Wow this makes me feel so nostalgic of the good old days of PS1 games. I still remember playing this when I was like 6 years old without a memory card to save on, I just played the entire game each time.
I spend days and weeks with this game when I was a child. i'm kinda shocked that it's actually that short. xD

Fun Fact: Jim Cummings sang the last verse of Be Prepared when he took over for Jeremy Irons after he hurt his throat. Jim reprised his role in The Lion King II and this game.

This was the first video game I ever played, ever. I could never get past the stampede stage because I was awful, but I loved it anyways. Then, someone stepped on it.

There is a Lion King game on the PS4, but it's not a new one. It's a compilation of the 2D platform games that were already released on the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and the Game Boy from when the original Lion King film was released in 1994.

Fr Disney needs to bring this back most of these games are done really well spiderman 2 specifically was faithful to the movie but added so much more to the game
I wish people would make a Lion King videogame for the ps4 and xbox1. It would be so amazing with those graphics and controls. And the land could possibly be open ended with little side quests along the way 😄
I had those same thoughts before. Make it be like a open world rpg game in style of the Elder Scrolls games and you get to create your very own lion.

I have and played this game on my PS1. So far, shocker, it's the FIRST AND ONLY PLAYSTATION GAME I HAVE EVER BEEN ABLE TO COMPLETE! YEESH they make those other ones so hard. Even with all the cheat codes and everything, and even me reading posted game tips, as well as watching video game walkthroughs when I need help (like for Spyro: Year of the Dragon), I STILL can't get very far on any other ones. Spoiler alert- I beat this game on the easy level, as you might've guessed.

I remember getting this game years ago on my PS3. Previously I saw someone play it (on a PS3 as well) and got it for myself. Yeah, it's not the best of games but I did have a good time playing it 💜

This game was released exactly 21 years ago today. 28th December 2000. So long ago! Better times.. would would go back if they could?
Of course I would.
Oh! And I also noticed a lot of the levels mirror each other. Like where Simba first runs from a stampede of wildebeest as a cub, then later he runs from an angry crash of rhinos as an adult! Sheesh! I hope Simba severely scolded Kiara fro putting him THROUGH that, when he was finally done outrunning the rhinos.
Another example is first Simba fights Scar, and in the last level he fights Zira, and during both fights, the opponents jump onto something Simba can’t jump on and throw obstacles probably to make it harder
So the enemy in the game gives you advice? I thought scar was supposed to be smart!

Lord Jesus Christ... This is one of the Disney games I never played... I only grow up with PC game versions of Tarzan, The Emperors new groove, Monsters inc, Dinosaur and 102 Dalmations puppies to the rescue.

Also while this doesn't have the nice style of the Snes version, it also doesn't have a level built specifically to make sure you can't pass it without insane trial and error

Download an psxone emulator and The Lion King rom, you'll be able to play it on your PC! Or if you want the same feeling, buy a psone classic, right now 19$ on best buy. Then, you only need to hack it (there's a lot of tutorials on CZcams) and finally, only download the ROM, install it in your psone classic and that's it!

Just now noticed that quite a few levels have that same relaxed music from the beginning level. Including the boss fights. And the constantly repeated dialogue lines in the boss fights are kinda funny too. I loved this game as a kid though. :3
This game is really not as good as I remember. The same track is playing through 90 ％ of the game, even for the final bosses lol. The SNES version was way better
It's not the same one for almost every level, but they're VERY similar. Other than that I agree. The lack of a separate boss music is especially anticlimactic

Compared to 16bits games this game is horrible. Without any emotion. The game starts and cuts important parts of Simba's Life. As there is no stage regarding the song Can Wait to be a King, How does not have a stage regarding the music Hakuna Matata? Simba grows up and keeps the same attacks as when he was a puppy, and the worst stage of all was the stampede, in the 16bits era it was possible to reproduce with great fidelity to the film, putting the same Sense of urgency within the stage, alredy in this game is it is possible to walk and come back everywhere. Seriously its ridiculous.

Lol more like run along the path and collect points and letters lol but it was fun when I was little. The stamped always gave me the most difficult time

Ionix, and bandai was supposed to team up with Disney to make a video game called Ionix the lion guard includes 4 lion king adventures(the lion king, the lion king 2 simba's pride, the lion king 1 1/2 and the lion guard return of the roar) in one colossal video game.
