In case you didn't know, he has a day of the week named after him, as does his father, and mother.
Odin's Day, became Wednesday. He's linked to the planet and character of Mercury, which is referenced in this film, at his speedy arrival, after waking.
Thor's Day, became Thursday. He's linked to the planet, and character of Jupiter. "By Jove", the old exclamation spawned the term "jovial", which could be used, in describing some of Thor's relations, but he's more-over displaying bluster, and brashness, at most events in this film, and is like the storm he arrives in, full of lightning, and thunder.
Freya's, or Frigga's Day, became Friday. She's linked to the planet, and character of Venus. She has an innate understanding of passion, and the motivations that dwell in the hearts of others, in this film. The choice of "Love" used for her, in the Marvel films, is one of "Motherly Love", and she is the enduring cohesive, and nurturing force for her family, through all situations.
    Tíw's Day, became Tuesday.
The Germanic "god of war" is linked to the planet, and character of Mars. The warlike tendencies are wrapped up, in Thor's early approach to situations.
Saturday, is Saturn's Day. Saturn is, basically, "Father Time", and is associated with wealth, renewal and liberation. He fathered Jupiter. Odin takes aspects of this role, in the film, as he, additionally, does hold a treasury hall, and liberated the people of Midgard, from the advancing Frost Giants. As the Sabbath, or seventh day is also one of rest, and renewal, we see Odin going into the Odin's Sleep, to renew himself. The Saturnalia festival, in winter, had people bring out the idol of Saturn in a red robe, and parts of this might have been rolled into the Santa stories, as St. Nicholas was from the Isle Of Crete, and though he was not following Roman religion, he may have donned the attire in winter, as a local custom.
    Sunday, is The Sun's Day.
The Sun, is linked to the character Apollo. Perhaps, Heimdall could have a link, to The Sun (or the lesser known symbol of The Black Sun), as he oversees all. There's a clear zoom in, on one of his eyes, when he's temporarily frozen. This is, clearly, a reference to the all seeing eye.
One eyed Stuart The Minion, from Illumination Studios?
I mean, they are not even trying to hide things, anymore.
    Monday, is The Moon's Day.
The Moon, is linked to the character Diana. Diana is the huntress, and Jane Foster, "searches", and researches. Interesting to note, she runs into Thor twice. Maybe, some greater relevance, but I don't know, yet. I guess, Thor is associated with The Sun, as he goes into darkness, after being run over. Two eclipses, must be, the reference.

Man I haven’t watched the first Thor in ages, Thor is such an amazing character. Yeah, he’s a little impulsive and Hot headed and entitled but he was sort of raised on a pedestal compared to Loki. He had to learn to not be. It’s him maturing as much as it is a hero film. LOKI, you’ll come to find that he’s a deeply fascinating character, you’ll see more of him definitely throughout the Thor movies and Marvel in general, Tom Hiddleston played him well.
First look at Clint Barton AKA Hawkeye ( the guy with the arrow when Thor was trying to get his Hammer), you’ll see him again in Avengers. 😄

Mmmm... idk about that. Loki would've die when he was baby if it wasn't for Odin. Some ppl just have issues... they're born with a lil bit of darkness in them. N almost everyone has dark thoughts.. its what u choose to do tho. Like my brother n I. I'm the oldest but I wasn't favored at all... at least naturally.. if anything it was the opposite cause he was the "baby". N if I was being favored it was cause my brother was just a demon child n was always causing trouble as far back as I can remember n I was very mild mannered in comparison. N our dad wasn't the best dad but he wasn't the worst either. The only times we were treated differently was when my brother got into trouble. So if he ever thought I was being favored was his own fault n I wasn't really being favored I just wasn't getting disciplined as much. So like Loki n Thor.. they're both arrogant but Lokis arrogance feels more narcissistic.. thats y Thor learns his lesson n becomes much more humble n y Loki never seems to learn his. It's always someone else's fault. N im not saying there isn't good in Loki... it just doesn't appear very often. IMHO

I actually had the comic book, where Thor faces off, against The Destroyer.
Verily, Thor be a rival, most mighty.
This film was directed, by Kenneth Branagh, whom is widely known, for his work in Shakespearean adaptations for film.
It is more accessible for modern audiences, without the antiquated Elizabethan English language, and it must have been a challenge, for Mr. Branagh to avoid using it, however, the language used in the comics, holds a place in my heart, always.

Leo, truth is, Loki was right. Tom did such an amazing job with this role which is why the Loki fandom is bigger and more dedicated than the Thor fandom, Tom is STILL the king of tumblr (Andrew Garfield is the princess diana!) But, he's right. In Norse mythology, one of the rules of battle is that you're not supposed to enter or desecrate your enemy's place of worship, in this case a temple. So Odin, being the all father, creator of all things, including that rule, he made that rule, he went into the temple and found baby Loki and presumed Laufey abandoned him because he was small. I mean he's a baby!! and he just presumed that a baby Jotunn would be bigger than the average baby. So he took him and raised him as his son, in the comics, their mother, isn't their biological mom, in a sequel, they end up finding out that Odin had a daughter prior to them, in the comics and the mythology Hela is actually Loki's daughter. The horse that Odin rides in the beginning is actually Loki's son that he birthed when he turned himself Into a mare.
Anywho, what Odin says later on about using baby Loki to bring permanent peace made no sense if he really thinks Laufey abandoned him cause if he did then wtf would he care that his enemy took his "deformed child" I mean he'd really just be doing him a favor by taking him. So offering a truce through Loki wouldn't make sense not to mention if he stole Loki qns Laufey hadn't really abandoned him, realizing your enemy stole your son would probably make the situation worse.
If you really pay attention to this movie and the 1st Avengers movie, everything Loki does and says has a purpose. The taunting of Black Widow, the pissing off Hulk etc. The plan with the Chitauri would of actually worked and the events of this movie and TDW would of worked if he would of just stayed focused. But his anger, rage and resentment towards Thor is what always gets to him thus his plans always fall through. In the sequel I believe he tells him, I never wanted to be king, I only ever wanted to be your equal. Which truthfully is heartbreaking because he spent his entire life being an obvious second fiddle to Thor just because he's the heir and first born, Loki himself is actually smarter, quicker, and has better plans than Thor. Rigga loves Loki and clearly sees the favoritism Odin has Towards Thor, which is why she favors Loki but technically neither of them are biologically hers, and in the mythology, Loki isn't either of theirs nor is he Thors brother. He's also a redhead!! Odin gave himself away in that scene. Loki isn't truly evil, he's just been ostracized his entire life and he's just resentful so I can't blame him.
Edit: think about it. If you know your enemy is on the way to battle and hes not supposed to enter your place of worship where would you put your baby to keep him safe? The one place your enemy can't go Into. Therefore Odin did wrong by stealing him and lying. And entering and breaking his own rule.
Edit: in the Avengers movie, he wants to take over and ends up in Germany clearly 🙄 an obvious connection to Hitler, boreeee. And he's like, portrayed as a dictator, but he just wants people to acknowledge and love him like they do Thor. AND Thor being the eternal narcissistic doesn't get it.

The reactions you see on Chris Hemsworth's and Tom Hiddleston's faces are their real reactions to Anthony Hopkins' acting. They were dumbfounded
