The best friend didn't tell him that she was his girlfriend for HOURS, like if I was the best friend I would introduce my girlfriend to best friend so that way this wouldn't happen.
Story 4: This whole situation seems blown out of proportion, from the way this story was getting told I was expecting the op to have had a make out session with the guy’s girlfriend but it was just a kiss on the cheek if a whole circle of friends can turn on you over something like this I don’t think they were friends to begin with, it sounds heavily superficial.

While heavily drunk i hugged my good friends then girlfriend at their party, i dont even remember it, they told me and they werent mad at the slightest altough i apologized. Either more happend and op left out some facts or the "friends" are overreacting.

He didn't have her consent and just completely violated her space doing that, and she was probably extremely uncomfortable after that... BUT he knows what he did wasn't okay and was ready to take full accountability for it (he even said it wasn't the alcohol because he wasn't that drunk) and as long as she's willing to move on and forgive him then no.. There's no reason for everyone else to go as far as to full on exile him as their friend.

A hug and a kiss on the cheek is really something to get upset over? Friends do that all the time. So to shun someone for doing a small thing like that with his friends girlfriend, which he didn't know was, is just stupid.
Friends do that with the understanding that it's platonic affection and... That's only if you have particular friends who are okay with bc frankly that's never something that was normal for me and my friends.. But this guy did not mean it platonically. He thought this was a single woman who was into him and he was attempting to flirt back. That's not platonic. BUT he didn't know because no one introduced him properly so it's not like it was his fault.
Story 3: The grandma seems to be showing early signs of dementia... My grandma has dementia as well, so I learn a thing or two about it. People with dementia will think everyone is out to get them, everything within their reach is "their stuffs", and at a later stage, they will start stashing foods or items in the house in their closet or hide it somewhere in the house, and when they forgot they had hidden it/where they hid the items, they will blame someone for stealing "their stuff" (mind you, the item might not even belong to them in the first place), they will also love to shout and make noise (like banging the doors, hitting stuffs with their walking sticks, etc.). They might not be like this before dementia, but having dementia messes up a part of their brain, so they cannot think rationally anymore. A lot of patience and love will need to be shown towards them. I think OP really should bring her MIL for a medical check up to find signs of early dementia.... It cannot be reversed, but there are therapies and medication out there that can slow down the worsening process.
I was thinking the same thing. Especially the whole offering the food then changing her mind part. Reminded me of my grandmother who during the early stages got upset when I drank the drinks they litterally only keep at their house for me.

OP’s husband is totally burying his head in the sand and is probably in denial. She needs to be evaluated by a medical professional. If she goes back home, there’s no telling what might happen.
Story 1: here’s the thing about private businesses. They have a right to be selective about their customers. Now I’m not saying they have a right to be discriminatory, but they do have a right to enforce certain rules that the government otherwise cannot. The mask mandate is a perfect example. A medical exemption is really all verbal and like they said, it really only keeps the police from fining you. In a private business, they do have a right to kick you out if you do not follow the rules. So despite this Karen saying she had a right to shop there, really it’s more of a privilege and if you can’t follow the store’s rules, you lose that privilege
Story 5: Are we brushing off the fact she went to the app again? Because how she knows about it if she has the APP? ... isn't that ... strange?
Story 1: You may be pro or anti mask, but everyone should abide to a business' rules (wearing mask, dress code, allowing pets, etc), if you don't like said rules, give your money to other business.
Story 2: It may be a cultural thing, maybe OP suffers from some kind of agoraphobia, lots of people pay form housekeeping, cleaning and food-cooking, he just uses his family, it really depends on the parents situation, the man's living style, etc.
Now, he being rude is non-acceptable.
Story 3: That woman is nuts. Offering to "pay" for food to then not wanting said food to be eaten, to get aggressive around the children. It may be going to some rough stuff or just be a nasty person.
Story 4: The Best Friend is not a one at all, you don't spend hours without introducing your GF to your Besty, and it was a kiss on the cheek as a celebration (a stupid move). They didn't hook up or anything like that, the so called best friend should take a breath, understand that to OP the girls did not have any relationship with him, but it seems the relationship between op and the best friend wasn't really fully friendly yo begin with.
Story 5: That's a silly mistake when you consider the girl didn't showed much appreciation until some time later, and the op low self-esteem. Plus, not being verse on how some apps works is more a funny thing than a bad one. If the girl don't take the time to hear and understand op's situation then she wasn't the right for him.
Someone pointed out that this could be the early signs of dementia. Personally knowing of someone who is going through early onset dementia, it really does track.
In regard to the pets thing it is very common for businesses to refuse guide dogs even though that is discrimination. In essential places doctors notes for exemption should be valid, I used one because I need to get my prescriptions and food and occasionally can't wear a mask because I have panic attacks and sensory overload. But I test regularly as an extra measure to protect others. Idk what non disabled people think of that though

