Starting to feel that Will needs to make a calendar of just pictures of him riding power hammers around the world.....
like those firefighter calendars?
OMG, that would be amazing! XD
"Hammerin' Will" ??? Actually, a calendar of Will and the creations he makes is a good idea!
Yess!!
Am I the only one that thought "that man needs a saddle"? I didn't think so....
Still aching from that time that Gravity took away the last one.
I still have dreams that Will was going to bring it back to life.

When you were unloading the hammer and said "drop it on the ground"... I started having flashbacks.
Hey Will, wanted to drop a tip for you. I am a journeyman maintenance technician and routinely have to take stuck nuts off of machines using the "blue wrench" (lol). When you are trying to do that, you should try heating it from just one spot as much as possible. When you heat the entire nut, that saturated heat will expand the whole nut like you are trying to achieve, but it also saturates the threads and will cause them to expand with the nut which is working against you. If you heat just one area, it expands the hole all over and saturates less of the threading with heat soak making it worlds easier to get nuts off. I spent many an hour doing exactly what you did until a senior technician showed me this trick, and now the "blue wrench" has never been a more effective tool in my arsenal. Great work man, keep it up!
Journeyman maintenance technician reporting in, gonna try this next time!
It's cool that he got a sponsor that is actually relevant to what he's doing and his channel.
Come on, nothing is more relevant than Raid Shadow Legends. Or I’m sure Manscaped would love to sponsor him on the basics of big crusty nuts.
You can tell a sponsor is good and relevant when they pay you in product instead of money.
@@briansmith3011 underrated comment
Dont be afraid to run adds Will because monetization means we can see videos for years to come!
@@briansmith3011 lol stuck old ones too…. They were hammered a couple times, but they should work…… maybe…..
Power hammer restoration video is giving me PTSD Will. Amazing content as always.
yeah, when they took it off the truck I cringed so hard! but then it was ok and I could breathe again lol
@@monkeylordofdoom14 as long as he doesn't leave it on a narrow pallet jack on a slope in the wind, I'm sure it will be fine. Lifting from above is so much safer
When I saw the title I was concerned he will break this too... Fingers crossed
As it is already almost installed, he should be fine
It’s on the pad everyone. We might be safe.
I would like to recommend using a lavalier microphone, even one that plugs into your phone. It will be the cheapest and shortest route to good audio and will reduce the impact of the echo from the workshop on your voice. Keep up the work, man, I can't wait to see the growth and development of your channel.
I second this, Will! Love seeing your content; to make it even better a different audio setup is key! You can record voiceovers with the same clip-on mic and room audio the same way as before. There are good clip-on mics for relatively cheap, at least to hold you over for a while.
The doggo cam was fun :)
Also, I can tell the audio is normalized a lot better now! It's a big improvement. One trick is to apply a low-pass filter on the voiceovers to remove a bit of treble/hiss. Normalizing/compression can accentuate the hiss of some microphones. You can choose the cutoff frequency to taste.
need to level out the volume levels from all the separate clips as well
lavs are good in studio and/or on the street...i can see the pile of his broken lavs growing by the second if he works with them...
in the best case its just in the way and in the worst case it distracts him when it shouldnt...treatment and a shotgun mic would probably be a safer bet.
Hahaha i came to comment the same thing: time for a lav mic
Ads like that are just so effective. It didn't feel fake. It didn't seem scripted. It was just, "Hey, I like this stuff. This is how it works. See? Nice, right?"
Very rarely do I actually watch ads... but in the case of Will's ad, I watched it all.
You could see the sincerity
exactly. i actually didn't know this stuff exists. It's hands down amazing the things you learn. Like, Imagine using this on an old bike for example. Remove the paint, then use rust converter for the finish. No hours of sand blasting and all that. Amazing.
This is more a sponsor than an ad tho, he got the products he needed for the job and they get a mention :)
Yes he do talk positive about them, but he also USED the products for his project just like they were intended to be used

