jets sound like freedom!
Yep…that’s what we say in VB…”the sound of freedom”. Noise complaints stopped after 9/11.
Don’t forget the jack, since you have the spare tire and lug wrench
Just a small tip on tie straps, Your hooks should have safety spring clips on them so they can't come unhooked if given enough slack to do so while traveling. I have also seen where guys wrap electrical tape around them to keep them from coming unhooked. I myself would prefer the safety spring clip type just for ease of hooking and unhooking. I congratulate you two on getting this trailer but it still requires staying at a air B&B or motel. Enjoy your travels as much as i enjoy your blogs. God Bless.
Now your talking. Good choice. Have heard good things about the Stinger trailers. You’ll enjoy your travels more for sure. Especially the bad rain storm you comfortably drive thru inside the car. Now the planning starts. Hope to see you guys soon. Hi to Miriam.
Very nice trailer❤ it
I love mine. I used it traveling to W. New York state and back to SC
You will need the canadian map , and the Quebec one in détail ! Can’t wait to have you again here 😉
❤❤❤
Congratulations 🎊. I bought an enclosed trailer for my Spyder back in March and I have enjoyed having it.
john just a suggestion - the best way to secure the trike is to simply use 4 straps on the lower A-arms. two going forward two going backward. This will allow the trike to move up and down but the straps will always be tight. don't worry about the back of the trike as it cant move unless your spyder is hinged in the center
I have one of these too & yes it is heavy than the video shows, definitely not a one person job! Especially when you get it to that pivot point. I had to install a small chain winch in my garage to assist me folding & putting it down ! Plus they didn’t tell you where to put the stop plates , so first time on I hit the front of my spyder. The trailer rides very low & does bottom out on low pavement so even with using an adjustable hitch on my vehicles . Installed an attachment on the front rail that holds the spare tire.
Good luck & watch your back!

I have the same problem for drones as I live within a couple miles of Wright Patterson Air Base in Riverside/Dayton Ohio.
Yep, this is how it begins...
Buy a fun toy, find accessories for the toy, then soon a heavy duty 4x4 that will tow the toy. 😂😂
I am looking for one for my ryker , I am 63 and was worried of the weight , nice to see this video this will give me a better info , I think the ryker one is a bit smaller I have to check this out. ( i have the same issue in parking it in my drive way) and need to put it away in winter. ( Yellow my ryker is already a the shop to get mods and for the winter)
Keep us up-to-date. I guess CZcams didn’t like my first comment didn’t understand why.
Happens to me sometime too!
@@miriambryant1896I would like one for the weight because I have a crv and it gets 35 mpg on the hiway not 16 like GMC.
John I was under the impression that you were going to have some kind of a camper trailer in tow so you won't need to stay in hotels and AirB&Bs but hey I do like the hauler for the trike. Yes most of them are made with heavy duty steel which is what you want when hauling a bike in the back of your automobile or SUV, So what have you decided on as far as camper trailer? Maybe a SUV that is a RV would be the ticker.
We are looking at the hiker trailer towed by our suv…without the spyder. Still going to enjoy the Spyder, just want to have some travel
options.
@@miriambryant1896 Got it yes I looked at the Hiker as well which is good option as it is far better than staying at a motel for a few days.
I like the Stinger trailer, however, I am looking for a 6'x10' (min) open trailer much like the Holmes 6x10 I had since I like the usefulness of being able to use a trailer for multiple functions. Doubtful that I will ever get back into an RV again. My last was a 31-ft 5th wheel. I looked at th wheel toy haulers as well as some Class C toyhaulers. Those costs as well as the cost of a Class A, B, or C makes it prohibitive at this time.
Now, that is a very enticing trailer !!! I see several advantages. The biggest advantage is the ability to travel when the weather is bad (too hot, too cold, rain or snow storms) while in the comfort of your SUV yet still bringing the Spyder along to tour around on along the way. Also, you won't need to replace Spyder tires as often or rack up high mileage on the Spyder as quickly as you would riding the Spyder on every trip. Excellent addition to making your travels easier 😁👍👍
Where did you buy the trailer and what did it cost. Why didn’t you consider an aluminum trailer ?
This will take your traveling to a whole new level. Congratulations!
I almost bought a Stinger. I think you’re wise to do so. It should help when you get your dream RV camper
Congratulations on the new "thing"! Can't wait to see many videos to come.
Looking good John for weather probs. I stay tuned now to find out how this is gonna reduce your travel airb&b expenses.
Congratulations. Looks like a great way to travel. Enjoy your new trailer and can't wait to see how you'll use it on your upcoming adventures.
Excited for you! Lots of new adventures coming ❤
Congratulations guys! This is exciting for you for future traveling! A bigger map...hmmm.... That sounds pretty exciting too! 🤗🎉 John, looks like the cold beer was well earned! 🤗💜
I have had the same problem with the tiny cotter pins for my Stinger Combo trailer. I would like to know what pins you got, size, brand etc. I lost several on a few hundred miles. The heavy tape is required. I hadn't thought of the Red reflective tape. Great idea!
Congratulations very nice trailor looks very sturdy have a great day
Can't wait to see the video you make when you fold this up for the garage. None of us is getting any younger!
felicidades por ese nuevo ¨juguete ¨. Eso os da mas posibilidades de viajar. Que lo disfruteis
Tank your hitch to a local shop and have it properly tightened. The torque spec is way up there. Worst thing that can happen is the trailer to come lose.
I like that trailer. Looking forward to seeing how you will tie the Spyder down for trips and seeing the upcoming trips with it
is there a place to mount the spare?
Did you say "Carter Pin"? I had a look at the Stinger but no where near ready for the sort of travel. What are you going to do with the Freedom trailer?
Keep the freedom trailer for shorter trips. That’s the plan right now. Nice to have the flexibility of different travel modes. The cold wet of New England got us thinking about other options.
We’ve gone the toyhauler direction, just bought a 2020 heartland FUEL, 27 ft trailer, getting it set up for next year!
Love my Stinger trailer! Added the same strips for traction. I did install a small electric hoist in the garage to assist in the folding and unfolding. That will save a lot of straining trying to fold and unfold the trailer by myself. Did have someone remove some bolts on me on the ramp while parked once, why I have no clue, but carry some extra with you just in case.
how do you mount a spare on trailer>
What do think to start with a Ryker? I want to travel with my wife, not so long distances. Do you think it will work?
If you can, test drive Ryker and Spyder before you make a decision. I feel the Spyder would be the better choice for traveling with a passenger, however. 😁
@@dawnreese1089 i have a ryker and if you are 2 on it , for short distance -100 miles ok , if more not the passenger seating is not very comfortable
So how come your neighbor has a trailer on his drive
It was only their temporarily while he was doing some work. Best guess is the city never noticed it
Congratulations 🎊. I bought an enclosed trailer for my Spyder back in March and I have enjoyed having it.
