We used to have a cabin in Ellijay. We live in Tampa and went up there 4-6 times a year. We LOVE IT.
It’s a great place!
Don't go.
I grew up in north Georgia in the Rome area. I now live in northeast alabama on sand mtn. above Scottsboro. My wife and i are thanking about moving back to Georgia. Really Love your channel.
Much appreciated! Happy to help when you decide to come back to GA!
My wife and I moved from LA California to Alpharetta in 1993 when homes were dirt cheap. We like it MUCH better here than So Cal. I used to work in video production and have shot a ton of footage related to life in N GA. Anyone interested in a slice-of-life video can hit the green "C" to the left of this comment. I'm not trying to sell anything and my CZcams account isn't monetized. Just FYI footage.
Alpharetta was way different in ‘93!
super cool. i worked at Technicolor cutting 35mm trailers up til it shut down. out of cali awhile now but havent forgotten my trip thru n GA. taking another trip in Aug to find a place there. ill take a look at your flicks
Highly recommend Dahlonega it's such a awesome and peaceful place since I've been there
Agreed!
Agreed! Dahlonega is great!
Taking my family up to N GA in August. We stayed in Cherry Log (north of Ellijay) for a week back in March and LOVED it! This trip though is to scoute to see where we would like to move to within a year. We'l be staying somewhere between Canton, Dawsonville, and Dahlonega but we are looking as far north as Jasper. We have young kids so good schools will be important. preferably private schools over public and access to good medical facilities (Urgent care, pediatricians, hospitals) but we prefer smaller towns with lots of outdoor stuff for the kids. I've watched a bunch of your videos so I'm saving your contact info for when we decide on a town and are closer to a move date
Glad you enjoyed your trip to Cherry Log! Feel free to reach out when you get back up this way
Would you recommend Nashville? Thanks
Coal Mountain, Matt, and Dawsonville are exploding now and residual Metro Atlanta traffic is meshing there too
100%
I want to say thank you for being very informative May I introduce myself I'm Reggie and yes I am considering a move to Georgia preferably the Cobb County area maybe Gwinnett and that's because I'm not familiar with the burbs under that county However I like the perks that Cobb County offer I have been there and I do like Kennisaw Acworth I would like your expertise of advice when time permits Have a great day
Feel free to give me a call!
As a lifelong Northeasterner (currently New York City, but grew up in Northern NJ), I found this to be very interesting . I have no interest in moving to GA (except for some great roller coasters), but somehow I stumbled upon this. I appreciate your analysis and information. It does provide some insights into how people in the same country (or State)can have such widely divided political opinions. Plus....you seem like a nice person...
Thank you!
I moved from NYC to Cartersville, GA at the end of 2016. LOVE IT .
@@philipberger621 Cartersville is a great place
Good job posting this 👇 👌 👉 🙌
Thank you
How do you work from home? I'd be interested and N. Georgia looks so beautiful. I'm originally from Oregon and cannot stand living in Forida anymore. I don't want to go back out west. I want to move to GA. I miss the mountains and snowfall.
Best way to search for internet speeds in an area is via broadbandmap.fcc.gov/home
Not all angels have wings. God bless.
Thank you!
Which cities have more younger people?
If i had toi choose between those 2, i would also move to Georgia somewhere near or in Atlanta, for good job opportunities, good universities and climate not being as opressive as Florida. But overall in USA if i would ever move from Europe, then either Boston Massachussets or Richmond Virginia. Ok Richmond has better climate but i have some friends in Boston and i think Boston has better payed jobs.
I LIKE FARTHER NORTH LIKE BLAIRSVILLE, OR HIAWASSEE AND ARE BOTH GREAT. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
They are great!!
Yes they are!
How is Waynesboro in terms of jobs, crime rate and prices on houses?
I use datausa.io for those kind of stats
Graduation from UNG with a degree in CSCI, I can promise you the internet is dog 💩. Plugged in Ethernet I’d get 12mbps with windstream (the only provider with lines). In Cumming I have over 1GB speed. So over 100x faster speeds. The internet in Dahlonega is terrible.
Also when the line got cut to our university, the entire school was offline for days before windstream finally sent people out to fix the line. Days later, the professors from the CSCI department went to inspect where the line was cut and windstream still wasnt there
Since then we’ve had two dedicated lines. But just think - In 2023 you can take the military college of Georgia offline just by cutting a line. Insane.
I FEEL YOUR PAIN!
I’ll call you before I move to Hiawassee
Please do!
4:10 shows the map 👍
Which townes should we be looking for USDA loan
Most of North GA will be USDA eligible. Check out the USDA eligibility map to research specific towns: eligibility.sc.egov.usda.gov/eligibility/welcomeAction.do
Do you think jasper is just as rural as Dahlonega?
Pickens (Jasper) and Lumpkin (Dahlonega) Counties have a similar population.
I’m thinking that the mountains would be a wonderful change from NYC. Are the mountain roads steep?
It’s a great area! The roads can be steep in certain locations, but not everywhere
@@livinginnorthgeorgiawtimgi2664 I’m going to reach out when I’m ready to start looking for some land.
Please do!
Listen for Banjos.
LOL
Georgia is a big state
Agreed. 59,425 square miles to be exact
Is it safe to live and work in Resaca, Georgia?
The best resource I can give you is a website called datausa.io and niche.com. You can research everything about a city or town with those sites
We are simple country people. We like quiet and friendly, away from the Starbucks Tesla crowd. We live in Texas but have been overtaken by California green hair left leaning types. Where in Northern Georgia can we escape that for “Mayberry” feel?
Dahlonega, Jasper and Cleveland would be good places to look
Go to Florida West coast. Laid back.
@@marknewton6984any suggestions where? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
@@jenamaste131 Tampa to Sarasota, anywhere near coast.
Clayton, Cleveland, Hiawasee and Gainesville if you don’t mind a little bigger town.
I'm nicholas, where can I get 2bdrm 2bath apartment at a reasonable price in georgia?
Hi Nicholas. Give me a call and I’ll be happy to help
You can't.
Are rattlesnakes an issue in North Georgia?
North GA does have Timber & Pigmy Rattlesnakes. Here’s a link for more info: georgiawildlife.com/georgiasnakes
@@livinginnorthgeorgiawtimgi2664 Thank you. Are they seen often?
@@JamesG1126 I've lived here my whole life and i've seen less than five.
Yes they are everywhere in Dahlonega if you move here you will die from rattlesnake affiliated stuff and thangs😅
Only thing worse than rattlesnakes are the gnats. Be careful!
Hey buddy, Atlanta is in North Georgia.
It is, but not to people who live North of the ATL Metro area
As a black man from south Georgia i was in Helen and the people were nice to me maybe too nice but, I had a great time with the Trump supporters. 😂😂😂😂
Is it true Atlanta is not safe or does it just get a bad reputation? Whats the biggest difference from south and N. GA? I don't like Florida.
@@Dman3827 Every big city has crime it's not like it's the wild west here. The area he's refering to is mostly mountainous area. A lot of mom and pop stores your near the Tennessee border.
DONT DO IT !!!!
Kids go missing
Meth dealers abound
crime rate very high
Beautiful but the scenery is distracting when you need to keep your eye on the people
Where in Georgia?
Sounds like Oregon and Florida. That's everywhere sadly.
She sounds like a paranoid person. What she describes is literally in every state.