Watching Will restoring power hammer is like watching a thriller movie. Constant fear of something falls and breaks.
My heart skipped a beat when he flipped that old roller over his hands and down into the ground...
He still has to move it to its permanent home when the concrete fully dries. Hopefully all goes good 👍
Still mildly traumatized over the last one at Alec's? Yeah, me too.
@@koncan5 Mildly?! I got PTSD! Still have the image of the toppling Little Giant in my head.
I was waiting to see if it was reverse threaded. LOL.
Does wills narration style remind anyone else of dirty jobs/ how it's made? It has a very mike row feel and I'm really liking it.
I love the straight to the point old school style of giving info like this.
I was thinking the same thing watching the episode
Yes.
I love how u have broken away from Mr Steele and become your own content creator and not just tried to imitate Alecs channel. Well done Will super happy for you.
I agree
Totaly agree. Too long in Alecs shadow. He took credit for your work way to often. The talent is here on this channel. And i was with Alec from the start, until je became more businessman and less creator.
@@rhino5419 I don't think so. Will brought a lot to Alecs channel as does Alec, both are severely talented in their own way. Together they were great, apart they are just as awesome. We get to see each individuals talent. I will miss them clowning around tho. Even tho they still have their own comedy. I enjoy being subscribed to both channels. Yes Alec had to expand into a business man because things were going great for him. Time for Will to get a piece of the American pie aka dream
@@rhino5419 someone always has to brush dirt into something eh? lol
@@rhino5419 Alec still have great content. I loved Alecs and Wills dynamic. Alecs videos though have gone from showing forging to just show finished products and fancy editing. I miss all videos showing how he really did use his power hammer to form stuff. If I wanted to watch perfectly edited and fancy videos I would go to forged in fire. I want the more personal videos showing his techniques and so on.
I do understand Alec though. He makes makes a living and it is his choice to take the channel the way he wants. He is making all he can to make a living to support his family.
What a delightful countryside setting to have a workshop! It's very encouraging to see a young man living his dream, doing what he loves. Thanks for sharing stories of your journey with the world Will. God bless you.
Camera pup = instant like. :D
That satin finish looks perfect on a hundred year old machine.
It realy does but those blue shades it got while drying were also pretty imho
Man there's something that satisfies my OCD to the CORE OF MY SOUL watching that ancient crud be scraped off that power hammer.
There's really nothing more satisfying than seeing all that crap come off a solid piece of historic, heavy metal art.
yeah, but how quickly do you think that crud will come back with heavy use? So much of this episode is just temporary cosmetic enhancement that won't last, and it really doesn't really effect the function of the thing. The reason why you'd want to take it apart and put it back together is to inspect it and make sure everything is still in good shape but he really didn't have to spend all that time to make it pretty.
@@junkname9983 That much crud would take a long time to reacumulate with use, since you're expected to maintain it if you're using the machine. It's actually more likely to develop rust and gunk in it's joints when it's not being used.
Plus, machines like this are generally as solid as they come. So this Beaudry could still run for another 100 if taken care of properly. And the cleaning and application of rust converter would prevent pitting and weakening of the casting overtime, so it wasn't just for the looks. Besides, why wouldn't you make your tools pretty?
@@junkname9983 With heavy machinery it's actually a good idea to remove crud as it can hinder mechanisms, it will eventually creep into a bearing, wear surface or space that requires a clear path, it's why you change the oil in your car, those metal shavings collect and collect and eventually become sandpaper to your pistons. Plus there's pride in your equipment, I don't have to clean my car ever, but I do often. And I do it so often people I know have attributed a neatness quality to me, nothing worse than picking up a date in a crackhead mobile because "cleaning is pointless".
That gantry crane was the single most intelligent addition to the workshop! This makes disassembling heavy clunky parts way more safe and more healthy for Will's back... 😎👍
I’m a simple man, Will uploads I click
0:10 Never change! The pun is so underutilized: I love that you use them.
I love the videos where you fix/restore your items. Never not shoot video when you do these things. They are gold to watch. I love how you talk about and show the issues. I also love when you explain the goofs. None of it is a waist or wrong. Any and all events aside from injury are beautiful content! Let that offer some encouragement for when things to do go right.
When I saw Will sitting up on top of the hammer I knew then that he had a really good cleaner buzz going on.
You're getting hammered, I'm already hammered. Tis' be a good night!

@7:15 what I told your mother 9 months before you were born.

I’m happy for you that CZcams monetized TF out of this video.
Tooo much for me CZcams are trying bring down their own talent
I really appreciate the relevant sponsors. They are worth listening to, and we get to see them in action.
Please continue this approach!

That's a beautiful piece of iron, and it's nice to see the restoration before hopefully many more years of service.
For over half the video, I was thinking, "CRC better be sponsoring this video!" (I did not read the description before watching.) Will, you should be very proud of the work you are putting into your shop!
Woot it's been a while. Glad to see your still here.
I am so glad to see the videos coming out now. I love the feel of the videos. The music, the lighting, and stellar Stelter conent! Keep it coming.
Thanks for sharing your journey.
The landscape around your shop is just amazing!
That shop is all around beautiful, the location, the exterior, the interior, and even the tools inside it. Keep up the great videos Will.
Hope this resto goes better than your last hammer!
Great to see another video... keep em coming!
Nice work! It's great to see these updates. 👍🏼
Fantastic! I like that you don't make yourself out to be infallible and enjoy seeing you overcome the daily struggles with shop life. It's always something, right? Your editing, montages, music etc is great as well. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you and your team.
10:16... The puns, that's the reason why we are here, for the puns, keep them coming.
Beautiful job Will.

That is such a good looking place too. God damn I like watching these. Thank you.

So happy to see these videos!! Love seeing the shop come together
Last time i was this early. Will was visiting Alec in Britain
I was a premature baby, that was the last time I was ever early..lol
But will he sprat WD40 on the hammer to give an "explosive" shot with something hot?
Only thing wrong was having to wait so long for a video.
Happy for you buddy.

Great video. 👏 I’ve been waiting for this video to drop.
Good to see the Manager is keeping an eye on Will. I'm sure he's thinking...

That tore a hole in his heart, thats more than enough punishment for a tiny mistake with a very top heavy object.
Noticed the acoustic guitar that's in My Self Reliances opening instantly

Also Matt's Offroad Recovery :D
Happy to see your vids . Keep them coming
Glad to see more stuff from you bud.
Will, two things. Don't knock this one over and if you do, don't try and catch it. You damn near gave me a heart attack last time when you started running at the other hammer falling.

Awesome! Keep the videos coming!
Beautiful piece of machinery.
"Oh man thats a big nut, and its crusty too!"
rofl
Watching them move power hammers around makes me anxious for some reason...
A little red, gold or silver paint on the raised letters makes them pop so nicely and gives an old time feeling to machines like this. Just my opinion, Will can do what he wants.
Great work Will, love the shape the new shop is taking. Cheers!
Dude im still having nightmares over the last one with alec. Please be very careful with this one
No pallets here so we are fine
@@smartgorilla Plus, Beaudry hammers are typically more base heavy than Fairbanks/Little Giant hammers. So less of a risk for it to tip over when properly moved, unless you deliberately try to make it tip.
