Well said sister, prices will be way different based on quality of materials, location of property, size of property, etc. I am building a 45000 square foot two story building in Marshall. Foundation alone cost me $16k, casting of the first floor was the most expensive phase, over $26k. Solid materials and great quality works. Expensive but worth it.

Thanks so much for this video, we just started building in Liberia, starting experience is not good, my husband is still there we spent almost 14.000 and the foundation is not done his time is out,but we did a lot of research, next time,we will do things differently.

Thanks for sharing your honest advice. Many people in third world country over charge people abroad to build a house in Liberia. they think we have money tree. Every one struggling just to make end meets and this is taking place in every country. Thanks my sister.

Don't worry about the roof, upgrade some years ahead during dry season. You probably have split air units already - they work great.

Hi Yahna. My cousin used a very local neighborhood plumber to run water and sewer access in the house. I can’t recommend his work until we put the toilets, sinks and shower in and they are working good. I do have someone that you can contact that will connect you with several local contractors for many different jobs related to building and renovating houses in Liberia. Dolly do you plan on being in Liberia during the building? If not you will need someone to be in charge of your project and work with the builder. My building did not speak English as a first language so my project manager did a lot to manage the process. I would say find someone you trust to oversee your project first then let them find you the right builder/contractors. Get several different quotes before deciding on one person.

Government obligations or what you call it are all public sectors, meaning their informations are made to be public. Hi Jackson. It took us a few years to build our house… about 4 years because we to breaks when we needed to. We did not use a construction company. Our builder is an independent contractor.

Hey, this is very helpful. I'm based in Kenya with a similar project too. My experience has been that the construction is a little 'trickier' in Kenya when a lady is in charge, as opposed to when a man is in charge. There are times when workers/fundis will want to overcharge ladies or generally assume that they do not know a whole lot about it. It's been a learning process.

The house is beautiful, but the roof. For now l think you use it and change it in the near future. There are colourful roofing in the market now.
