One of the cool things we did for Size Matters was adding armor sets that gave abilities which Insomniac eventually adopted. Also some great multiplayer modes that introduced one of the first shooter extraction modes in games.

@@Christian2k00 To be fair we went the best R&C, but Imsomniac didn’t want to make a PSP game so they don’t get to complain.
The worst part of this platinum trophy is that spending ANY titanium bolts instantly locks you out of the collect all 20 bolts trophy since it reads how many bolts you have not how many you’ve collected. Gotta start an entirely new playthrough and collect them all again if you buy any of the outfits before getting the final one.
yh thats what happened to me... luckily ps5 has the state save/load for this game so I had a save from before i bought the costume
To be completely honest, the bad Ratchet and Clank games, like Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank, is what made me a fan of the Ratchet and Clank.

Size Matters isn't bad! This is coming from someone who grew up with the original PS2 titles. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando being my first. A lot of people bag out this game because one: it isn't an Insomniac title, and two: it's too hard.
I agree with both of these comments. When I played it back then on PSP it wasn't that bad. Then years came along and I think I got recommended in yt on how both Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank were terrible. Btw I had Secret Agent Clank on PS2 and played it for weeks on end. Heck I'll even wait for R&C 2, 3, Deadlock, and others once they are compatible for PS4/5 consoles.
@metal67 I hope we get Secret Agent Clank before the other Ratchet games! Neither Size Matters or Secret Agent Clank had trophy support on the PSP. So, being able to finally platinum these games is an absolute joy for myself (who has already received all platinum trophies for prior Ratchet titles).

@josephbuchanan2319 I've heard Ratchet is ridiculously hard to get running on newer software. Insomniac used a lot of tricks back in the day to get as much content and running efficiently by using functions of the ps2...(I'd recommend checking out Golden Bolts videos as well as the Ratchet Developer commentary since I can't remember the exact specifics)... which is why the Ps3 re-release was so buggy

I wasn't a Ratchet & Clank fan at the time. I was more of a Team Jak & Daxter. But around Christmas 2007, I got my first PSP along with R&C Size Matters. I was skeptical at first, but after my first playthrough, I became a fan! I ended up playing nearly every Ratchet & Clank game thanks to this game.
The camera controls were a bit rough but wasn't bad overall, hoping they add the original trilogy soon pls pls
Just got done getting the platinum trophy today! Despite what certain people claim, I still enjoy Size Matters. I think it holds up pretty well. While It may not have the best story, especially compared to the previous games, I feel its still a lot of fun to play through and I'm looking forward to seeing Secret Agent Clank coming to PS5 soon! Would love to platinum that game next.
Did anyone else love this & Secret Agent Clank just as much as the PS2 games? I never knew they had hate until…well, today? Amazing games.

I think it'd be pretty dope if they put a trophy in each game to find the Dan Johnson Easter Eggs. Especially if they re-release Tools of Destruction so we can FINALLY get a trophy list for that game.
I assume the reason Size Matters was added to PS Plus first is because Sony is trying to fill out their emulated PSP library.
This game disappointed me A LOT as a kid, but it's nice to have and fun enough to play.
That's actually a nice list, they went out of their way to add fresh achievements. The ps3 version of previous ps2 titles' trophy list is basically a copy-paste of the skill points list, plus a few general trophies such as beat the game, buy and upgrade all weapons etc
It's a Ratchet & Clank game ofc I had to buy it, especially cuz it's only 10 bucks and you get it both on PS4 and 5.
How does it run and play? I just now found out this game came to PS5. I love anything ratchet and clank and am thinking about buying it and Daxter since their so cheap.
@@Ncc0990 its "remastered" in a sense with better visuals. its a bit clunky and controls are awful but good thing is, it has alot of options to change the controls to your liking. plus the rewind feature is a GOD SEND forbthis game
The ratchet games seem to be so much easier trophy wise, especially since rift apart came out
Yea rift apart didn’t even have anything for new game plus or difficulty game was way too easy I played on the hardest difficulty just because

@@tommyherrick8220they make the easiest trophy lists so the "modern audience" (=people who barely play any videogames) can collect them. They might as well give us the platinum as soon as we boot up the game for the 1st time.

