of course! the gameplay was really okay, just a few things that emongg already mentioned. i think you will climb up really quick if you learn the heroes. dont worry about it

There is also 1 thing that this tank player seems do not know about his hero = when winston land after his jump, it deals aoe damage that is use to be combo with melee attack.
Nothing wrong with the Winston's aggression but he needs to know his timing. You can tell he's trying not to feed but ends up feeding. Also he had good jumps.

I’ve been wanting a low rank Winston video for SO long. But my question, if my bubble prevents me from taking 300 damage, and making the support rush to heal me, is that not worth it? Or if my bubble cooldown is back up before it’s needed again? Or is it more like Kiriko Suzu, to be used in specific situations
You're not supposed to do moves that would have you take huge amount of damages.This move would be suicidal for you and very bad for your team.Unless this is a coordinated move,you dive etc and then,you use your bubble or ult.If it is to stay "afk" waiting for your bubble to be destroyed,it is a waste.

I'm upset you didn't check off getting stuck on the map. They hit ceilings and doorways with their jump constantly. It's part of the reason they took so long going back to spawn to swap to Ramattra in round 2.
