The third story: OP is absolutely NOT the jerk. The neighbor clearly uses her child as an extension of her overwhelming sense of self entitlement. The lack of respect for boundaries, failure to accept that the word no is a complete sentence and utter lack of accountability is staggering with her. I'm child-free myself and my home is my sanctuary. I used to have neighbors with small children who would come in my yard, kick their ball in to my garden and when I confronted the mother, she had the excuse of “kids will be kids.” I responded that parents should be parents and just squirting out a few kids does it make someone a parent. She took offense to that and the next time I came home I found nails in my driveway. If it wasn't for the fact that my driveway is sediment tan and I have very good headlights on my car, I wouldn't have seen them. For clarity, I had gone out after dark and come home extremely late. That means, whoever did this was watching to wait to see when I would leave. You can't convince me that it wasn't that horrible neighbor. She's long since been evicted. I'm just suggesting that, since her neighbor's attempt at guilt-tripping didn't work, OP might have to worry about possible retaliation for standing her ground.
The second story: Absolutely NOT the jerk. Ellen is so completely removed from any kind of personal responsibility because she's a spoiled, most likely, trust fund baby. Having been born into money, being given everything she's ever wanted, she's so self-absorbed and it's completely altered her perception of reality.
Her defensiveness, after OP called her out (the audacity to equate working once a week, in her parents' store, makes her sensitive to everyone else's plight is flabbergasting) is a dead giveaway that she's never once been asked to put herself in someone else's shoes. If given the opportunity to walk a mile in someone else's footwear, I guarantee you she wouldn't do it unless they were Manolo blahniks.
One time I had a hospital appointment where I couldn’t eat the day of and night before. Luckily my parents were really understanding and gave me so much food and drinks. I really love them❤
Story 2: When I was attending College my Parents paid for my stuff while I was attending school but we weren’t very well off but both my Parents worked so we had enough money for me and my brother to attend college until my Brother and I decided to drop out for reasons but we didn’t need to take out student loans. However my Brother and I weren’t attending university just a Junior College. So our schooling was cheaper than going to a university.
Story 4: Yeah OP's not the jerk here. The girlfriend is just being flat out lazy to me. Like how do you just flat out decide that you're gonna take the OP's food, even by the fact that he hadn't eaten for literally 1 and half days? If there's anyone that's being selfish here, it's the GF. If she was hungry, then she can either order her own food or cook on her own, especially by the fact that the original poster asked her MULTIPLE times "Hey, do you want something?" And the GF said no every time. So it's literally the GF's own fault that she has nothing to eat, don't go blaming the OP.
As they said in friends - "JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD!"
So let's see her parents never taught her empathy but if it's not her friend's job to teach her empathy then who's job is it?
Let her learn on her own obviously

Story 4 no you offered to get her something and she said no and instead she tried to take food off your plate. She can't just take food just because now she wants something.
Story 1: The minute the OP mentioned prison, I was even more intrigued than I was before. As far as I’m concerned, this story had a happy ending…at least for now. The OP should take self-defense lessons and psychology classes for when their father gets out of prison. In fact, he should be prepared for when the father is eventually released.
Story 2: Ellen is a spoiled brat. She needs a reality check.
Story 4: To the OP’s girlfriend…WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST REQUEST YOUR OWN DAMN ORDER WHEN HE OFFERED?!

Food sharing story I don't think he's the jerk at all. If you order yourself a hamburger and your partner clearly says they don't want anything and then when your food shows up and they say hey give me half of that they're an asshole. You order the food that makes you full and not hungry afterwards which is the point of ordering the food because you also have to pay a huge delivery fee usually.
