    Word of advice for those that use this carpet cleaner. VACUUM BEFORE!
    The mud sitting in the bottom of the canister at the beginning means the area wasn't thoroughly cleaned with a vacuum. If you vacuum properly, you will only see dirty water, not a bunch of mud.
    That dirt will clog your machine and lower its performance.

      I vacuumed my carpet 3 times before using this cleaner and I still had dirt on the bottom. The soil in my area is very sandy and I don’t live near a lake or ocean. So the dirt she showed as far as I’m concerned is that this machine is very powerful to extract anything in your carpets.

    Great videos. I really liked that you divide it into sections. I could go stop work on that section of the matching and practice before continuing your review. You went from top to bottom. It made sense by the time I saw the 4th video. Thank you so much.
    I also learned some more pointers from other people reviews.

  • @andrewclifton9772
    @andrewclifton9772 Před 10 měsíci

    Once you have the brush assembly off, the brushes come out for individual cleaning pretty easily. On the transparent plastic cover there are six tabs ; just push them in and that cover comes off. The middle brush is screwed in but the four outer brushes just pull out. You can then pick the cat hairs (most of my dirt) off easily and you don't have to unscrew the middle one. Put the four brushes back in - it's obvious how - and clip the plastic cover back in place. I did mine yesterday and I wish I had seen your video first for the latch for the business end of the machine.

      The ones you rent from Home Depot are steam cleaners. This Hoover is *not* a steam cleaner. Steam Cleaners not only clean better, but help to sterilize carpets.

      Uggg that sounds like a nightmare. Don't worry though. The canister is easy to empty and rinse. I suggested running hot (not boiling) water down the hose. Also soak the brushes in hot water and vinegar. See if any bugs come out of it. Hope that helps and thanks for the feedback!

      Anyone that purchases this Hoover and uses it to clean their rugs and carpets will find that the basic machine is as solid a cleaner as the more advanced Elite and you can save lots of money by buying the basic machine which I purchased at Walmart on sale for about $125 American. The machine is a no-brainer, well engineered, easy to clean, take apart, and reassemble. Remember to pull the brush heads off and rinse those also. Turn them, the rotating cleaning brushes, upside down and let them dry. Then, reassemble the machine and store your Hoover in a safe dry place for the next use. Excellent professional video that will help others who do not read the manual.

    You did a good job but you left out one important area to clean at the end of the "Clean" or "Rinse" shaft where the soap is dispensed. That area grows mold and is impossible to remove at the soap ouitlet.

    Great video and thanks for sharing! I have always used a Hoover carpet cleaners. I just got this & last night was the first time I used it. Everything is easy to clean except for the brushes! Ugh! I took the clear plastic off and cleaned each brush one at a time. I have a small dog and even though I vacuumed 3 times the brushes still had hair in them. Maybe they will create one that’s easier to clean the brushes. I went back over the carpet before I took it all apart to rinse the soap out and it wasn’t extracting the water out very well! Wasn’t happy with that but otherwise it’s a great machine!

      If you want to be very picky, you can use a fine needle or pin to clean out the bristles. Just pass the needle straight through the bristles at the base and then slide it up.

    Is there a reason that you pour the dirty water down the sink drain instead of down the toilet? I would think all the hair and dirt would clog the sink drain.

      Honestly, never worried about a clog as I use it for all kinds of messes, as well as washing the dogs. I am assuming that it may have a larger pipe since it is a utility sink. We have been living in this house for 11 years and no clogs. 😁👍🏻

I cleaned my machine and let everything dry and I made sure that the actuator where the brush assembly goes into the body of the machine was spinning freely but the brushes are still not spinning. You don't need a knife. The clear plastics piece around the brushes comes off and you can take each brush out of its spindle for even more access to clean the bristles.
