  • With everything going on right now we totally forgot it was World Autism Awareness Day . We have been sharing our Autism life here on social media for almost 2 years and with that we have found a community of friends and family within you all who love and adore our girl for exactly who she is. Sometimes because of this I forget that the whole world is not aware. Today and every day we try and spread awareness and acceptance and we are so grateful for our internet family. Share your stories down in the comment section about how your life has been changed by Autism . We love you all and could never do any of this without you!

I so agree teaching our son during this time has been awesome! I too have been wondering how to share awareness this month. Our son has come so far, our family has come so far and we are thriving. Our son is amazing and we are blessed! Yes Acceptance! Love you guys!

I started watching Fathering autism last January, mainly because my previous dog had suspected Canine autism, i started watching most of the vlog squad throughout last year as well as i wanted to learn more, i'm now 30 and on the waiting list for an official diagnosis of autism, without watching these vlogs i wouldn't have as much understanding as i do, it makes a lot of sense to me and i finally feel like i am understanding myself ♥

Ready or not, our lives will undoubtedly be different for a while and it’s nice to see one of my favorite families looking a little brighter in the eyes again! Love you, Brazees! 💜

the thing is the world is being made more aware just because of this pandemic and associated lockdowns; people are having their routines disrupted and having to find out how to cope with that so they are kind of experiencing to some degree how it is for autistic people

Our center is doing a Spirit week so like the different activities the center is closed but this week we do fun things to spread acceptance not really awareness and since your home to spread awareness when you’re not around anybody but we can except that our families understand us and we’re grateful for our therapists, I love Ella‘s book that is so cute.

This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Anytime someone has posted a video of a child in a store or a parking lot as they comment “having a temper tantrum” then comment how they need “good swat on their butt” or something that is saying the child is a brat or the parent(s) don’t know how to discipline.
I bring it to there attention ~ first I think it is shameful they are posting a child having a meltdown on Facebook ( autistic or not) I always comment unless they know these people personally they do not know what the circumstances of the situation. Then go on explaining how the child may be autistic and is having a meltdown because they are unable to handle the stimulation of sights & sounds of the grocery store. Or in the case of a meltdown in a parking lot they may have difficulty going into the store or not wanting to leave the store.
Bottom line that when you see a child having what they consider a temper tantrum it may not be that at all. Instead of judging the child and parent(s) definitely do not film them to post on social media. Instead ask them if there is anything you can do to help them. Especially when there is only one adult. Show empathy not judgement. 😀❤️

I came to see your beautiful family frankly because I'm sick of mine today lol. Husband who I love and adore has Asbergers. He is engineer for communications/ internet and well the backbone of the web so he is working. The stress if routine change and being disturbed by our dogs, our African grey parrot, the kids, me well for him it's a lot. He hit where it hurts today without realizing it. I'm very empathetic and have been called oversensitive my whole life so consider that when I say this. He has been working in the living room and transferred it into makeshift office. But since he is working nights he has been sleeping on couch as well. I'm disabled so bedroom is more comfortable for me. Anyway he told me today that he looks forward to sleeping in the bed again, because he gets lonely. I'm thinking awe he misses me. Then he says " not for conversation just to be next to someone". O u c h . Maybe I am too sensitive but I replied with " oh, you don't want me to talk with?". He replies " no, we don't really have anything to talk about". I then tried to explain how to me that sounds very harsh. He insists it is what it is, no intention of upsetting me. But anyway I am not going to dwell in it. I will process it and file it as they say. I know he loves me, because I'm the one he chooses to be beside. But it would be nice to know I can say things that keep him engaged as well. Lol maybe he has used all his words these last two weeks

Can I ask a question? How do you think this whole situation would’ve been different if John were still at his old job? Do you think it would be more stressful? I was just thinking about how that would have impacted you guys as a family because you have such a massive life change right before this. No worries if it’s too personal of a question, I’m just always trying to understand how different people in different occupations on CZcams are experiencing quarantine. Love you guys! Stay safe! And stay hilarious (because Lauren you were made for CZcams)! 🤗
