Best of luck to you my friend. I'm in a similar situation here in the USA. Our country is ruled by Israeli bankers who steal at least 30% of my income in taxes every year and give me nothing in return. It's not a free country by any means. We have to pay taxes or a fee to do pretty much anything. I can't even go into a National Park nature area here and walk around for less than a $30 fee. It sucks being ruled by foreigners. China is so insecure. They are chewing the sour grapes of American hegemony. Why should they be second? How dare Americans be number one? I would be very interested in a video explaining why China is targeting the Uyghurs, and their actionss in Xinjiang
There are many reasons ranging from centralized authoritarian governments pretty much all being afraid of religion because they view it as a threat to their power all the way to legitimate Han racial supremacist ideas that are held at the top of the CCP.
From what The China Show has mentioned before, a big reason for it is as dark of a topic as is appropriate for this channel: organ harvesting. A product of a thriving government-backed black market, and China's demographics.
I seriously doubt that this channel will touch that topic with a 10 foot pole, given YT's allegiances and Simon & friends' dependence on said platform's revenue. Ironic, or perhaps hypocritical, considering all their videos on the resulting consequences of the big C in the 20th century.
Because the Uyghurs don't conform to the CCP's racist and anti-religious ideals. The CCP wants the population to have no god but them. Uyghurs are muslim and have no god but Allah. The CCP is interested in keeping the population weak by getting them addicted to alcohol. Uyghurs are muslim and don't drink alcohol. The CCP wants to eradicate every tradition and separate people to prevent them from uniting against the CCP. The Uyghurs hold on to their religion and traditions, which unites them.
You spelled East Turkistan wrong.

I had a Tankie tell me that Tibet at the time was “a backwater, Primitive Kingdom that still Believe in superstitious nonsense”
Because you know that’s not the same exact argument that western imperialist used to describe places in the global south at all..
Well Tibet is in a difficult position because it's technically been part of the Chinese Empire since the late 1600s
And conquest and formal control was established by the Chinese in 1720, Albeit during a brutal sacking of Lasha and nearly burning the entire city to the ground
So understand this isn't me defending the Chinese but to help others understand that their historic claim to the land does have some international legal merit because they have been the rulers of the land for over 250 years
Now to be fair the Right of Conquest isn't allowed anymore by international law ever since 1949 but that's neither here nor there and not helpful in Tibet's current situation
IMO though they aren't worthy to the claim, because of how badly the Tibetans have been treated as a result of those 250 years and the subsequent half century since Chinese control was reestablished in 1953
But unfortunately Tibet finds itself in a very similar position to Taiwan where it's not a legally recognized country and even worse is that unlike Taiwan who was at one point given a seat at the UN, Tibet never had such a luxury
Meaning there's no historical legacy within the recent global world order that Tibet can point to and therefore seek help in regard to it's situation
Thanks for all of this simon

"U.S. Policy Toward Tibet
The United States considers the Tibet Autonomous Region or TAR (hereinafter referred to as 'Tibet') as part of the People's Republic of China. This longstanding policy is consistent with the view of the entire international community, including all China's neighbors: no country recognizes Tibet as a sovereign state. Moreover, U.S. acceptance of China's claim of sovereignty over Tibet predates the establishment of the People's Republic of China. In 1942, we told the Nationalist Chinese government then headquartered in Chongqing (Chungking) that we had 'at no time raised (a) question' over Chinese claims to Tibet."

On the CCP's notions of spreading "socialist" or "communist" ideas, it should be acknowledged that the modern PRC is *not* a socialist state, it's a government-run hypercapitalist corporatorcracy.
Perhaps but all that proves is that Communism/socialism is a failed ideology and that the only way it can work is for it's leaders to cherry pick the parts they want, it's very much like religion.

