    Duke is so overrated - had everything they need on all sides of the ball and blew it all 4 years they had brennan o'neill

      ANDREW: Yes!...The 3rd Quarter was crucial...McNaney made some saves, and Weirman kept winning face-offs...We wore out the Devils...
      Now we'll be going to Philadelphia to play the Wahoos or the Blue Jays...
      Go Terps...Fear the Turtle...
      Thanks, Andrew...

    Maryland goalie gotta be player of the game .. so many clutch saves in tight score moments

    Virtually the entire time Maryland was roaring back in this game, all one announcer did was relentlessly criticize the Maryland team as a whole!! Drove me nuts!! "These Terp turnovers are awful. Can't compete with team as great as Duke with all these mistakes." Meanwhile, Maryland would score again! Then we hear: "The rest of Maryland's team must help out, they just can't keep up with Duke when it comes to scoring". Fifteen seconds later another Maryland goal..."Well, just one man can't get the job done for Maryland". My tv was in danger at that point!

      You must be talking about Paul Carcaterra. His bias is so obvious that it's irritating to listen to him.

    Terps Offense playing its best all year in the Tournament __ they a respectable 2-2 playing against the ACC with a Win over CUSE __ can anyone pull the upset over the Irish?

    Was it just me and maybe I'm the only one who has paid close enough attention in multiple sports - but is the lack of consistent or no defense a Duke men's athletic thing as a whole! Because in watching Duke completely self destruct today, I could swear I was back during basketball season! The basketball team had their brief moments of team defense! But it was the lacrosse Achilles heel the majority of the season and today at the worst possible time it showed again in droves! I've seen this crap about how John Tillman owns Duke and yes for the most part he has! Past is the past though, and in a majority of those games Maryland was the one in control! That wasn't the case today! Duke controlled the majority of the first half and then took their foot off the gas with their intensity! This time they let Maryland off the hook and deserved to lose! The real shame is how good this team could have been had they decided defense was important enough to play it! U can be most explosive offensively but in the end the covering up of the liability on defense eventually gets exposed! For Duke it went on way too long in 2024, and unfortunately today it caught up to them and sailed by them!

      I thought this team wasn't coached well to be honest. When things get tough, O'Neill seems to fade. It doesn't really matter, nobody beats Notre Dame..

    • @bradlewis6514
      @bradlewis6514 Před měsícem +1

      @@learningcurve3212oh absolutely without a doubt! I said to my one friend that the NCAA tournament was gonna be the Notre Dame Invitational and that it'd take a supreme effort on both ends of the field to beat them! You hafta force them into mistakes because themselves mentally they don't make them

    • @bradlewis6514
      @bradlewis6514 Před měsícem +2

      @@learningcurve3212and defense isn't all just about coaching! It's the athlete and their wanting to play it a lot of the time! Guys in the sports that require defense today mostly care about style and offense! It's 90 percent at least in the athletes' mindset

    • @bradlewis6514
      @bradlewis6514 Před měsícem +1

      @@learningcurve3212that's why in college basketball defense has majority been gotten away from because in the NBA it's been an offense driven league for years now so guys don't give a damn about honing their defensive skills before they're drafted

      I do hear what you're saying. I think that in both cases they had great individual talent, but just lacked the togetherness and killer instinct that great teams need. Duke LAX was a very frustrating team to watch this year and to a slightly lesser degree last year too. Always let teams hang around. They effed around and found out a few times throughout the season and once again today. Not sure you can point to just defense as the problem when the offense produced just two goals the entire second half. Kind of seems like other teams just want it more than them which is sad. Dano looked pissed at the end of that one, but overall I think he could have pushed these guys harder the last two seasons. Tillman is getting more out of less. ND's Kevin Corrigan is getting far more out of similar talent.

    think mr college lax o’neil crumbled in his chance to be hero. After timeout had ball took few steps saw double n pass ball up just for a player take a weak shot. O’neil has to keep that ball and be the one to start. But as games o’neil been shut down when ya play him very aggressive and physical he wants no parts of it. He’s great player but not best ever college lax player as media has called him.

    • @bradlewis6514
      @bradlewis6514 Před měsícem +2

      And it's not just him! Defense (either lack thereof or inconsistent) has been the main Achilles of this Duke team all season long! If your mostly great on offense you can mask the deficiency but when you don't defend that mask will come off faster! No excuse for it's lacking when your in control of the game and tempo, which Duke was! Second half the defense was completely non-existent and as a result off with the masking

    • @bradlewis6514
      @bradlewis6514 Před měsícem +1

      The championship level teams defend to an extent and every guy contributes , which is what separates them! And u saw today why Duke wasn't championship level! They looked like an NBA team in that they didn't care whether they stopped Maryland or not

      @adamharmon7845 Před měsícem

      He's clearly one of the greats. But I think he's reluctant to assume the "hero" role. As a team player, and overthinker, maybe he trusts in his coaches' plan and defers to his teammates in some critical moments of games. I think in the pros, he'll assert himself and open up his game more but he'll always be a team player as opposed to a hero.
