It's the Glasgow Film Theatre. It's a beautiful little cinema in town with a few screens that shows non-mainstream movies mostly, but the occasional one, and it's far cheaper than the huge multi-screen complexes. Altogether a better experience for the film lover that can't be bothered with young people fucking around acting like chimps.
6:22 Winston definitely got a lot more character development in the later series'
Butter or margarine is on everything in Scotland, unless you ask for something without it.
Any sandwich or roll from a cafe or shop I go to has butter. Wraps and paninis don't.
Doesn't matter if the roll has a sauce in it like mayo or mustard. I'd always expect it is buttered too.
If you ask for soup and a roll, it will come buttered. Unless you ask for soup and a dry roll (or no butter).
The man in the magazine was the late Richard Whiteley, who was the host of an afternoon game show called Countdown, which started in the 1980's and is still going today.
It's scone as in awe. People who say scone as in oh dear are trying to be posh but they are not. Posh people say the first version.
Series 2 just gets better and better
Their losing catchphrase "Sconnae no dae that" was a play on a popular phrase from one of their Chewin the Fat sketches where one character would prank his friend (sometimes maliciously) and the dry response would be "Gonnae no dae that!", "How?"(Why), "Just, gonnae no..."
It was a popular playground and adult phrase for many in Scotland and parodied.
But as stated, it was so yesterday and even the kids don't say it by the time this was aired.
20:20 - Jack somehow doesn't recognize Winston
A sandwich without butter is like Romeo without Juliet, Torvill without Dean, or Bonnie without Clyde-----you get the idea.
I look forward to your reactions to Still Game! I loved the show so it's great watching it again seeing your reaction to it!
Love you down this rabbit hole. Hilarious ♡♡
Although seen a few episodes before.watched them all during lockdown didn't realize how good a program it was.
Just with the ET coming soon thing. The GFT is an actual place in Glasgow, called 'Glasgow Film Theatre.' They show reruns of old classic blockbuster movies.
Hi non Glaswegians people.
Some origin’s of terms
He (Harry) left Isa Potless / Piss Poor in the 16/1700s people would sell their pots of urine, that was Used to soften wools, Makes them, piss poor, Isa was left potless (not even got a pot tae piss in)
I’m sure there is another urban tale of they saying,
Isa said she would be the. Talk of the steamie, The Steamie was The public laundry place, wash house, Hot Steaming waters and dryers Service phased out in the 70:80s Essential beforehand
Awesome series. Binged this a couple of years ago and enjoyed every single episode.
Here today, scone tomorrow.
The look on your face when Isa pulled out the vibrator. Priceless!
Winston is a great character in still game if you persist with watching you will for sure love him in the end!
Tam on the other hand is a tight prick!
ET was re-released in the cinemas when this episode of Still game was filmed so that's why the ET poster is there.
Pick a team, Squirrel. If you're not with us you're against us.
Aye Winston is my favourite character overall though they are all fantastic. Can't wait until the next one!! Cheers man.
You are the best still game reactor. All the best squirrel
some reason Americans don't put butter on in Britain it would be unusual not to put butter on a sandwich.
Skawn. That's how m8.
Fastest cake in the world.
I was just going to tune into The Sensational Alex Harvey Band for a wee while But I was, Hey look Squirrelled
Hey🐿️ one of my favourites this one, brilliant. Take care buddy ✌️🇬🇧✌️🇺🇸🍻p. s. box from the Isle of Wight has been sent now, sorry for the delay(my wife and I were searching around our stores for thoughtful gifts so enjoy buddy👍)
Small Error: Winston says it is Thursday in the post office, but when Victor is talking to Simon at the ticket office; He says It is normally Peter we deal with on a Tuesday.
19:00 Small Error: You see that Isa is on the ground floor as you can see a garden outside the window. However she is supposed to be living in the high flats with Jack & Victor as neighbours. So seeing a garden from high flat windows is highly (No pun intended) unlikely to happen.
27:02 to 27:05 This is a reference to Chewin' the Fat
Christ! Who cares.
Bravo 👏👏👏😂😂. Great stuff 👌
Scotland ancient capital is Scone Abbey was built from 1114 Where The Stone of Destiny lay Jacobs anointed pillar covenant stone, The town’s called Scone as in scoon spoon
it was the 20th year anivesary version of e.t that was showing (it was remastered or something)
For me Winston is the best character, great reaction thankyou
Winston is my favourite.
Scones you said it like a Londoner
You weren't expecting that from Isa. 11:05. 😲
You've opened a can of worms with the scone rhymed with gone, and scone rhymed with phone thing.
Rhymes with phone, other ones for posh people
The correct pronunciation is ‘sc-awh-nes’ (ie the second way you said it. Scones are a traditional Scottish baking and so is pronounced the proper Scottish way… ‘scawhnes’.
There is no correct pronunciation, it depends on what region of the country you are from and even then you will find quite often two ways to pronounce it, possibly more as said depending on the region you are in. (not worth getting in a tizz about it).
Hey brother miss see you around us smaller creators, how you are doing good!
Watcing this for the first time, decided to go with your reaction because you have good taste, some reactors pause the video every few minutes and with comedy it breaks the rhythm. Your reactions are much better you watch and then give your opinion and seems to enjoy everything, you have good taste, I was wondering how you cope with the Scottish dialect, you don't seem to have much trouble. I had heard this was a good series but I have never had time to watch it, seems very good enjoyable characters.
U need to get the other seasons of Still Game (7 8 9)
Actually the cinema they go to is a retro cinema where they show old movies
It is called Glasgow Film Theatre or G.F.T for short
Oh, just to be pedantic...but though they reference the GFT, the cinema where they're filming is The Grosvenor Cinema in Ashton Lane, just off Byres Road in the West End of Glasgow. It's about five minutes from where I was born and raised many years ago, now in Chicagoland. Both cinemas are great.
@@lcnward Does it matter?
I dreamt of victor on a coach trip as a date. Watching too much, help 🇬🇧😫👍
As far as I'm concerned, there's an 'e' on the end which makes it scone, not scon. That's what the 'e' is for.
There's an 'e' at the end of 'gone'
@@mikecaine3643 and an 'e' at the end of 'bone', 'lone', 'cone', 'tone', 'plate', 'gate', 'mate'.!
@@Trev359 and done, one and none - though in rhyme you would win - though plate mate and gate are pushing it a bit .
wtf scones? It's pronounced scones.
How many times.....
