My favorite is the main version with Cloud and Aerith looking at eachother in love and the petal falling but this one with barret is actually so sweet too 😂seeing them both hugging like that
And it's actually funny seeing that Barret makes Cloud sway together at the end of the song too 🤣

Don't forget that Aerith checked on Cloud in the Golden Saucer Inn and the Ferris Wheel date in the original, too. It's always been Aerith.
What was the inspiration behind No Promises to Keep?
Uematsu: Since it is a ballad, I wanted to make it absolutely electrifying. I was asked to make the song so that the key phrase would play in repetition, and that’s when Harry Nilsson’s “Without You” came to mind. I took inspiration from it and decided to repeat a key phrase in the chorus.
How did you feel when you first listened to “No Promises to Keep?”
Uematsu: This is the first time I’ve heard this, and I’m glad she sensed exactly what we were aiming for. “No Promises to Keep” is a love song. I wanted it to exude a sweet feeling, but at the same time, evoke the complex feeling as Aerith confessed her feelings. I tried to build up the song as it climaxed, exactly as Loren described
Was there anything you paid attention to when singing “No Promises to Keep”?
Loren: I wanted to get to know Aerith well, and I also wanted to depict her relationship with Cloud. So, for me to channel her fragile and pure personality, I needed to change certain elements of my natural vocals to match up with her character.
No Promises to Keep was inspired by, “Without you” I just listened to the version Mariah Carey sings in Tokyo and wow, you need to listen to it.
sounds like Melodies Of Life + Eyes On Me, and some vibes of Celes singing in FFVI

I'm reaching the ending chapters of Rebirth and I'm so conscious of every second because i know what's coming. 😢 I am a fan of Tifa. But Aerith will also hold a place in my heart. She deserves so much. The original game was already emotional.

Hell yeah, in remake i was always only "shut up Barret" and then rebirth changed it from "maaaan you're annoying" to "man you're a sappy and kinda adorable big softie" after his side quests 😅 only bc of cute lil Leni! ❤

Now Barret date makes more sense, he understood what was going on between these two and his lines to Cloud are more meaningful, he was basically telling Cloud to confess to Aerith before it’s too late.
He definitely realized cloud's feelings before cloud even realizes Lol. Barret noticed how overprotective cloud was to Aerith during that whole Shinra rescue mission.
@@kairi3602 i wouldn't be so sure of that. Barret's story is really similar to cloud's. Even if he didn't know himself per say. The devs intended doing that. And Barret definitely knew Aerith's feelings during her performance which was why he kept pushing cloud to notice it too during her performance.
@@user-ky8nd2rz4f i really don't get them. I mean sure they said LTD is there but they never said none of the girls was favored. It was always Aerith since OG. I think it's just now they can't ignore her scenes like in OG and it kind of makes them in denial

I'm pretty mixed on the FF7R games, but being able to participate in a VR showing of LOVELESS and then hearing Aerith sing was absolutely phenomenal as a fan of FF7 and Compilation.

Any idea how I get the scene where Aerith sings "No Promises To Keep"? I know it's during the chapter 12 date night thing, but the only account I've heard so far is to get high Tifa bond rating, which doesn't really seem right to Me. Ever since I've heard this song it's become a HUGE part of my life, and I'd love to hear it on my first go around of the game. I'm on chapter 10 right now, and I'm not really going yo play until I get an answer, because I still have time to boost Aerith's rating if I have to.
she sings 4/6 dates, if you go for tifas gondola date she still sings, same applies for cait/cid/vincent, unsure about yuffie tho. personally i think aiming for aerith is more worth it tho bc they add a small scene to the performance which is very meaningful imo
going high on tifas affinity has nothing to do with it i promise:) only thing you get through that is the optional gondola date scene with them her high affinity doesnt affect anything else

It's Main Story line but gets affected by your choices and conversations beforehand with Aerith.
If you want her, just do the side quest that she interacts with and don't finish the side quest that others takes part of (yet).
Lol most people use the Tifa date so it's nice to see the Barret one

@user-ky8nd2rz4f So Cloud and Aerith. Okay, thank you for the answer. I was starting to get confused. They also fit together quite well. Tifa is good too, but I always thought Cloud and Aerith were cute together.
Aerith is the canon love interest of the game. The multiple dates and Rosa versions are just optional fan service. During the end credits when they show scenes from the whole game they show Rosa Aerith. Also when Cloud first met Aerith it was in front of the theater where loveless was playing. This whole scene is a full circle moment for them it has nothing to do with Tifa.
Both of them are true. In Cloud’s timeline, both Tifa and Aerith love Cloud and both ships are canon, but Aerith lets Cloud have Tifa in the end…😢
quite simple. when enix had to pick a soulmate pair for kingdom hearts, they didnt pick tifa.
also even in AC cloud work as a flower delivery man and is always late because he take the longest route, and in the end we see wich route is this, he always drive by a flower field, and he keeps a flower on his work desk. he never let her go of his heart.
I think CloTi is canon. Nothing wrong with the couple. But I just like Clerith’s chemistry more

The entire song is a foreshadowing of Aerith's fate and it is clear that she knows about this at this point. While she accepts it is a heart rending experience.

This is about Zack. Cloud is literally right there and she sings “meet again” - also the church is her and Zack’s spot. He was there way more than Cloud ever was.
Nope. Zack's awesome and all, but he even approves of Cloud and Aerith. It's not "Zack's spot." Cloud is the one she travels and see's the world with. It's obvious she'd fall in love. Also, the very end of FF7 and in Advent Children it constantly has Cloud reaching for Aerith's hand. And well, the eyecontact in the sign.
...And Final Fantasy Tactics, Kingdom Hearts would beg to differ.

Cloud x Aerith is canon
Although Aerith's fate of death cannot be changed, Cloud can still cherish the living person ; the story of FF7 is to tell us: the deceased is gone, and compared with living in sorrow and pain forever because of the loss of a loved one, it is better to face the future, cherish those who are still alive and who love you; Tifa is a good girl and deserves to be cherished by Cloud.

Thats actually really unfortunate this scene is so powerful a mix of the gracious voice, seeing the close relationships of the characters, the elegance of Aerith and the view of the old crew makes many including myself teary eyed

@@boopnoodle6947 because I bought and finished the game and I consider that this scene is innocuous, sterile and they could have used that development time to recreate the death of Aeris in a dignified way and not how they ended up destroying that scene and finally by buying and consuming a product I gives every right to criticize it.
