This song is about Aerith not wanting the OG storyline to play out, and that she wants cloud to figure out how to save her so they can be together. She confessed to him in the dream world because she doesn’t want to die, and was thinking about hiding there forever with him. This is gonna be a love story of legends if this plays out how I think it is

The crazy thing is that Cloud actually tries saving Aerith from Sephiroth impaling her but it's all in vain. I thought the OG game hit hard with the PTSD inducing death of Aerith but FF7 Rebirth hits harder since it showed that even if Cloud and friends were to write their own destiny there's still some things that can't be prevented from happening like Aerith getting killed so Gaia/The Planet can fight off meteor.

I have the personal theory that, it *did* matter. Were already firmly on Multiverse Theory's terf so, hear me out. in the OG timeline, before all this whisper and timeline and alternate reality shenanigans, Cloud never got the chance to save Aerith. at all. he stopped the attempt to be manipulated into killing her, but then Sephiroth came in and did it himself. in Rebirth instead of standing there doing nothing upon resisting the murder attempt, he *does* get to try and stop Sephiroth, and *Succeeds*. Now there are all the alternate timelines and realities where Aerith *Survived* the point of her destined death, now Aerith and all her multiverse selves, doomed to die and now ment to continue on, are kind of caught in the middle until the multiverse get's it's collective crap together and the whisper war is won. Black whispers Sephiroth wins and ????. White Whispers win and there will probably be a golden ending where everyone survives, even those who died before/ment to die. but that's just my personal thought's on the matter.
@@ciselkane05Nice, I played OG but cannot really remember. But, my take is, remake try to reimaging as much details in OG (and also other game/movie in FF7 universe), possibly plot holes too. And for Aerith, I hate to feel that she'll keep die, or if better merge with lifestream, even if we presented with multiverse. And so she can no longer in party physically (except clerith vs sephiroth maybe?). In AC there's many events that she (also Zack) helping the party from the background. Cloud clearly can communicate, and Tifa also can sense in the end, I think remake also consider AC.

Clerith is the canon date & the canon route -- the non-optional star-crossed love story since 1997: Aerith plays Rosa in 4 of the 6 dates & is Rosa in the credits -- Aerith has always been the default FFVII date
Aeriths date is the dev's choice. Its showcased not only in the credits, its the chosen date to display for the readers chapter digest in the ultimania for chapter 12, no one elses. Its also the image of choice for the ferris wheel GS trophy (goofy but still). The devs have decided which one is 'canon'. Even if none are, they decided Aeriths to be their choice for the way they see the story being played. They didnt have to display anything regarding GS dates because the story goes on fine without it, but they did. Same with the Costa del Sol scene on the beach. Its Clerith too.

Why are there so many clotis posting random things here? In the video about a song from Aerith to Cloud? It can't be about Zack, she didn't meet him on a street+ the church is obviously Aerith's and Cloud's spot, not her's and Zack's. No disrespect intended to Olly Alexander but some complete numpty in the BBC thought Dizzy was a better song than this. Not that Olly's song is bad but Loren Alldred is absolutely amazing in this song. It wouldn't have been too difficult to emulate Aerith's performance in the game on stage in Malmö with Loren. The flower bed effect would have been very easy to produce with LED screens and would have created a memorable moment.

And also just after the Game Awards, rumours swirled on Eurovision related groups that it was going to be the UK entry, but Olly was announced a couple of days later. There were very similar rumours about Rina Sawayama for 2023 that got the Eurofandom very excited, until Mae Muller was announced, and look how that went.
It's good that the developers have revealed that the song is about all of Aerith's loved ones. This makes the song far more beautiful and heartbreaking. A nice tie-in with her prayer at the end of the game.
Although Aerith's fate of death cannot be changed, Cloud can still cherish the living person ; the story of FF7 is to tell us: the deceased is gone, and compared with living in sorrow and pain forever because of the loss of a loved one, it is better to face the future, cherish those who are still alive and who love you; Tifa is a good girl and deserves to be cherished by Cloud.
Pretty sure the message of FFVII since the original game and Advent Children has always been that those who pass away are not truly gone. I agree that one shouldn't live in pain because they are still there with us. The lyrics of this song reinforce that message: that two people will eventually find one another again and be together forever.

