    Hey just curious if you still have this.... this video is 5 years old. I have a very similar unit that's 3 years old and I take care of everything properly like you do... I even put everything in front of a fan to blow dry... including the machine itself....before putting everything away.

    Once you have the brush assembly off, the brushes come out for individual cleaning pretty easily. On the transparent plastic cover there are six tabs ; just push them in and that cover comes off. The middle brush is screwed in but the four outer brushes just pull out. You can then pick the cat hairs (most of my dirt) off easily and you don't have to unscrew the middle one. Put the four brushes back in - it's obvious how - and clip the plastic cover back in place. I did mine yesterday and I wish I had seen your video first for the latch for the business end of the machine.

      It came in a bag with other attachments. It doesn’t store directly on the cleaner, but the bag has a hook to hang in on the cleaner or anywhere when you are done using it.

    You did a good job but you left out one important area to clean at the end of the "Clean" or "Rinse" shaft where the soap is dispensed. That area grows mold and is impossible to remove at the soap ouitlet.

    I LOVE this machine however my hoover elites' brushes are not spinning. I cleaned my machine and let everything dry and I made sure that the actuator where the brush assembly goes into the body of the machine was spinning freely but the brushes are still not spinning. I so do not want to take the machine apart. AAAAHHHHH!

    Thank you for this added video! I just did my stairs & they came out great! I did the upstairs hallway & it looks good. May do it again, it gets a lot of traffic! One thing I don't like is the spin brushes. After only using my machine twice they look like they are falling apart! I still had my old one of 10yrs & its brushes looked brand new & I put that machine through hell! They need to make them better! I also noticed that the electrical cord is much shorter by at least 5'! Wasn't happy with that. But thank you so very much for your professional-looking videos! They have been a great help!

    Great video and thanks for sharing! I have always used a Hoover carpet cleaners. I just got this & last night was the first time I used it. Everything is easy to clean except for the brushes! Ugh! I took the clear plastic off and cleaned each brush one at a time. I have a small dog and even though I vacuumed 3 times the brushes still had hair in them. Maybe they will create one that’s easier to clean the brushes. I went back over the carpet before I took it all apart to rinse the soap out and it wasn’t extracting the water out very well! I CANNOT stress enough how important it is to clean the vacuum IMMEDIATELY after each use. Dont be lazy like me. One time I didnt clean it right away and when I tried to use it a month later, this HORRIBLE smell emitted from the vacuum. Upon a closer look I saw what looked like dead maggots inside. It was horrible! It took about 2 hours and nearly an entire bottle of bleach to clean out the gunk and dead bugs. What a nightmare. I almost threw the vaccuum in the trash! Lool

    Word of advice for those that use this carpet cleaner. VACUUM BEFORE! The mud sitting in the bottom of the canister at the beginning means the area wasn't thoroughly cleaned with a vacuum. If you vacuum properly, you will only see dirty water, not a bunch of mud. That dirt will clog your machine and lower its performance.

      I vacuumed my carpet 3 times before using this cleaner and I still had dirt on the bottom. The soil in my area is very sandy and I don’t live near a lake or ocean. So the dirt she showed as far as I’m concerned is that this machine is very powerful to extract anything in your carpets.

    I realize this is an old video, I just bought one of these, but did you consider perhaps your carpet is running, as in the dye is running every time you get it wet, your carpet is dyed black in some places, so it may just be continuing to run as they call it, frustrating when that happens, takes you a while to figure out the dye may just be running.

    • @radiantreview1316
      @radiantreview1316 Před 3 lety

      Yes. Thank you for mentioning this. After a few uses I realized that there were carpet fibers in the brushes and in the tank so this would cause the water to look dirtier.

    • @denakerr1379
      @denakerr1379 Před 3 lety

      @@radiantreview1316 Oh boy, this message was from 3 months ago, lol, nice to hear from you, lol. But actually I didn't mean carpet fibers, I meant like running. For example, I have a red rug that when I get it wet, the water turns completely red, looks like Kool-Aid or something. So carpets can be made with colors that "run" i.e. they actually leak the dye they were dyed with and make the water the color they are. This red rug I have I washed in in the bathtub once and through the entire washing and the entire rinsing, the water was blood red the whole time. So, it's not the fuzz or the fibers, it's the dye coming out of the carpet is what I was talking about. I don't know if your carpet leaks it's dye when gotten wet, but if so, it would be hard to tell in your case, as your carpet was black, right?, dirty water as opposed to black dye, would look the same, but yeah, that's what I meant. Thanks for writing back, have a great day.

    • @radiantreview1316
      @radiantreview1316 Před 3 lety

      @@denakerr1379 lol yes time flies when you’re having fun cleaning carpets. 😂 I do understand what you mean by running. What I meant to say is that I didn’t see that as obviously as I noticed the fibers, although it is a possibility. There was a lot of grit/dirt in the water so it definitely is doing the job. I suppose it would depend on the carpet and how it is made. I could see where the dye could be sucked out of it. That stinks because overtime it sounds like it could fade. Did you use any cleaning solution or just water? Maybe do a test of just water to see if the cleaning solution aide the color to be lifted.

      Anyone that purchases this Hoover and uses it to clean their rugs and carpets will find that the basic machine is as solid a cleaner as the more advanced Elite and you can save lots of money by buying the basic machine which I purchased at Walmart on sale for about $125 American. The machine is a no-brainer, well engineered, easy to clean, take apart, and reassemble. Remember to pull the brush heads off and rinse those also. Turn them, the rotating cleaning brushes, upside down and let them dry. Then, reassemble the machine and store your Hoover in a safe dry place for the next use. Excellent professional video that will help others who do not read the manual.

    Thank you for the review. I have same cleaner. However, I wanted to share something I discovered, to my surprise. I have several area rugs, just like yours, in my Office and Clubhouse. The 3 rugs are all different colors with basic designs. One more Black, another Brown (like yours) and my Huge one is Dark Dark reddish burgundy wine...etc. With each cleaning, I noticed my returned water was basically the Main color of carpets. I didn't really noticed this until I dumped water out, between the 3. First one was the dominate black one. At first, I thought, geeze, this carpet is super dirty with the blackish water. Like you I cleaned wash and then 2 rinse and drying. Then I started over with the brown carpet. Return water was also dark brown. (I was thinking, why did I wait so long to clean these?). Both Black and Brown carpets turned out great and the multi-colored floral designs (whatever they are called) looking more vivid. Then I started on the Dark reddish one. This is when I noticed the return water being reddish. No matter how often I went over the rugs, the dye always lifted a little bit. No damage appearance to rug's design. However, now I know, I can't depend on the return's water appearance to determine if carpet is clean. Esp. with your brownish carpet. LOL With all that said, I love my Hoover! Especially with the bigger tank! Sincerely, Brigitte in Tulsa Oklahoma

      Thank you for sharing. Yes, after a few uses I noticed that as well, especially in the brushes. It seems to pull alot of the rug fibers and this will make the water appear dirty. It is unfortunate that it is pulling fibers, as this will wear it down over time. The rugs need cleaning so I suppose there is no way around this.
