Awesome! Love it. 💕
Good talk! I don't have autism, but am highly empathic--with me its filtering. Loud noises, intense sunlight especially when tired drain me quickly. go to placesare music, art, water, tree's, rivers, quiet places. Mindfulness a lot. Studying breathing lately. We live in a culture of distraction and busyness. And speed. that's auto pilot, not attention. Like your emphasis on support, and listening. To listen . . .is to travel. No formula really. Being seen and heard is quite a gift really. Keep up the direct, succinct talks. (do you everdip into ptsd and autism??
I could do a video about it!
This is super helpful. I really use earplugs and calm music. I also keep a yo-yo or tennis ball. The weight of it feels good and sometimes the bouncing of a ball is very peaceful.
My son has sensory processing. Afterwards I realized I have a sensitivity to sound, like a loud cell phone is too much for me. Knowing how he thinks can help me understand myself more. Thanks for allowing me to do that.
Any tips on getting rid of noisy neighbors? I'm pretty sensitive to sound and those people up there are making my life an auditory nightmare... I have noise cancelling headphones but even that isn't even always sufficient
