Having said that, tampering with the device is not without consequences. In most juristictions, if you are party to a secured transaction (a loan in which the lender can seize an asset, such as a car), and if you default in your agreement (like missing a payment), the lender must reinstate the loan if the debtor cures the default, at least once. However, if the customer snips the wires on the GPS, that's a different story. Check out Uniform Commercial Code, Article 1, Part 3, Section 309 (Option to Accelerate at Will). If the lender believes in good faith that the prospect of payment has been impaired, that the lender is no longer required to reinstate the loan. The lender may demand that the customer pay off the entire loan balance within 10 days, every penny, or the lender may keep the car, keep the down payment, keep any payments made up until that point, and if there was a vehicle trade-in, the lender keeps that too. So look at how much you have left to pay. If you can write a check for that amount + repo + storage fees, it might not be much of a risk. But if you don't have that amount in your checking account, you could end up losing the car and everything you've put into since you got it. I've had plenty of customers who try to be cute, but it only works in my favor since it is my practice not to reinstate the loan, even if the customer is willing to make up the back-payments.
If you are financing and making monthly payments that means the car isn't yours until fully paid off. Until then the true owner of the car is the Bank that paid the dealership.

It will last long until they figure it out. Then they will have to track you down the old fashion way by your home and work address. Then they will have to go the utility company to see if you have a new address. The other is tracking by calling your phone.
CSA cut my car off and I was NOT late with the payment, my kid and I were stuck in the car over the weekend! We had to sleep in the car no food/water NOTHING!!! CSA claims it was a mistake I am so pissed off and they dont care NO REPURCUTIONS on them at all!! (CREDIT SECURITYACCEPTANCE)

I've never been late and definitely never missed a payment and they "accidentally" shut mine down for some reason on their end. It took almost 3 full days for them to straighten things out. It was actually 4 days but I was able to turn the key 5 times to get it to start for the first 24 hours. Of course I argued that those days were on them since I was immobile for 3 days but they didn't care. I told them next time the starter interupter was gone and I'd mail it back to them. They told me it was a felony to destroy their property. I told him it won't get destroyed and would be returned
@@samdino77 So what if you have a Passtime 6V Device and the relay is inside the box? Can you still do this and it work? I have to be at work tomorrow and don't get paid until 3 more days.
@@ashleymalone9156 yes thats should work. Same principle just carefully examine the wiring and see which wires intercept the starter wiring or sometime the brake switch if u have a push start and then bridge the wiring. Or turn your key to the on position and jump the starter relay with a wire to pin 87 to start your car
Both my cars have been payed for for years and both I have had since they were brand new and idek why I’m here but I have a question. Couldn’t you just snip the wires and take a drill to the killswitch/gps and it’s solved? Or would it make it to where your ignition would not make contact with the starter
if they ever repossess the car or do maintenance and find you damaged the gps/killswitch, they can sue you and bring criminal charges. It's stupid but it was probably in your contract, you're fine so long as you just bypass the system and not damage it.

