- Small DIY kitchen renovation, start to finish! In this video, I'm showing you how I refinished our butcher block countertops, installed floating shelf hardware and shelves, new window installation, how I spray painted your kitchen cabinets like a pro, how I made our refrigerator look built in, how to tile your own backsplash .... and what happens when the previous homeowners cut corners and leave you to clean it up 😳
Big thanks to Wagner for sponsoring this video! I really like the Flexio 3500 paint sprayer. It's a good one to have for a variety of interior and exterior projects. Check it out here: bit.ly/3XQMKQX

What do you think? Was it a successful renovation? Let me know if you have any questions! And be sure to check out more home projects here! czcams.com/play/PL6peVeFdch3UMNgZJ-XXeNuUVyJywW7M_.html Thanks for watching!
Where did you acquire your skills. I would love to do this.
Very impressive! I think you should keep the wood, it pops against the white tile and blue cabinets. I think it would be a mistake to change them out to concrete gray. Couldn’t stop watching. Women have such detail, brains, and then mix with practical expertise… Unstoppable! Thank you.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your feedback and also your watching! Agree on the unstoppable :) Thanks again!
You have a way of explaining that makes me believe that I can do it too ! Lol. Great video, ideas, and teaching. Aloha from Hawai’i 🌺
Yes! You can do it too! Thank you so much :) Aloha!
I love the color of the wood. Having the white oak on the shelves makes sense to have lighter color above but the orange undertone works well as a complimentary color with the blue.
I'm so impressed with all the skills you have. I hope to make over my future kitchen one day( when I own)
Thank you so much!
The kitchen looks absolutely amazing! Excellent work on this transformation! We're glad you had the Wagner sprayer to help get the job done.
Thank you so much for the renovation help with your amazing paint sprayer, Wagner! 🙌🏼
Gorgeous result, love it! This small renovation was super therapeutic to watch💐🇺🇸
Thanks so much for watching! 😊
How helpful! Very clear. No jargon. Excellent video.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much!
Yes, white concrete counter tops!!!
I think that's a very near project! Stay tuned!
You did it again-another great project-well done! You make it look so easy and I know it isn't-that's your superpower! LoL. Please share at the end of the video's approx cost involved and actual real time. Especially beginner DIY'ers have no idea how long it takes to do tasks. This really leads to frustrated people and half finished projects. Thanks again for another great project and video.
Ok that is great info to know! Thanks so much - I appreciate you watching!
Amazing transformation! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
EPIC! You did such a good job. Well done.
Thanks so much!
Hi ! really a great job, i really like the colors changes and the details you make. Good video, enjoy cooking.
Thank you so much! Yes, cooking will be much more enjoyable in here now :)
It looks amazing!! Tell me why I think I’m able to go change out a window?! Lol
You absolutely can do it Gaby! Much less intimidating than it seems lol! Thank you :)
It turned out so well! My favorite part is the cabinet color and the white oak around the window! Lovely!
Ahhh thank you so much Lauren! Those are two of my favorite parts as well! Thank you for watching :)
Excellent work..love it all, especially that paint colour..
Thank you very much!
Way to go with that bold color Erin! The entire kitchen looks amaaazing. x0x0
Brenda!! Thank you so much! We miss you! XO
Beautiful job! I love the cabinet color. We are just starting our kitchen reno, taking everything down to the studs and starting over, moving everything around. We have much to do! Thanks for the inspiration! I think we might have to get that sprayer.
Wonderful! Thank you so much!
You made every aspect of this project understandable, doable and 'easy'.
Thank you
Thank you so much! Im glad to hear it and I really appreciate it!
I’m currently undergoing a “very quick and simple” kitchen reno. So now I’m gutting the whole thing because the previous 3 renovators were complete buffoons
😂 Exactly Keith 😅 Thanks for watching!
I was thinking the same thing 😅😂
I love your videos!!! The cabinets really look amazing using the sprayer, I will check the model you showed in the video.