So, to the OP, he is still a child at 40 years old. The reason he's not leaving & feels like he has an obligation to get back for no reason is because he's not having to use the good money he makes, to support himself. Instead he's using it to live frivolously & doesn't want to fork out money to change that. If he moved out he'd have to hemorrhage his "fun money" to bay bills which he doesn't wanna do & his parents are clearly enabling this behavior. Trust me honey, run now & get away as fast as you can. Because if it becomes serious & move into together, he'll expect you to do the same thing his parents do; pay all the bills to support his needs so that he can use his money for whatever unnecessary things he wants.

Story 1 : My friend had that kind of people as well at her work, and I mean with exemption, not a Karen. But they were kind and gave in a list and since they were very few, some coworkers helped out getting the groceries for them, get sorted, told how much they needed to pay, and they were waiting for it outside, and grateful to be served. Helped out as well a couple of times, there's how I got to know.
Of course, not taking the right product of the shelves happened, or price being too high did happen and they asked to change or refund this or that, but as mentioned there were few, and regular customers as well, so it was hard to say no. But to sue, or to be demanding like that, that's unheard of.
Really she should go to a therapy, and learn how to live in the society.
Hell, I still keep masks in the car just in case..

I had a similar story to story #4 but it was on Facebook and I was sober, basically one day I decided to befriend a buddy's giftfriend. Now I should state me and him are old high school friends and he knows my personality pretty much as he and our friends would have nominated me for a pride award that some students would get at the end of the year. One day his girl posted a picture and I commented she was very beautiful and I guess she got weirded out by it and took my friend and he understood where my point was. Now I should say that I would never go after a friend's girlfriend or partner, that's not me in the slightest and I respect people boundaries and such. I did apologize and we agreed to one day meet up and I get to meet his girl, because after high school we hardly saw each other except online and other than that I have not done anything like that since and we are still buddies to this day
In the story with the girlfriend, I would have been confused as well as a girl, because majority of the time guys usually stick close to their girlfriends and when they’re in conversation with other girls, they’ll either have their arm wrapped around their girlfriend, or some thing else like that how was the guy supposed to know like seriously?

Now that the rules lifted I get customers telling me I need to remove mine even try to yank it off my face. I have bad health and my wife just had liver surgery. Im.not about to get sick or bring anything home.
Story one: with the mask situation, I hated it. I hated every single moment of wearing a maskbut I understood why we had to do it but for my job, If we weren't around anybody, we were allowed to pull our mask down. If we were within 6 feet of each other, we were supposed to wear up. It wasn't a big deal but however with me. I have a heart condition so I got wavered just a little bit more but I never took it for granted. The government does not issue out any sort of waiver paperwork and I can attest to that. You can get a doctor's note that can give you restrictions for the mask situation but this Karen needs to grow and know the world doesn't revolve around her

I wouldn't dismiss story 1 without knowing what kind of store it was. There are valid exemptions. I occasionally am unable to wear a mask because of autism and anxiety but when I am able I do. If the store was a general store for food or pharmaceutical I would be upset that discrimination for someone who is doing essential shopping would be an issue during the height of the pandemic. I also make sure to test at least weekly to prevent spread as I know the risks of not wearing a mask

For the last story i have a suggestion for. If they read the comments if the suggestion that they used didn't work they can try to prove that to her by letting her see the apps, he had and games but nothing private that he didn't want to show.