Idk of this is similar to what the lil cats in my city b doing ‘ but they’ll rent a car ! And they take the tracking device out , switch the plates , scratch the Vin and keep it as they own car 🤦🏾♂️😭 I seen niggas have the car for years after those steps
Car loan company be trying to act all nice. Loan you a car. Then disable it. Because they don't feel so goodie goodie anymore. (Disable that gps as well.
I paid my car off and only afterwards I experienced my car getting killswitched WHILE DRIVING. Figured it was one of these corrupt mofos. Is all this stuff put in same area?
Most of the time yes....if not call the loan company to come get their junk off your car if paid off...if not check under hood around fuse box or under steering u should see it there and follow vid to remove or rewire
it really works if you just use the wire at he bottom of the device try and start it at the same time and it will start right away just like he said I have been doing it for 5 months the loan company can't track it it shows your car is still disabled to them when they check it
Lil Kill Production you're right on point it does along as you don't disturb the power signal just tap into the two bottom wires but beware everyone color ain't the same like he said mines was purple and blue.
Without touching the GPS kill switch, I just got under my truck and started it with a tool, touching the two necessary prongs on the starter itself together, worked fine, but my question is, does it notify them when I'm driving? Or do they have to specifically look up and track my vehicle to see it's been moving?
You welcome man am glad it helped u....all the best man...but be careful cos if they still track they can locate it and Tow it...u can remove it entirely if u want
The GPS is connected to a 12v power source...and a ground trace those wires and cut them or if connected using taps unplug it...and this will shut GPS down from communications and tracking
The question is, even though the car starts, the company should be able to see it has been moved via their gps right? In some places that is a felony. I actually saw a guy power his up to a 12 volt power supply before he removed it and then unhooked it. The unit is sitting on a shelf in his garage running off a 12 volt power supply. I kind of laughed and laughed. But man I am thinking the company would know it has been moved right?
And I do agree with Kenny below me. Bad things do happen to good people sometimes. Unfortunately though, companies are companies and they do not care. They are not in the business to loose.
That's right they will know it been moved..but this will buy you about two weeks to catch up with payments. And sure u can power it up and have it sit at location where it got disconnected
Mine has a Itruran 3G and it is wired a bit different. Not removing mine, was just proving to someone that when the dealer says you will never find it, it can and will be found. I removed my lower dash panel and the relay and beeper literally fell on the floor board ha ha ha!!! Nice job install guys.
depends on your car but mostly yes cos that's where they easily tap into the starter and ignition wires..another place could be under your seat or passenger under compartment..
samdino77 do they run them through the firewall I got two wires running through my firewall connected to the purple and blue wire on the passtime 3 box install look shitty and dangerous ass hell wires hanging just looks a mess man, and I don't Believe I was told that shit was in my car.. Was installing some led lights and happen to see that shit.. I've seen em before but never seen em installed like this man.. I believe if im not mistaking they got the starter wire running through the fire wall and the wire next to it may be the ignition I dont know but im pissed now.. What are your thoughts on this?
Don't risk having it repoed...if they see movement they 'll come for it. If u wanna get to the store go for other options. If u paying them tomorrow u can manage till tomorrow. If u think u can follow video to make it work go for it
As long as the car runs, I doubt it would affect the value at all. It's not like an accident that shows up on a CarFax report. And it's not much different than someone who installs an aftermarket radio or amplifier. Just that this is a GPS.
meantime you've left the GPS in place and once the loan company sees it move locations they know you've bypassed the kill switch and the repo truck comes and hauls the car away
well it's up to you what u wanna do either to remove device or get to where u wanna go at that time u stranded...the choice is yours I only demonstrated in case u find yourself in such situation