I'm not too familiar with Tibets geography, but some high plains aside, all I can think of there is mountains, mountains and more mountains. Which makes it seem (and often look) somewhat like Afghanistan, just even higher up, and with a lot more water. Yet everyone got their ass kicked when they got to Afghanistan, and in Tibet... not so much. Chinas long term tactics seem to work quite well.
The TIbetan people were very warlike before the permanent establishment of Buddhism in the region. Once all the political forces in the region were converted to Buddhism, they intentionally demilitarized in the name of non-violence. The same cannot be said about Afghanistan, where the Taliban is armed to the teeth because the US sold weapons to them.
As Tibetologist Dawa Nobu described it, independence was independent way of life, not political independence. China was always some sort of overlord.
Imagine if Iran was overlord of Afghanistan.
Furthermore, much of the radical policies had been reversed by the time of the 1980s, under CCP Chief Hu Yaobang. He cultivated a protege who became CCP chief of Tibet. His name? Hu Jintao.😊😊
As a result, it was said that the CCP (the CCP, not the PRC gov) became responsible for the maintenance of monastic-based organizations.
By around 2008, it was also said that the exiles, over the years, repeatedly thwarted efforts between DL14 and CCP to sort things out. The exile movement understood that without DL14, the movement could implode.
I'd definitely like to hear about the rivalry between Russia and the British Empire

Uyghurs have made some common mistakes that Muslims often make. We china haven't bombed any cities, not even a building, and we don't have a policy of racial segregation. Everything is fine now. The BBC is filming a movie about concentration camps outside a 1.8-meter fence, they may not be able to find a suitable place either. Israel's financial situation is clearly much better than that of China, with their walls at least 5 meters high, just like the Trump Walls. It's very simple, right?
Cotton is political propaganda aimed at Americans, who are fighting a technology war with China but are unwilling to acknowledge China's agricultural mechanization. We can force drivers to work, yes we can .but we cannot force hundreds of thousands of drivers. We don't have that much equipment. These are not difficult to understand.

This video covered the 1904 British India invasion of Tibet, but it didn't cover all the others in the late 19th century. The British would invade Tibet, slaughter Tibetans, loot, rape, and then they would approach the government of Tibet, which was the Qing dynasty of China, and demand ransom to leave, which the Qing always paid.
It's also interesting how Simon seems to have not bothered to study Tibetan history at all with his opening remarks. Tibet has seldom been peaceful historically. Despite this, they were largely left alone by China until they invaded China following the Tang Civil War and attempted to conquer vast swaths of Chinese territory. This forced China to view Tibet as a threat to be neutralized. Following that invasion, Tibet has always been under some form of Chinese governance, hence why they are peaceful now.
Occupying for your security?? That's the classic Colonists mentality. Get over it!!!!
@@dreamadventure8220 Interesting, so you don't think that the U.S. should have occuped Japan after WWII? The U.S. should have simply let them rebuilt and try again at making an empire?
@@jasonjean2901 The US didn't colonize Japan, you're making a false equivalence. Japan is not a territory of the US and governs itself with its own military to defend itself.
@@eminencerain848 Yeah, sure. The U.S. didn't flood Japan with military bases, especially Okinawa. Oh wait, they did, and they are still there, even though most Okinawans don't want them to be (they keep electing in governments whose primary mandate is to get rid of the U.S. military bases in Okinawa).
Chinese Bot identified lol. Way to gloss over so much of China did just to lay blame on someone else and point the finger somewhere else. China was never the bad guy right?
The name Chiang-Kai-shek imprinted in front of the communism Chinese flag is the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen😂
Yes definitely the Great Game video
One divisive topic in Chinese politics is the balance between central authority and regional autonomy, particularly concerning regions like Tibet, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong. These issues often spark debate and differing opinions among citizens and policymakers.
The red bandits never had the mandate of heaven
Great channel again .
Please have Evan or Danny write the British/ Russian colony script.
Yes!! I’d love to know about the Great Game. Maybe we should not be encouraging a new channel ‘Simon’s Documentaries’ 😂 to add to your already take-over of CZcams. Although I’d watch anyways 😁
I'm guessing there are no planned visits to China for Simon in the foreseeable future!
Yes, I would also like to to see a video on the Britian / Russia attempts at colonization of Tibet.
Another cheap wumao 😂
"If that is something you'd like to see a video on in the future, let us know"
... Wait, you need to ask? This is probably my favorite channel of yours and they are often quite illuminating on things I had no idea existed. EDUCATE US WITH YOUR SMOOTH VOICE!
2:27
Absolutely!
Would be nice to make this video after you visit Tibet
1:20 - Chapter 1 - De facto independence
4:15 - Chapter 2 - Annexation under duress
7:55 - Chapter 3 - Under communist rule
13:45 - Chapter 4 - The tibet autonomous region present & future
Even if Tibetans are protesting Daily(With the funds of USA/CIA)..their Main Daddy The pedo Dalai Lama Already stated that he doesn't want tibet to be independence from china in his recent interviews lmao😂😂😂
What fascinating the most is some random guys trying to justify this brutal occupation. Being a Tibetan and exiled , nothing angered me more than some outsiders flaunting comments on how much the roads and infrastructure have improved in Tibet , completely ignoring the human rights and challenges Tibetans facing both living inside or outside of Tibet . These developments are most likely to happen even if CCP didn’t take the time to brutally killed and destroyed our homes and monasteries in the name of modernisation. I don’t remember learning that our ancestors have made the call for the CCP to come in our rescue . No country’s history is beautiful but that doesn’t give another country the right to intervene.
@10:40 If I remember correctly (forgotten the source) the One Child policy did not apply if you moved to Tibet.
Great Game!
This was a good video, excellently researched. Now we need one on China and Taiwan.
I know you’re asking for an ‘Into the Shadows’ one, but in the meantime Geographics has one on Taiwan, and Warographics has a few related to it as well.
Do you mean Republic of China?
@@--enyo-- True, but an Into the Shadows on the history and relationship between Taiwan and the RoC would be interesting.
@@tibetanchineseofchina Sure, yeah...that.
@@comettamerWhat are you talking about, Taiwan *is* the RoC, and has been that way ever since the Japanese were forced to hand the island to the RoC following their defeat in WW2. Today, Taiwan is, demographically speaking, more Chinese than the PRC, with 99% of its population ethnically Han Chinese
I love the irony of China using the Yuan dynasty as a reason for subjugating neighbouring cultures.
Which is more interesting than the Bible of Israel?