this is most likely the case, when you hang with the boys you normally introduce your gf first. It seems so out of place he only got butt hurt after they kissed didn't so much as pull him to the side to talk about it earlier. Story 2: I personally come from a bit of an odd family like this we have always lived together for generations the only time someone moves out is when they get married or start their own family lots of countries around the world do this and for the most part this was how almost the entire world had done things for most of history but my family does this for financial reasons right now it's just me and my younger brother left at the house with our mom but between the 3 of us we have no money problems what's so ever and when the time comes for us to find someone and leave home we both have enough money and decent jobs we can buy a house and not have to worry about anything

Story 4: i'm from Argentina, and the friend is not so friend at all. He is one of the "pseudo-friends" we call here and he is either for brag the gf or just not say anything and expect some problems to just making his macho impression and i for experience know this doesn't go well. In this case the other "friends" doesn't help either at all too. I once got this but in my case i got annoyed because it was clear the girl was trying to hit on me all the time, despite i fully know who was her bf (a guy who was at the other side talking with other guys). I made some small talks but with her and other girl there too. Then she got very closer until the guy appear. I knew what he wanted to do so i stood up and told him: "if you wanna do something, at least focus on your gf instead of babbling with your friends there". My friend separate us and by the look, the friends were like "oh no! he is at it again". Later on when i went to help my friend with the grill, the guy approach and said he was sorry for that and he always feel like everyone hits on his girl. I took a deep breath, and told him: "Look! 1st of all she isn't my type... not to diminish her ... but it isn't the kind of girl i prefer to be honest and 2nd, she was the one trying to start conversation with me all the time as i only reply to her friend instead when she was the one asking questions ... if Damian intercede is because he knew it i was getting fed up with the situation and not in the mood to deal with other people's bs ... sorry if i had to tell you this, but i don't think she is as much faithful as you think it is and if I'm you, i would sit with her and talk about it".
This is the water down version because there is a lot of Argentinian lingo and insults throw in the mix. But for sure i can also vouch the gf of that guy won't be as faithful as he think will be either, if she was this closer with OP. Mainly because this is the main reason why i don't seek a date at all in my country ... as i don't trust anyone from my own country due girls been like this and only a few i knew it prefer to focus on themselves and work too.

Story 4: First of all I have to say I spend one year working in USA and I see is a very different country that the one I came from and even if I love the time I spend there they seem like sometimes too cold whit the people they love like parents, close family. I’m from Spain if you are introduced to someone new you always gave them 2 kisses in the cheek, is not something I really like but I do it. The true is that in my country a kiss in the cheek will never cause something like this because is not such a big deal, is not a deal at all. If you have a good news many people will huge and kiss you. I always think that in my country we are confortable showing love, I like this even if I prefer not to kiss as much.

Story 2: it feels like we're only getting one side of this story. Its the op's right to break things off with this guy if she really has these issues, but i cant trust in good faith that her issues run as deep as she's making it out to be. As others in the comments stated, in a lot of cultures its normal to continue living with family for a long time. It seems to me that the OP is trying to push her own beliefs on her boyfriend about how you coincide with family. Story 2, I feel he would not have the things he has or the money he likes to wave around IF he had to pay for his own living expenses (rent/mortgage, food, utilities, etc.) and that makes it easy for him to leach off his parents... Now if he was living there helping them with their expenses due to them being on a "fixed" income that would be totally different... Sounds like he wants his cake and to eat it too...

*Story 1:* Why this *"karen"* refused to wear a mask is beyond me. Given the crazy pandemic, it's no wonder people were dying left and right. I wore a mask throughout the pandemic, I also got my vaccine shot when it became available.
Story 2: Excuse me karen ... to you both. But this is depending on both situation. YEAH!!!! she sounds entitled without know the full situation as well too. From one side, yeah! it sounds like he is only leeching housing from the parents while having money ... but also there is other situations who make different the case. I.E: Me (M 34) and both of my sister (F 27 and F 23), lives on your parents house. And me and my 2nd sister helps with paidment as well.