Awesome! Thank you so much!
Amazing job, and I love to see people come out of their comfort zones. I also am so afraid of color not sure if it will stand out too much or ‘cave’ color. I am wondering if your skim coating idea would work over plastered walls that had old wallpaper applied and then stripped off the wrong way which left huge swaths of torn plaster. Then of all things in the 70’s they applied textured wall paper over that. Our house was built in 1942 and we find horrible shortcuts every time we try a project. I want to add color to my bedroom walls, but. I feel the only reason I didn’t ‘see’ the huge mistakes under the wallpaper was because the whole house was painted eggshell white. We don’t have the money to teat out all the walls and replace drywall. A house is juts a building, I know… But a home is a home and we want to make it our own. Please keep making videos. I sent the stock to video to my brother for his little boy, and I am going to work on that outdoor shower, when we finish our deck. If you do the hot tub thing, PLEASE post! We are in upstate, NY so sounds like a cool idea for a group level project
Agreed - a home is a home and important to make it your own and feel good where you live :) Plastered walls are foreign to me! We don't have those down here in Texas. Thank you so much for your comments and for sharing the videos and I will definitely make a video if I do the hot tub!
Job well done. Congrats on the outcome. It’s a gorgeous remodel and great job with going out of your comfort zone on the cabinet color. I have a tendency to talk myself going in a different direction of what I would consider my “norm”.
Thank you so much :)
We're smiling w you 🤩 so ambitious. Replacing windows that's major. I❤ butcher block counters, cabinet color & tiles, great taste. I think it ingenious u installing shelf brackets prior, so clever👏🏻 Learning so much frm watching these videos, wish i had working space. u inspire me❣️ Thank You frm Boston 🍀
Thank you so much and welcome!
You did a great job! recently discovered your channel and am really enjoying it. I dig your style and will be stealing some of your ideas! I'm curious what sizes you used on your trim molding (baseboard, doors)? Cheers!
I believe I am using 5.5" tall boards. It seems like the perfect height. Thanks so much and welcome! Cheers!
Well done! This kitchen is a project, to be really proud of. I have to admit, that I was very sceptical first, but the colour looks spectacular. I like the dark counters, but hey.....It's not my kitchen. Greetings from Germany
Thank you so much!
I❤ everything u did and how you explained everything clearly. How long from start to finish did this take you?
Thank you so much! This whole thing took me a little less than a month (working mostly all by myself)
That kitchen came out amazing! I have a heavy textured wall that looks bad and now I know how to make it nice and smooth. Would you recommend the paint sprayer for interior walls as well? Is a roller still better for a large wall?
Yes, you could totally spray a wall with this sprayer! I think the wider nozzle would be best, instead of the detailed nozzle that I used for the cabinets. Regarding sprayer vs roller, it really just depends on how much prep you want to do to mask off the wall. IMO, a sprayer always looks better. Thanks so much!

Love the kitchen....the only thing not a fan of is the stain on the countertops.....
I agree. I just can't live with it either haha. Stay tuned for a video making that change! Thanks!
Maker Gray, sponsored by cedar wood😆
I wish! Also I'm confused... there is no cedar in this project 🤔
Can I redo my kitchen myself??? Or maybe just certain parts and have a professional do stuff like installing a dishwasher? Or could I save money if I demo the kitchen and have pros do the entire job?
Yes to all!
What I now know: The words “small” and “renovation” don’t belong in the same sentence. There are always $urprises. Best wishes to anyone out there contemplating a renovation. Cheers. Thanks for sharing this video.
So true! I believe that more now than ever. Although our kitchen is so "small" haha. Thanks for watching!
@@MakerGray :-)
yeah... with you upgrading to RCD it was really needed especially with the way things are in the modern era, there's no real reason to cheap out in that area
What in the world did they use on those old countertops?!
I wish I knew! So I could avoid it haha
