The music of Handel is wonderful and these concertos are musical masterpieces. I believe that these music were already composed in England on the patronage o George I, where he developed a large part of his vast work. For me Handel is a amazing musician of the Baroque period. These concertos are a mix of calm periods followed by others of great triumphalism like most of people’s lives. Viva Handel and his unmistakable music. The orchestra is superb and the interpretation of Maurice Andre flawless.

Neither artist is "better" than the other. All artists are unique. When a person reaches the heights that these giants obtained within their own lifetimes all of mankind may stand back and rejoice at the gifts they both left us. What would our world be like if we could not participate in the musical creations of Bach and Handel. As Robert Schumann said of Frederic Chopin upon hearing his glorious variations on Don Giovanni...."Hats off Gentlemen, A Genius!"
A humanly statement, but not correct. There were a lot of composers that hadn't the quality of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn. Also today: There are few composers of top rank, and many of means. How can we assert this? By the quality of handling the harmonies. Does a song (or symphony) consist of F/a/B/C chords? Or do they have F sharp, Db, diminished and chromatic chords? And do their melodies reach the highes and the lowest tone possible? Well, I and many others can hear such things and rate a composer for these aspects.

Haendel never wrote trumpet concertos. These works are transcriptions. But the majestic nand sometimes triumphant tone of Heandels music sticks so parectly to the trumpet that these transcriptions sound like actual masterworks.
The concertos are for oboe, but the suite is originally for trumpet. Handel is so majestic

Excellent music
Haendel reused many of his best tunes in the trumpet concertos -- a perfectly acceptable practice -- while adding original material and blending everything together to suit the occasion, something he could do in masterful fashion, like most Baroque composers, who lived by writing to order. The valveless trumpet is harder to play but has a glorious clarity of sound.

As I've read here, HAENDEL didn't write Trumpet Concerts I thank you anyway for sharing it with us! They're agreable to listen to indeed!
They are some arrangements for trumpet but if it is music by Handel, oboe concerto, etc.
Are we not all expressing our own individual opinion and enjoyment, or otherwise? Just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, is it not true that the enjoyment is in the ear of the listener. I love all types of music, but most certainly not all of all types of music. And this includes the classics.

+TheClassicalSymphony Händel war Deutscher, obwohl er in Italien geboren wurde. Später (fast am Ende seines Lebens) wurde er nach England umgezogen. Damals wurde König Georg II. auch Deutscher. Er stammte aus Hannover, und sprach gleichzeitig Englisch, Deutsch, Französisch mit einem starken deutschen Akzent. Händel hatte auch "Zadoc the Priest" an Georg II. geschrieben. Auf diesem Fall sollen Sie auf Deutsch plaudern ;)

There is a fascinating story about Bach and Handel visiting a famous organist at different times. When Handel came, all the flags were flying and the bands playing. When Bach came, he just sat in a corner at the back. Handel was an extrovert, and wrote extrovert music. Extroverts do have more fun! Bach was an introvert, and as one myself I can tell you it is a harder life. But introverts do reach depths extroverts generally do not.
BTW anyone who thinks they can sell anything by constantly interrupting music like this with blah, blah, blah is in serious need of giving their head a shake.
It was probably Dietrich Buxtehude they where visiting, inquiring of the organists offer of a post in exchange for marrying his daughter; both refused....must have been some 'unattractive' lady?......jn

It was Buxtehude. and Bach was profoundly influenced by his playing, and I do believe he visited him twice, once young and the other in his early career.

I love BOTH Handel and Bach and agree with you. To me, Bach's music is that of an introvert-incredibly inward and contemplative. I myself am an extrovert and I do prefer Handel overall-he is in fact my favorite composer, but what I listen to depends on my mood and I can enjoy introverted music.