Imma be honest the boyfriend in story 4 is the one who fucked up. I admit the op should’ve been more smart with his actions but like… how tf are you gonna invite YOUR girlfriend to a party and not tell your friends that she is your girlfriend? That would’ve caused this whole event to never happen! When it comes to Masks, I do actually have a really hard time breathing in them. The heat of my own breath lingers on the mask and makes it highly difficult to breathe and I have to make sure I am walking quite slowly and calmly while I wear one... I still wear one in public though, I'd rather that then the virus if I had to pick. Luckily, I don't go out often.
I still wear mine do to a cough that will not go away and don't want someone to freak out on me. I still don't know why I have this darn cough.
I work on public health, so I have to use it, specially in some places where cases are increasing fast.
I have a really hot breath and use glasses, so I can't see at all, thus I had to create a "breathstopper" that I use between my nose and the mask.

Story 1: I have no idea where this is, but if you really are exempt from wearing a mask, you'll have a legit official doctors note, not just verbal or a cheap piece of paper. I always laugh when these stupid people threaten to sue when they have no grounds, and when they think that their rights overrule any other rights; "i have a right to shop where i want" "we have the right to refuse service". Story 4: The friends here are majorly overreacting. This was a simple hug and cheek kiss in celebrating in beer pong... not on the lips or heavy making out or anything. He still shouldn't have done it, regardless of drinking and all that. Also, don't you think the friend should've said something like; 'this is my gf', and the OP wouldn't have gone anywhere near her? I think this whole thing is a massive overreaction and misunderstanding. If the friend/bf to that girl wants to be upset, he has a right to be, but blocking him outright and everyone else being mad is rather unwarranted.
Story 5: This is also a case of major overreaction. If i were the OP, i would've made sure that all those profiles were gone before deleting all of those apps... if nothing else, just to make 100% sure that they are gone. Also, why is the girl still looking on those apps? What's her excuse/reason? Old messages? Unlikely. Overall, this is a major derp moment for the OP, but i think he dodged a bullet with this girl if this is how she acts over this.

no you are wrong the mother in-law obviously told the children no on the coco indicating it was hers and the children ran to mommy to override granny which the mother should have asked first before saying yes to the coco the mother acted pretty self intitled to someone else drink mix i don't care if you are in someone else home that does not give them the right to take and use their stuff without permission and as far as it goes she had every right to get after the children for it and the mother should have taken the mother in-law into another room and talked to her like an adult to find out why she was getting after the children but her idea of taking care of the situation was to say we will buy more tomorrow and calling her husband to have him chew out his mother for nothing more than the wife stealing her mother in-laws coco. the example the mother set for the children in that situation is its okay to be self intitled and its okay to take other people's stuff without permission that is shitty parenting, and you just encouraged that kind of behavior and when was there any mention of house rules and since when does having to follow house rules include letting someone steal from you.

@@viviennemorgan7217 okay genies hot chocolate is not a snack it's a drink and the snacks were bought by grandma and groceries for grandma using grandma's food stamp card at no point did the mother make it clear when complaining about her mother in-law did, she say the hot chocolate were for the kids from the grandma's reaction is a big indicator that the hot chocolate was hers and permission was need from the grandmother for them to get into it not the mother the mother is teaching her children it's okay to steal from family because mommy said it was okay no that is unacceptable and it was the mother who needed to talk to her mother in-law like a normal human being would to find out what the problem was and she just railroaded her and thought buying more solves the problem it doesn't how is the mother in-law supposed to visit them not knowing if her daughter in-law is going to be a shitty host and let her kids steal from her again.

Story 2: I think the op is a bit of a jerk in this scenario, honestly speaking as someone that’s looked at the state of the world and how absolutely horrendous things are here in the US with housing prices and rent sky high.
I don’t see how it’s so strange for grown children to still be living with their parents combining earnings to take care of bills, buy necessities, and take care of each other isn’t a bad thing, now as for what they say his personality is I can’t defend that because it does sound like as a person he has some growing he needs to do.
I don’t really think this relationship is going to last at all since the op is very hung up on him living at home and the parts where they mention how he doesn’t stay over often or says he needs to get back home don’t sit quite right to me. They’ve only been dating year and a half so maybe the guy just isn’t comfortable with that just yet I mean if all this stuff bugs her she could always just discuss it with the him before it all comes crashing down.
