  • Part 4 provides an in depth evaluation of common treatments ranging from dietary intervention to prescription medications. Surprisingly diet, exercise and calcium supplements may not be as helpful as most assume. Additionally bisphosphonates including Actonel, Boniva and Fosamax may be overrated.

This guy is brilliant. I've no idea why his videos have so little support. Perhaps it's because of their length and in depth knowledge but for those who are willing to put some effort in then there's a lot to learn from and a hell of a lot to consider. Thank you Dr for your time and effort.

Because many at those age brackets don’t give up alcohol and smoking nor exercise.

Thank you for this information Dr. Landow. I wish I had come across your video prior to accepting an infusion of zoledronic acid (Reclast) five days ago for osteopenia. I researched the drug prior to taking it and didn't find anything alarming, and my doctor said it is well-tolerated. After taking it, the side effects have been a nightmare and now I am stuck with the poison inside my body for an indefinite length of time. I felt great prior to taking this medication and now I feel very ill. I have subsequently found some forums on the internet where people share their same nightmare experience. People, think twice about taking this drug. I hope and pray I do not end up with long-term permanent damage.

Watching your video Dr frightened the life out of me taking alendronic acid …. I refused it and just as well I looked into it more on things you said. Talking about it I discovered from just normal ppl one person she lost nearly of her teeth was in my neighbours Aunts case her teeth were falling out. Rotted her jaw. My mams friend fractured 3 ribs just coughing because her new dr didn’t do meds check when she was on steroids ! She has had other rib fractures since I asked her about the alendronic acid only other day. So now I eat my calcium in and do weights and walk as much as I can now that I don’t run anymore since 2014. I’m 53 now and my last dexa scan was 2.5 2yrs ago I’m having another one soon. Thanks for your knowledge and videos x

I don't want to take alendronate that's what my doctor prescribed me for my osteoporosis I want to treat this the natural way but my doctor said I'm at high risk for a fracture but I'm terrified of the side effects, if we're at high risk for a fracture can we still reverse it naturally without the use of medication?

I am one of those who "does" rather than, as you say "takes" and resolve many issues through lifestyle changes. Why do so many doctors push drugs?

My physio therapist is under the impression that exercise can stabilse and reverse some osteopinea. The idea being that stressing the affected bones with exercise can help encourage osteoblasts. Is there no truth in this?
