I can understand why British people feel that way. But, in Alabama, USA my grandson first heard Bohemian Rhapsody 2 years ago when he was 5. Now almost seven he can sing all of it. 😊 I decided there are some songs everyone should know. This was at the top of the list.

There were actually 65,000+ fans there singing word for word. What really makes this great besides the obvious is that this is a PUNK ROCK crowd, very different from typical Queen fans and a totally different genre of rock music not to mention a completely different age group, it just tells you the ridiculous and legendary mass appeal that Queen has had, when a crowd that big can sing word for word from a different genre of music.

Bohemian Rhapsody is the UK's second national anthem. In fact we probably know the words to Bohemian Rhapsody better than the actual national anthem! What's more at that concert it was just the technicians testing the speakers and this came on and everyone sung. Green Day even delayed coming on so the crowd could finish this. Also most people at that concert would of been to young to be around when freddie was around. Yet everyone in the uk knows it. Its is engrained into every child from birth! Freddie still knows how to control a crowd even in death!

we do this all the time. Been on a Tube Train in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿London with a big group doing this between stations.
We had been practicing before this. outside. Then we did it again. this was total improvisation. spontaneous. Was incredible being there.

I hadn't heard of this con either, and a little into it, I thought "where's Freddie?" When is Freddie going to take the stage/microphone with them??? THEN I looked at the concert date. 2017......that was my answer....I am actually crying right now...texting through my tears.

I miss concerts so much. I've been in crowds like this, and its magical. One of my favorite memories ever is 80k people carrying the chorus of Piano Man during Billy Joel's joint tour with Elton John in the mid 90s. Green Day does this before all their concerts, and its wonderful.

The brits are known for their singing ability - and they call this their second national anthem. If you haven't heard it you can hear their singing ability every year at The last night of the proms - that is broadcast all over the world with big crowds outside Albert Hall - and several other venues. I'm from Denmark and see it every year - and sing along - - and my grandchildren play some of the music in their school orchestra ,as well as "Don't stop me now"- - so it is very much alive. We got through the covid restrictions by singing - we had a radioprogram every day - with a host - leader of the girls choir in the radio - would play and sing - - and everybody was listening from their balconies - singing together .btw. the girls choir was not together - they were singing from their homes via one of the computerprograms!! I guess that in your country you are better at the different rhythms - and we are better at melodies and singing. I'm 71 -sing in a choir - and have been since I started at school . I don't know what will happen with generations to come - rhythm or melody?? What was your upbringing?

In 1992 doing a summer job as a student, in the factory 4 of us were together popping pills from the blister packs. We sung Bohemian Rhapsody together without music and just from memory while doing this. It was fun.

Apparently Green Day were ready to come on stage but they didn't wanna interrupt the crowd, and so they just waited for them to finish (probably singing along!)

To be fair, it kind of happens every time this song is played over the tannoy, it's just not usually filmed. But loads of bands play this at some point before going on stage, and the reaction is always the same - the crowd, as one, starts to sing and don't stop till the song does. Green Day were good enough to film it but this is by no means an unusual occurrence in the UK. It is our unofficial anthem :)

I get goosebumps every time I watch this video! I saw another one that was recorded in the crowd. Not as good but you do get to see that many of these people were probably not even born yet when Freddie passed. Freddie is timeless and everybody knows him and queen! He would be so humbled and proud.

I’m so proud and so heartbroken that Freddie wasn’t here for this- the crowd is mimicking Freddie EXACTLY- Queen fans/ whatcha gonna do? We love them- we love Freddie- I’ve been a fan since 1976 and my love just keeps going deeper into my soul- if you do stop your beautiful reactions- please keep exploring Queen- easily 200 songs/💛

My dad always said "Freddie Mercury is the type of man that can walk into any bar and steal your woman, OR your man". I actually teared up the first time I heard this. Like Freddie Mercury is there up in the sun watching and smiling.

Red, people like you keep Queen's music alive. Bless you for that. I once had to drive my mother's car from Maine to Maryland. I played Queen's greatest hits and sang my heart out going thru the cross Bronx expressway.....saved my sanity.