@@tommyherrick8220 same. Although the ps3 plats weren't extremely difficult, they at least required you to do something more than "just complete the game"
I defeated Mungo with the wrench and died at the same time, still got trophy.

I got the platinum aswell, it was fun but pretty frustrating at times, especially since I spent bolts and had to do a 3rd playthrough

Sony PLEASE add 1, 2 and 3 as ps5 titles so I can plat them again
Would be hard considering the way they used the hardware of the ps2 (mostly using the very inner or outer boundaries of the discs. Its why emulating 1-deadlocked aside from secret agent clank and size matters is a nightmare)
I would rather have the ps3 games.
It’s a shame that a lot of current day PS5/4 owners that didn’t have PS3 back in the day can’t experience A Crack In Time or Tools Of Destruction. Those games are some of the best R&C games aside from the originals. I sure am glad I kept my PS3.
Guys all the saga is on PS4/ps5. From Ratchet 1 to into the nexus. I think the only games that aren't already ported are secret agent clank and the mobile games obviously
Edit: You need to have the highest ps plus subscription to play them all including size matters as it's a port

I've been such a huge fan of this game since my early childhood. Completely 100% it this year for the first time. Always loved it and im glad more people can discover this gem on modern platforms.

With the Mungo boss fight, it's easier if you just throw the wrench at it. Not only will you avoid getting smacked to oblivion, but you will take less time as well 😂😂
I just platinumed this game, i remembered almost every part of it because i used to play it as a kid, i replayed so many times
I got to experience this game for the first time, and I now have ptsd from Otto and Luna.
I think the big gripes i have with this game is that the controls feel a bit stiff. The camera is too close at the best of times. And the titanium bolts no longer feel as satisfying to collect.
Important do not spend your titanium bolts if you want the platinum, i fucked up and i have to play the game again😢

I love Size Matters! It got great reviews when it first came out, but it seems to have fallen out of favor in recent years, and I don't know why. 🤷♂️
I think most of the magic came from playing a Ratchet game portably. Personally I’ve never liked this game, the difficulty is unbalanced and the challenge mode is easily the worst in the series. No shade on anyone that loves this game, but I never really got the appeal of it myself.
@@josephbuchanan2319Nope! Skill issue. The game isn't hard, and the difficulty isn't unbalanced. I ran through this game the other night with the Dual Lacerators and Acid Bomb Glove only. Completely doable! Just be better.
@@Zodiac3107 The game starting you off with two of the more powerful weapons doesn't mean it's alright for nearly every other weapon to be near useless.

@jole5861 Have you used the Sniper Mine or Laser Tracer? I didn't use the Sniper Mine until Replay Count 2! It was still level 1, and it was one tapping enemies. It also reached the maximum level instantly, too!
Time for your platinum trophy hunting arc
for bolt collection, travel to the tree house (using the time glitch) and break the sun loungers. 6? in total, they are stuffed with bolts.
as long as you’re in that time window between 2:42 and 2:48 you can rinse repeat and just fly to dani moon change the time back then carry on.

breaking the lawn chairs in the tree house and then jumping off the edge and redoing is a really good way of getting bolts
Remember you can rewind for mungo,buying the 8 weapons and races/challeges.

Just trying to warn anyone, you can't get the trophies for collecting 10 or 20 Titanium Bolts if you purchase any skins before collecting all 20 of them. I'm gonna have to start a second save file to get the plat🙃
Size Matters already had achievement in the game back when game dev chose it put achievement vs the game console dev forcing it for nearly EVERY GAME!
I always enjoy the platinums too. I wish modern games actually did make us do all the skill points. And I do wish this had more, but this is one of the best lists for PSP games so far.
I bought all the weapons and upgrades on one version but missed a few on the other. Got both plats.
The end part it’s faster to manually save and reload. Then you just get the 400k again. Save. Load. Repeat
Whats really annoying with the dream section is that there is 3 or 4 bults that game dosent tell you about

PS5 made this game bearable. I know it’s cheating but the rewind feature just saved so much time of unbearably long unskippable sequences if you die (especially in the Luna fight). But overall it just feels so good to play compared to the PS2 and PSP again because of the PS5 letting you customise controls
I think they’ve been picking psp games to add to the classics catalog because the psp store closed a few years back but the ps3 and vita stores are still up. Also they are subtlety pushing the ps portal with the ports of portable games

The platinum was a nice one. Not too hard or tricky, not too easy for just story trophies.

the last Ratchet and Clank game did not have a Insomniac museum. i was so sadden y that.

