Figueiredo really loves just blasting the right hand straight down the pipe, he doesn't even set it up with feints too much. He almost plays a game of chicken with his opponents, trying to gode them into trying to intercept or catch him while he's doing it only to beat them to the punch. It's very odd but very unorthodox and obviously effective.
he has tremendous timing and speed and he does this sort of wobble backwards before he blasts it when you chase him
That and him being so much faster than a lot of BW fighters as well as still having clear power for his size makes him a big threat for a lot of guys. I’m excited to see who they match him up against next. I think Dom Cruz would be interesting!
It's also the nuclear power, people have that slight bit more hesitation because the risk of mistakes is even higher. But a solid assessment

Good job Cory...I have been in plenty of prison fights which is more like war but i enjoy the athletic logistics of where you tap into power punches. I learned kickboxing where my punches need to come back as fast as they go out and turning over my punches last second to generate more power. I really hope to you beating Omalley, I really have a hard time believing his power is as good as ppl think but honestly well find out after Chito and you fight him...if he knocks Chitos ass out well know hes different but i think chito is one of those guys like Max or like Pre Gaethje Ferguson

Giving up your back, particularly while still standing, makes it so much easier to re-establish a strong base, break the hands etc. It also allows you to leverage into your opponent as a third pillar. Of course, this is assuming you do the right things. I've never understood the aversion to giving up your back, as was stated in the video…it opens up many effective paths to negate your opponents' offense.

Wild to hear Cory talk about him losing the TJ fight even though he clearly won that
I think Cory realised in that fight that just striking against someone as well rounded as TJ won’t always necessarily get you the win in the judges eyes. Since then you’ve seen him try and implement more grappling/takedowns to steal rounds which may have been even on the feet. That’s how TJ was able to get the win even tho it was super close
