“Story 2” I have sympathy for you. I am pretty much in the exact place as you, my mom even said to my face that she doesn’t care about my mental health. She keeps me stuck in the house, I rarely get to go hang out with my friends, everyone else but her, actually understands me and who I am as a person.

Story 2: Similar situation myself, however I've seen the other side. My parents treated me as a trophy child because I did decent in school. They placed expectations on me that I didn't want to meet and couldn't. I was the punching bag for my "friends" who actually kicked me out the group because they were bullying me and I told someone after months of suffering. I wouldn't say my advice is the best but if you can cut contact with them. Blood is thicker than water but that doesn't stop it being poisonous. Family is a double edged sword. It can be the your greatest strength or most crippling weakness. Parents that constantly put you down and try to erase your sense of self aren't parents they're slavers

Story 4: Under no circumstance cheating should be excused. It is not a mistake, it is a choice. There are ppl that will guilt trip you by saying, "oh you were so distant, oh, I did this because u gave me no attention", blah, blah. You should always brake up with a cheater , no matter how long you've been together, no matter how much they said they drunk. Might be hard, especially if you love that person a lot, but choosing to continue the relationship will only make everything worse, because you will never have the same trust towards the person that cheated on you and you will become controlling, this will bring stress in the relation and it will slowly become toxic.

      Nothing is ever this simple.
You can choose your pride. Or you might choose some financial stability for your children since you quit your job to be a Mom 12 years ago.
So you decide to go back to school instead. You choose to build your social circle again. You make your husband who you haven't left regret his life's choices... while he might be continuing to make bad choices.
And when you're ready to fly again. Do it. Maybe that's with your husband, maybe it's with yourself. But now it's truly your choice ♡
The idea isn't to make decisions in pride.

@@andreiscobai4206 It's probably a personal story of how they, or someone close to them dealt with infidelity (when children and marriage were factors, which they weren't in story four).
So, no, it doesn't seem to be about story four. It seems to be a response to the absolutist mentality that there's no other healthy options than to immediately dump a cheater in any circumstance.
Personally, I don't subscribe to that one size fits all mentality either. But, in the case of story four..... both OP and the girlfriend were well aware that the coworkers were very attractive and capable men. Perhaps moreso than OP. The girlfriend was completely unapologetic about walking out on OP and shooting her shot with a coworker. Then, came crying back to the boyfriend when it didn't work out with the coworker. He should NOT take her back. She's clearly not committed to him nor does she care about how he felt about any of this. She will very likely do this again the next time a better option appears. That's just where she's at in life. He doesn't need to subject himself to that. He can walk away as freely as she did. And should do exactly that in this case because he needs to have more respect for his time, energy, and affection than she does by not wasting it on a person who so callously traded him in. He's a human being. Not a life-raft to save a drowning person from her own stupid choices.
That's not the case in every cheating situation. But, it sure is the case for this one.

Story #4: the guy should totally break up with her. If she's able to cheat on him once, she'll probably be willing to cheat on him again in the future. And she also did say that she doesn't regret it. She later did change her statement about that, but probably just because she realized that the guy would kick her out, so she's letting out the crocodile-tears to manipulate him, just so she could stay. I personally am kinda sure that she did not just cheat once, she probably did the deed with her ,,work-buddys" everytime she stayed late at work. She also pulled the ,,I was unhappy for months" card and tried to justify her behavior. Considering that justifying and her saying that she didn't regret it, its already obvious that it wasn't just a ,,drunken-Mistake", so she cant pull that card anymore, cuz it ain't working anymore, lady.

Start working on making or improving friendships with people that actually care about you and support you. Then get the heck away from your parents as soon as you are able to. They are toxic and a drain on your mental health. It may be a while before you can get free which is why having caring supportive friendships/relationships are important while you wait until you can get out.

Story #3-- The mortgage sounds like it's an ARM, or adjustable rate mortgage. Which would be going up now with general interest rates. A lot of buyers chose those when they were cheaper than fixed-rate loans during all-time low interest rates. And a lot of them have gotten in trouble when the rates rose, and could no longer afford their mortgages. But ARM rates have absolutely nothing to do with the number of occupants. Sounds like the in-laws made a bad decision to get a cheaper loan, and are now paying the price. Or more specifically, are expecting OP to pay the price

I am in the same situation as #2 but I am living with my ex wife and she is verbally abusive to me. I have nowhere else to go and she throws it in my face all the time. I wish I was dead sometimes.

Next time you're at work or the library, look up local resources for battered/abused spouses. They can probably help you

The girlfriend in story four is pure cancer. She only regrets it after she tried it on with the guy she cheated with. The guy should cut her out of his life, and go no contact. Kick that trash out and move on with your life.

Story 5. OP, dump her. She could be genuinely regretful. But it could also be a matter that the situation with the person she cheated with went sour so all of a sudden she's sorry. If that is the case she will be sorry until she finds someone else. She lied to you more than once and only came clean when the guy she was with sent some texts using her phone. There is a good chance she wouldn't have said anything if that hadn't happened. So dump her, you deserve better.

Dude, if someone is going to screw you over by being verbally abusive, for ex. your mom, then you need to avoid that at all costs, you don't need that in you're life. If your mother isn't willing to rekindle that relationship with you, then it's a lose/lose chance for you.

Am I the jerk because I feel murderous all the time?
This all started then I was a 11 year old boy. Bullies were everywhere at WMS, I'm sure of it. After I got a best friend the 2nd day of school, bullies started showing up. They kept calling us ugly and stuff, and I said one word: Stop.
Apparently, they had 1000% more power just because I said stop. They would show up to us every day we were outside, and kept trying to break us and join their gang. They even got physical one day. On the last 5 weeks of school, I started breaking. But not in the way you expect. I wanted murder for some reason, and at times wanted to die myself. I still have this urge today, and I might need help. Please help me, am I the jerk in this situation?

I feel sorry for you. I can't relate to people being bullied, and I've personally never seen it before, so maybe my opinion doesn't matter that much on this. (For context, everyone in my public school experience acts like good boys and girls around me, and I think it as a curse rather than a blessing). I don't think you are a jerk. I do however think you probably need to consider seeing a therapist, and finding people in your life willing to support you. The fact these bullies tried so hard to assert themselves when you simply said stop makes them garbage humans. I hope this helps a little and I wish you the best of luck going ahead in life.

Not a jerk at all, sounds like you're struggling with your mental health and that's ok you just need to see a mental health professional to find out what exactly is going on and how to handle it
