  • Unsilenced: Voices of Young Tibetans - S2 Ep6- Conversation with Tenzin Shinyi la.
In this Episode we engage with Tenzin Shinyi, a Tibetan who was born in India, studied in Tibet/China and is currently in doing her further studies in India. She shares personal anecdotes of her experience in Tibet and as a student leader in various organisations notably the Global Tibetan People's Movement for Middle Way Approach, Tibetan College Student's Conference and several others. Furthermore she highlights the situation of Tibet currently and how it is one to be looked into seriously.
She narrates to us how her audience with His Holiness the #dalailama though made her overwhelmed and emotional it simultaneously inspired and motivated her further to do more for #tibet and the Tibetan people.
Unsilenced: Voices of Young Tibetans is an audio and video podcast presented by the Foundation for Non-Violent Alternatives (FNVA) and hosted by our Research Associate Tenzing Dhamdul. Unlike Tibetans who were able to escape the clutches of Chinese communist authoritarian rule, those who are still under their occupation do not have the voice to express themselves, and ironically those who are empowered, concerned and courageous to express themselves in Tibet are met with the harsh might of CCP's retribution, with many simply disappearing and rendered silent. This podcast is a tribute to all those brave Tibetans.
Our conversations with young Tibetans will offer an interesting view of their lives in exile, their future aspiration for Tibet and give them a platform through which they can freely express themselves and in many ways decide their own Future.
We would like to thank our former intern Rinchen Dhondup la for assisting in the production.

Yes, Tibetans from India could go to China occupied Tibet and return to their homeland.
However even this has been largely restricted since the 2008 nation wide protest against Chinese Occupation by Tibetans in occupied Tibet.

Also in one occasion I came across Tibetan uni student frm amdo, Tibet. He seemed so excited to meet another Tibetan in foreign land so I took him to my place n offered him cha bhoecha Tibetan butter tea. Everything went well but as soon as he saw my prayer book n started reading the cover page he dropped it on the floor with fear n asking me are you from བོད་གཞུང་? I was like what the heck did he see on the cover page. So I checked n it says བོད་གཞུང་ཤེས་རིག་པར་ཁང་😂 I asked why u so scared of this ? This is just a prayer book. He asked me did u study in Tibetan school n do u know tibetan reading, writing n What’s ur mission here ? In my head, he was definitely in fear n do not want to cause issue while he was on his Chinese visa which took him two years to get. So I said my mission is to report Chinese embassy that u connecting with Tibetan exile student n trying to seek his holiness audience in india. He couldn’t stop laughing at my sarcasm lol but deep down he was scared n so do not want to associate with any political n exile issues. Hence no contact given!!! Can you imagine y’all I was stunned

I could be wrong but what I see from my years of observation in geo politics especially in China -Tibet-India is that this whatever new strategy of " middle way approach" is a diplomatic disaster. 1st thing you only show your card in negotiational Table. 2nd thing China already has set up Tibet autonomous region so whatever word like "meaning" "True" will only make it subjective and futher solidifies China past action and questions Tibetan freedom movement. 3rd Only reason Free Tibet movement is big because of Rational and emphatic people, NgO and gov around the world understands the need and right of Tibetan people for their Independence if its the case of autonomy then it would make matter internal affair of China.

What bs, China is the only country in the world where minority indigenous populations have grown, in fact they now make up 6% of China’s population, before it was 4%, so relatively speaking they grew by 50% more!!! In Western countries indigenous population declined by 90%.
Tibet was a feudal society with 85% of population being serfs (they could be sold as property). 8% monks and 7% elite wealthy families. The top 15%, including the monks coloured the 85% serfs!!!!