As Chinese, we are more concerned about how to let the Indians restore their territory in North America.
I guess you never know Qing dynasty. And u think every region is capable of self government and independent? Look at South Africa after ending apartheid to let local black rule themselves. Guess what happened? It's worst than apartheid times. Many South Africa black even envy the era of apartheid periods. Same as mongolia vs inner Mongolia. The inner Mongolian are so happy to be under CCP rule if not they will be like their Mongolia brothers, poor and corrupted. ill efficient. Mongolia just have a massive protest 10 months ago against their own government for corruption, and ill competent to tackle the problem of destitute and poor economy of Mongolia.
They couldn't pretend history did not exist, right?
Furthermore, some Mongols south of the Gobi stayed with Ming after Yuan was overthrown in 1368.
Mongols always tend to move south. Mongolian nationalists nowadays prefer to downplay this.
Love the chair Simon
The CCP is doing similar things to Inner Mongolia. I hope that the CCP falls and China splits into different countries. I wish that the British Empire did that during the Opium Wars. This world would be so totally different. However, eliminating one evil only brings rise to another... That's just how it is.
I doubt there's such a thing as a "willing vassal".
Oh, but it's happened before. Throughout history there have been multiple times when a country becomes a protectorate of another in exchange for military defense.
its definetly a thing!
the promise of power & money made alot of ppl willing participants in their countrys submission over the millenias!
Do you think China forced South Korea to use its national flag? Do you know Yin and Yang? They placed the pattern invented by China 3000 years ago on the national flag. European kings require recognition from the Pope, while Asian kings require recognition from the Chinese emperor. Did the kings of Europe voluntarily accept the coronation of the Pope? The Chinese emperor will not decide who becomes the king, which means war. They first became kings and then notified China, which recognized them. This is the East Asian order. You can compare the European order.
I wonder how history would have turned out if the Tibetans had not been pacifist but had been warrior monks who fought like Gurkhas.
...theeen they would all be dead!
Sounds intersting, please do that video
I would like to see a video about the great game
"The best way to resolve any problem in the human world is for all sides to sit down and talk." -- Dalai Lama
the sad ruth is, it is easier to talk when you have a big stick.
Oh. Is that why The Dalai Lama had orphans sent to the US to be trained in guerilla warfare by the CIA while receiving a million dollar a year paycheck from said CIA? That was back in the 70s I think.
He always says things that everyone knows
"Yes, that is the most British shit ever!" Holy 💩 I snorted my water out my nose!
I guess you won't be travelling to China, ever. Good job on this. :)
We want to hear about the native people of Amerika and Australia plus New Zealand