I never owned a psp growing up, but I always wanted to play Size Matters even though people said it was the worst classic Ratchet game. It's still a Ratchet game, and I've never played it, so I'm very excited it's available on modern platforms 😊
Make sure you guys don't buy any skins with titanium bolts. Otherwise, the trophy would not work.
I 100%ed the PSP version of this game years ago, because I usually really enjoy doing that with Ratchet & Clank games, however it was a terrible experience with this one, so I'm okay with not having to do it all again for a platinum trophy. I tried to 100% Secret Secret Clank afterwards, but it was even more of a miserable experience so I gave up for my own sanity!
I did all the treehouse clank challenges. They were a brain cruncher thats for sure 😂

The Medial Outpost shortcut is indeed a bug in the original game, and funnily enough, this was overlooked in PS2, because I can STILL death abuse across space to save a lot of time.
Not buying/upgrading absolutely everything is pretty odd for a platinum grind; usually plats encourage being a completionist, like in the HD Trilogy, but I digress.
Also, in hindsight, I wish I had learned the Metalis-Dayni thing; before that, it used to be Metalis, save-load, Metalis, save-load...
The Treehouse is another place to grind bolts, but its breakables net you 40k fewer bolts (312080) than Metalis alone (358776).
BTW, what the hell is up with games and their obsession with getting killed by fish? GTA V, Ratchet PS4, and now this?!
Also, fun fact, SM on PS2 is not only the sole PS2 game with a Croatian language option, but the first Ratchet game to have said language until Rift Apart came out.

Just to let you know every single ratchet and Clank game is available on ps4 and 5 the OG trilogy and all the ps3 games you just search em on the store and if you have ps plus you stream them and yeah I’m aware you can’t “download” it requires internet connection but who doesn’t have that
yeah but that's not actually available in all regions so for those affected areas it doesn't matter if you have an internet connection

sony seems to be on a bit of a PSP thing at the moment. they rereleased Jak and Daxter lost frontier and Daxter's soloo spin off game. fcking weird but i love it.

Certainly not the best ratchet and clank... but I actually enjoy it.... barring the luna fight and the otto fight. They can go straight to hell.

Port is better! People just want to play the old games, and the mass majority of, "remasters", are sh*t! They also receive negative reviews, as well as massive backlash from general audiences. So, why not just port the older games? Sell them for $10, instead of $100+, add trophy support, and everyone is happy! Business baby. Get used to it!

@fastng Yeah! Like Saints Row: The Third (which got negative reviews), or the HD Collection of the Ratchet & Clank trilogy (loads of graphical issues), or like the Definitive Edition (dare I get into that?).

It’s not running at 4K. None of the emulated games run at 4K. They all run at some resolution that’s somewhere around 720p-ish. Some are even sun 720p (sub-HD). The emulation is awful and nothing runs at 4K or close to it

@jacobkoopmann4180 You're just saying the same as everyone else who, "dislikes", this game. There's nothing clunky about it! The camera angles can be a bit of a pain in the keister from time to time, but goes for the PS2 titles as well. The story isn't the worst. (2016), Ratchet & Clank is way worse!
@@Zodiac3107 I’ve played a lot of ps2 games this has a very clunky camera with annoying strafing controls. The jak game’s especially daxter since that’s a better comparison had a much better camera with better controls and it’s a psp game as well
@@jacobkoopmann4180 The controls for this game are fine! Analogue stick moves in a six axis, and D-Pad strafes. The camera isn't all that much of a hindrance either! I think it's just a skill issue. I'm sorry. But, you're welcome to your opinion. I suggest not playing it or buying it.