@@randallsexton3710, the is a seperate fee, or is just included in the price of the vehicle? Because I use GPS on every vehicle I sell, and I never list it as a seperate fee. If the customer were to pay for the device, then the argument could be made that they are now the owner of the device and can do as they please with it, such as remove it, disable it, or otherwise tamper with it. By not charging the customer for the GPS, the customer does not own the device, I do, and it clearly states that in the contract, that if the customer damages the device in any way, that he/she must reimburse me for the damage they did to my property.
John Davis, if it is equipment installed on a vehicle that they purchased from you, how is it not theirs? If it is in fact yours, couldn't they remove it and return it to you undamaged?
I imagine that on some newer vehicles that have satellite connectivity the car could be "hacked" by the manufacturer. There are videos on CZcams of police chases coming to a quick end after the suspect vehicle is remotely de-powered. Having said that, what was shown in this video was an aftermarket payment assurance device. There are some lenders who, like me, are leery of loaning an investment of thousands of dollars to complete and total strangers, especially if the stranger has established themselves a less than stellar credit history. Payment assurance devices mitigate the risks involved in such a loan and lenders might approve loans that they would otherwise reject. These aftermarket devices are not controlled by the manufacturer, but by the lender.
Help!!!!! I purchased a car and the car dealership put a GPS tracking device on it.And when the car was paid in full they didn’t remove the GPS tracking device. And I was having problems with my car I took it back to the dealership where I got it from. And they recommended the Chevrolet dealership and I took it to the Chevrolet dealership and they removed the GPS tracking device and now my car has shutdown. My question is:By them removing the GPS tracking device.Did it shutdown my car?
so is the gps actually disabled? after u did your part can they find you? after u tapped into the red and blue wire? is the gps still active? and they cant cut you off no more?
They may not be able to cut off the vehicle but you can best believe you are getting your car repossessed once they realize it's still being driven. Play stupid games win stupid prizes
Yes and no, but some of that depends on the state. I operate in Texas, and here there is a law against concealing mortgaged property (Texas Penal Code 32.47), but the last case that I could find in which someone was charged with it was before I was born. So it's a law on the books, but not really enforced. District attorneys have a lot on their plate that prosecuting someone for cutting wires on a GPS unit isn't exactly top priority for them. That doesn't mean that the lender is helpless however. Just because a lienholder can't find justice in criminal court doesn't mean that they can't pursue justice in civil court. I normally just repossess the car and refuse to give it back, even if the customer offers to make up any and all late payments. Which is legal for me to do under UCC 1-309 (Option to Accelerate at Will). If I believe in good faith that the prospect of payment has been impaired (like when the customer tampers with the GPS) then I can repossess the car and refuse to reinstate the loan. If the customer wants the car back, he has 10 days to pay off the entire loan, or I keep the car, I keep the down payment, I keep any payments made up until that point, and if there was a vehicle trade-in, I keep that too. If the remaining balance is just a few hundred dollars or a few thousand, it's probably no big deal for the customer to come up with the cash in 10 days. But if the customer owes 8k or more, not everybody has that cash on hand, if they did, they wouldn't be financing from me. Most try to raise the money by getting a loan from a bank or credit union. That often doesn't work because I make it a personal mission to report the repossession right away, so that it shows up on their credit history. When the bank pulls their credit, the bank will see that they're trying to get a loan on a car that they just had repossessed, and most banks aren't eager to do that. So in the end, we still have other avenues of achieving justice.
but u can use in case of emergency to move your car and pay later when u get the chance to pay them if not they will come tow unless u completely disconnect GPS and stop parking at yr home cos they have that address and park somewhere lol
When will they recognize you disabled it? Curious to know. I wouldn't do it due to I like my freedom and eventually they will know wasup and come get it.
Then I will suggest u leave it alone. This is only for a temporary solution to get u going till u catch up or if u wish to keep it permanently for other reasons. They will know soon as u get it disabled cos it will show on the map as non active.
Not really. It's all the same theory. It's just a relay that is spliced in between the starter circuit. If the relay "opens" (breaks the circuit) then the circuit is incomplete and the starter will not start. It's the same principle on a 2020 Ferrari, or on a 1948 Ford pickup with a Flathead V8. Honestly it'd be easier to hide on the 2020 Ferrari. The 1948 Ford pickup, the GPS would stick out like a sore thumb, practically screaming "please, cut me out of here!"
Terrell Cousar bro do it yourself 1. Find your starter cable 2. They more than likely installed a relay. When you find the relay bridge the starter wire and the colored cable they used to plit the current together4. Bridge the two wired together5. Reconnect the relay cover. 6. Start your car and enjoy your day
@@quincywhite3407 Hey bro, I found my Relay, however how do i know which wires i need to bridge? I dont know which wire is which? email me please firststep360@outlook.com. Id appreciate it.
my kills switch has been removed but there is a long gated oval thing under the dash that was blinking a green and red light now it just stays on and while I was driving my engine cut off and now the car won't turn over what do I do cause all the lights come on
If you certain that device u see is the GPS/communication device then if u trace two wires back they will be connected to the starter cable under the dash...and once u locate that joined from there or if there is a connector that the relay goes in then loop a wire and insert into that connector as u see from where I removed my relay
If you disconnect it without any power yea they will know...if they disconnect and u bypass to drive it they will know..this is not a permanent fix for u to keep but nust to buy you sometime to catch up at least not more than two weeks cos they will come to it still paynent is not made and still driving.
Ironically, I just installed a unit on a 2010 Chevy Impala, same year and model as yours. Anyways, to answer your question, there is no definitive answer. I can install the starter interrupter to anything that controls the starting system, such as the starter relay, the Passlock transponder (the part that communicates with your key that verifies that the car isn't being stolen and allows the car to start), or if I feel like it, drill holes through the firewall and run the wires to the starter itself. While I've seen some do that, drill holes through the firewall, I don't, because if the wires rub again the sharp metal that's left behind from the drill, it could cause a short, and that would be no good. As for which color the wires are, this isn't a 1980s action film where the good guy knows that to defuse the bomb you cut the red wire. The colors of the wires depends on what colors the manufacturers of the units chose to use. 10 years ago there were only a few companies that made these devices, and they were so expensive that I would only install them on sales that I thought were risky. But now, there are dozens, if not hundreds of different manufacturers that make these devices and they're dirt cheap, I now install them on every car before I put the car out on the lot for sale. None of the manufacturers have adopted a uniform color schematic for the device's functionality. So a green wire may serve one purpose on one unit, but serve a different purpose on a different unit.