Cloud and Aerith are the two everyone wishes could be together. But everyone also knows it is wrong because they were never meant to be together. So CloudxTifa and ZackxAerith is perfect sad as it may be.
If you pay attention to the song, it talks about destiny, love and reunion, they will meet again, because [spoiler] . . . . . . . Cloud saves her in another timeline.

I am supportive of Cloti, and if Aerith didn’t die, I do believe there would truly have been a competition between Tifa and Aerith for Cloud’s heart in terms of who he’d be with, and have always said that. If I may add my thoughts to the LTD. As far as the song goes, it really touches me. I cry a bit too. Yes, the song is for Cloud, but remember Cloud is carrying Zack’s hopes and dreams - and one hope and one dream was to be with Aerith, so I don’t count Zack out.

The difference about Tifa and Aerith is how love born. Tifa loves the true person hidden by his trauma. Aerith try to fill a hole in his heart. So Aerith forces things where Tifa don't need it. Clerith is the canon date & the canon route -- the non-optional star-crossed love story since 1997: Aerith plays Rosa in 4 of the 6 dates & is Rosa in the credits -- Aerith has always been the default FFVII date

Aeriths date is the dev's choice. Its showcased not only in the credits, its the chosen date to display for the readers chapter digest in the ultimania for chapter 12, no one elses. Its also the image of choice for the ferris wheel GS trophy (goofy but still). The devs have decided which one is 'canon'. Even if none are, they decided Aeriths to be their choice for the way they see the story being played. They didnt have to display anything regarding GS dates because the story goes on fine without it, but they did. Same with the Costa del Sol scene on the beach. Its Clerith too.

Hate this song. 😭 Aerith sung it as thought knowing what her future holds. Really makes the FF7 fans dread progressing in the game.
No disrespect intended to Olly Alexander but some complete numpty in the BBC thought Dizzy was a better song than this. Not that Olly's song is bad but Loren Alldred is absolutely amazing in this song. It wouldn't have been too difficult to emulate Aerith's performance in the game on stage in Malmö with Loren. The flower bed effect would have been very easy to produce with LED screens and would have created a memorable moment.

It's good that the developers have revealed that the song is about all of Aerith's loved ones.
This makes the song far more beautiful and heartbreaking.
A nice tie-in with her prayer at the end of the game.
Although Aerith's fate of death cannot be changed, Cloud can still cherish the living person ; the story of FF7 is to tell us: the deceased is gone, and compared with living in sorrow and pain forever because of the loss of a loved one, it is better to face the future, cherish those who are still alive and who love you; Tifa is a good girl and deserves to be cherished by Cloud.
Pretty sure the message of FFVII since the original game and Advent Children has always been that those who pass away are not truly gone. I agree that one shouldn't live in pain because they are still there with us. The lyrics of this song reinforce that message: that two people will eventually find one another again and be together forever.

Its absolutely fully for Cloud. Its confirmed . Like Cloud and Zack absolutely different people, why would she even sing about her past and new love in one song, Our street, city streets with cobblestones, our place and so on.
Cloud and Aerith are the two everyone wishes could be together. But everyone also knows it is wrong because they were never meant to be together. So CloudxTifa and ZackxAerith is perfect sad as it may be.

I am supportive of Cloti, and if Aerith didn’t die, I do believe there would truly have been a competition between Tifa and Aerith for Cloud’s heart in terms of who he’d be with, and have always said that. If I may add my thoughts to the LTD.
As far as the song goes, it really touches me. I cry a bit too. Yes, the song is for Cloud, but remember Cloud is carrying Zack’s hopes and dreams - and one hope and one dream was to be with Aerith, so I don’t count Zack out.

Everything happens naturally with her. She even worry to act too much when she talks about feelings... And it's the only date where Cloud is going to take the lead and resolve the situation.
The difference about Tifa and Aerith is how love born. Tifa loves the true person hidden by his trauma. Aerith try to fill a hole in his heart. So Aerith forces things where Tifa don't need it. This is how love works. If it comes naturally, then it's true.
Nothing wrong with liking Tifa trying to give Aerith away like a consolation prize will always be a eye roll. The girl fell in love with Cloud, game hits you over the head with it.
