  • Thinking about visiting or moving to Blairsville? Here are the top 7 things you'll want to do and see in this great little town.
#7 Scenery - Blairsville sits in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, so no matter which direction you head in you are going to be surrounded by beautiful scenery and views. A really great drive through and out of Blairsville is Blood Mountain. It is a very popular, windy mountain road that gives you some great views.
#6 Coffee Spots - As you get ready to start your day in beautiful Blairsville, the first thing you want to do is stop for some coffee, and we have several great coffee shops here. From popular retail spots like Dunkin' and Starbucks to local spots like G&G Grinds and Glazes and Cabin Coffee, we have something for everyone. My favorite coffee shop in Blairsville is Cabin Coffee. They have some really great specialty coffees, pastries, and breakfast options. It also has a super cute mountain vibe with some fun cabin decor everywhere.
#5 Hiking - It wouldn't be the mountains without some great hiking spots. We have many different areas with varying difficulty levels for hiking. If you enjoy more leisurely walks or looking for a good exercise walk, trails like Nottely Trail and the trails within Meeks Park are really good options. If you prefer something a little more adventurous, then hikes like Brasstown Bald and Arkaqua Trail are some great hikes to check out. Both of these hikes are definitely more strenuous, but the views are definitely worth it.
#4 Waterfalls - Blairsville has a couple awesome waterfalls. One is in Vogel State Park, and can actually be seen from the road as you are driving by. Another one is Helton Creek Falls, and has an upper and lower portion, with a little wading area in the lower portion. Helton Creek has an interesting little drive to get through. After going through a small neighborhood, you come to a dirt road with a sign indicating the falls are 2 miles ahead. This is a narrow road with a lot of switchbacks, making it difficult to see if other cars are coming around the corner so you'll want to exercise caution getting to this great little spot. There's also a small little hike to get to the falls from the parking lot, but it's not bad, just a few stairs and then a little pass over a small creek area.
#3 Lake Nottely - Blairsville has an awesome lake for boating, kayaking and fishing, among other water activities. The views of the mountains surrounding the lake is actually what helped to prompt my family moving to this lovely town. We had been visiting the area for years, but when we got out on the lake to kayak a couple years ago, that sealed the deal for me, and we moved less than 6 months later.
#2 Shopping - Blairsville has a charming downtown area filled with local businesses. There are several shops offering farmhouse decor, t-shirts, hats and other locally made art and home decor. The local business owners are also very committed to supporting local artists, which I think is great. I love supporting local businesses and enjoy hearing the backstory behind different pieces. One that caught my attention in town was a unique wooden and iron piece called 3 trees.
#1 Wineries - After you have spent your day adventuring around Blairsville, you have to end the day with a nice drink. We have a few wineries in the area, as well as a moonshine distillery. Paradise Hills and Odom Springs are a couple of the wineries, which offer wine tastings by the flight or you can purchase by the bottle. Grandaddy Mimms is the distillery, and they offer a variety of mixed drinks with their moonshine.
This video highlights all the different things to see and do in Blairsville, but if you are looking to move to the area, then you have to call me. I love it when people reach out, and I would love to help you move here. Please subscribe, like and comment on the video. Thanks for watching!

Believe it or not, I have not made it to the Hole in the Wall yet! I know it’s a staple here, but we don’t eat out much for breakfast and lunch, so I’ll have to make sure to check this out and add it to a new video!!

Actually Meeks Park is TWO parks. On both sides of Rt 76. One is a scenic trail park with a pool tennis, skateboarding and like that. In the other park - dog walking and a large Disc Golf course.

Love your vids young lady. An ex-neighborbof mine moved from Ocala to Blairsville and has been living at Branan Lodge for many years. I am thinking of moving there or someplace similar. It would be very helpful if you mentioned the top places for seniors to live in the N. GA towns. I guess Blairsville, Blue Ridge
and Ellijay would be on my short list for now. Thx.

I’m glad you’re enjoying my videos. All towns in the North GA mountains are great for anyone, regardless of age! 😊 All 3 towns you mentioned are wonderful and all are welcoming!

The further away from Atlanta, the lower the crime rate. Blue Ridge is lower than Ellijay; Blairsville lower than Blue Ridge.
      We live outside of Blairsville.
      Beautiful with wonderful people.

I had a key mistake at Hanging Bridge. I got nervous too. Back of my truck was open TG. Luckily I got rescued before dark. I totally get it.

Really enjoyed your video. My sister lives in bishop Georgia and she suggested a couple mountain towns for us to visit. Helen was one I was interested in. Her friend loves Blairsville & mentioned choetoe. We have a small camper van and wondered if there’s any remote place we could park to stay the night. We don’t really want to stay at a campground if possible. We live in Florida. I lived in Colorado for awhile and REALLY miss the mountains. Thank you so much for your video. We are also interested in purchasing a plot of land possibly with a shed that we could make into an off grid cabin.

Unfortunately I am not up on the camping scene, so I don’t know if there’s any spots you could park to stay. I am a real estate agent, so if you need help with the land purchase, please feel free to reach out! Helen is a great place to visit, especially during October. Choestoe over in Blairsville is a beautiful place with great views! Enjoy your trip & thanks for watching!

Can you tell us which short Nottely trail with lake view you did? We also have a furbaby that can’t walk far.

I don’t remember the specific trail I did in this video, but I believe it was a trail very near the Nottely Dam. There are a couple small parking lots with trailheads that lead around the lake, those are located right off of Hwy 325/Nottely Dam Rd.

One of the two Meeks Parks has a dog park with more than a mile of easy trails and friendly dog lovers. Even a tree memorial dedicated to passed on furbuddies. Safe and healthy.