you have to follow the guidelines until it is fully your car
use a fuse, between any of the two wires, that you jump. u can jump a switch, but not a load.
I wouldn't put a fuse in an inaccessible place, like under the dash.
Thank you!!
Ty you so much it worked!!!!!!!
You can pay your bills they still will cut you off of the system they’re using goes out,
iam gunna do this cut it right off my 1993 prelude I hope it works I have faithhhhhh bin 3 days trying to figure out whats wrong I think this video just won a grammie lol m
I Bought a car from an Auction and had the Title showing the car is paid off, I had the car shut off on me at a red light, took the dash apart once I got it home and found a tracking device and ignition disable device, it was a cheap 5 wire one I unhooked it pinged the signal back to the Dealership that sold it to me at the auction, wrote down their address and sent them their tracking device and ignition disable device .
What wire to use to connect at the bottom?
Got it thanks great video !! how long will it last though
It will last long until they figure it out. Then they will have to track you down the old fashion way by your home and work address. Then they will have to go the utility company to see if you have a new address. The other is tracking by calling your phone.
That doesn't stop the repo man from knowing where your car is at. But I think if you remove the GPS it voids your loan or something.
This is not a permanent solution it for emergency purposes..till u make yr payments and catch up before they come amd get it..
Yea, I woulda took that thing out, hid the truck and if they said anything I would say my mechanic said it was a bad alarm.

Hahaha what the hell?
it really works if you just use the wire at he bottom of the device try and start it at the same time and it will start right away just like he said I have been doing it for 5 months the loan company can't track it it shows your car is still disabled to them when they check it

disable one from our lot? tamper with It? we'll be there with the police. it's a felony in Texas.

I don't understand the video's at all
CAn this Be possible only in the new cars? Or can any car be hacked by the car maker?

If you make the payments then you shouldn’t have anything to worry about
Wtf u doing here than bozo
I put a new starter in my car last year
Can they press charges if you take the kill switch off
Yes and no, but some of that depends on the state.
Mine ain’t work what gauge wire you use
I've got a 2016 Kia Rio. I've found the starter interrupter. If I was to bypass it. Would the loan company/bank know it's been bypassed?
yes if they shut it down and see it moving in another location and no if they havent cos its got a tracker that tracks location

What color are the wires on a 2010 chevy impala and location?
John is absolutely right. That's the best answer u ok get.
