“alright now I can get back to work”
*starts reading newspaper*
the little boy was sent as a reminder of his son...he died yes,,but he came to save the man and his son's relationship
Good one. I loved it
Ummm....so glad you explained that...
P Lucas Be nice.
@@sawyerpoet YOU are free to suffer fools all you like. I am free to distain people who state the obvious. Nice is overrated.
P Lucas I know I’m free to suffer fools and I usually don’t, but being nice has its place - at times. You never know with whom you’re dealing, especially online. For instance, I could easily make a snarky comment about you not knowing that the word you chose is “disdain,” not “distain.” But I’ll be nice.
I'm more curious about the ghost boy than the father's homophobia...and I feel badly for the woman having lost her husband & son.
Yeah, what about the ghost boy and his ability to manifest.....
@@nomebear Maybe it's Casper the Friendly Boy. Y'know, we really don't know that much about Casper BEFORE he became a famous ghost. I think there's a story there.
I didn't understood this that way.... To me the boy has 2 dads, and the neighboor wasn't expecting that so when he get the baseball stuff he goes giving them to the woman (propably the only woman in his neighborhood ?) because he actually believed she was the kid's mom ? Plus, we can see a moving truck at the beginning so that would mean the kid's family is new in the neighborhood, that would be why nobody knows kid's family is a 2 dads family and would explain why the man goes giving baseball stuff to the woman
When the dad realized his neighbor had lost her son forever, he realized that he could too, unless he made amends.
For everyone confused about the Ghost Boy.
He asks "Do you have a son?" And then finds out that his neighbor lost her son and family.
The boy's purpose was to make him feel guilty about abandoning his gay son, and maybe his son used to play baseball with him too, until he came out to his dad.
I think the dad realized that he may not have his son forever, or vice versa, and he wanted to make amends.
That’s an awesome explanation
Very emotional! And done by high school students - Bravo!
Kid: do you wanna play catch?
Man: *No, not really*
Who has a living room sofa outside
EA Crafties this man apparently
You were joking right?
Ever heard of outdoor furniture
Luis Sanchez right 😂😂
In warm, dry climates its not unusual....and in the less affluent areas in England.
Its not unusual to see a fake leather sofa and a fridge in the yard
It is kinda like some episode in Icarly. Carly, Sam and Freddie went to a space thing and so Spencer was alone, and when he was alone he saw visions of a little girl that reminded him of Carly.
I REMEMBER THIS
I don’t remember that ever happening...
It's pretty sweet how the quality is so amazing but you can still tell it's a home project. Somebody has experience with a camera!
Why did I get sucked into a hole of short films?
Mega Playz maybe you needed a message in here.
Maybe you needed to cry to let bottled up emotions out........oh wait that's why I'm here in a hole of short films
TheSmileyWaffle right! WTH
Same!
Very touching film, on realizing the error of your ways.
I think a more climactic end to the conflict would have been for the dad to look back on pictures of his son as a kid and for it to be the little boy with the glove.
That would actually have been genius!
Yeah but that wouldn’t make too much sense, the mom said that both the boy and the dad died
That would kinda mean they would have to take out the mom from the video, otherwise it wouldn’t make sense
It would have made for a much better acceptance and rekindling. This video just kind of fell short of potential.
I don't agree.
Realizing by watching old photos is perhaps a more _realistic_ way to depict the change process, but the visualization would be kind of boring. In a film, a magical metaphore is more interesting and gives more interaction and acting. Without this part of the plot, the film would only have one actor and a lot of the film story would only take place inside his head...
Although I realize that this movie has an LGBT theme, what really stood out to me in this film was more the utter unfriendliness and downright rudeness of the american anglos. After living most of my adult life in Mexico where people are just soooo different, at times when I return to the US, this is exactly how I find the anglo population to be, as portrayed in this movie. An excellent portrayal of a sad reality!
I agree with you, my experiences especially. Estoy de acuerdo contigo, mis experiencias especialmente.
Although it's sad to hear about your bad experiences in US, there's no need for that kind of sweeping generalization, I think.
@@1arttu well, if you are an anglo, be friendly, be tolerant, be patient, be humble, and help give the anglos a good reputation.
Some strange guy is returning your dead son's possessions that you're sure he never had access to, and you don't ask more questions than that? Kind of weird...
Can we just talk about how this guy is some kind of necromancer?
A classic Karen.
This deceptively simple story is profoundly powerful. It is so well-produced on film. Bravo and thanks to the kids who made it.
These kids deserve recognition given our current toxic political environment! Can't believe someone hasn't picked up on it yet!
One of the best shorts I have seen in a while. Bravo
Excellent! Perhaps the people who need to see it . . . will see it. Love is love, always.
Terrific. This was very well acted, and a superbly told story. Excellent and memorable among all the thousands of videos on CZcams!
My mother needed a long time to come around. Sometimes people need time to accept it. It's not always fair to expect unconditional acceptance right away.
Stephen Costello yes it is! you expect to be understood and accepted mostly by the people that gave you a birth rather than others!! And it ends always on the contrary! Is this fair?
Sinclopus what could I say. I am taking it as it comes as I am older and had no role models like the "kids" today. Now that time has passed and my mother treats us well, I regret lashing out at her when it all went down. That is just how I feel now. BTW, yesterday was our 35th anniversary and my mother is home now knitting a pocketbook for our granddaughter. Whatever....
You are right, Stephen. I took my parents a while too. It was worth the wait.
everybody accepts their kid being straight unconditionally right away?? so yeah actually a child being gay shouldn't affect a parent's love for them
Yeah why would a gay person want to be loved by their parents right away, so annoying how they want acceptance for for something that wasn’t their choice right away🙄 like give the parents some time to figure out what they’re gonna do with themselves now that LITERALLY NOTHING is gonna change.
Thanks Kyle...it's Christmas Eve and I am in tears and sooooo happy to have just watched this touching poignant film. It was wonderful in every way. You have a wonderful talent and I hope I can see more films by you....
The Valencia high school students should be very proud of their work. Great script and great acting. Do they ever do live plays?? 👍🏻😎👍🏻🌈
Apatently nobody answers questions around here.

200. Wow what an amazing shorty..love love love it ..it reseignated with me
Outstanding work, well done, excellent message.
A lot of deep thought went into this. Thank you for helping me feel and sense a small portion of the lessons being taught here.
For a moment I thought something was going to happen where Casper had a crush on him.
Intensely BEAUTIFUL
Excellent - need to hear this more often.
I loved this with all my heart.
Great Movie
Beautiful short film. The conversation between the Dad and the son at the end was heartfelt and realistic.
This is amazing, how could it not have more views ?
Think this ought to brought to the attention of the bigger wigs as this is not only powerfully beautiful, but well done and these kids that made this show incredible talent!
Simple, original and effective 👌 👍 👏

Coming Home - LGBTQ Short Film
Me:
Yes.
Beautifully well done👏👏
Wow this was beautiful. Congratulations
An excellent film. The little boys presence is up to interpretation. I would like to think that the little boy reminded the older man of lost opportunities where his son is concerned,
Wonderful piece, reminds me of my Dad
Wow. Very moving!
Beautiful!!
A beautiful story about love.
Well done, very touching & thanks for sharing . Hope you guys do more great films :-)
Damn tearjerker. Great short film.
Wow this was soooooo powerful that little boy was an angel sent as a reminder of his son. Did you see the look on his face when the little boy asked did he have a son that woke him up. As a gay male I'm so glad that woke him up and he decided to reach out to his child. You only get one life make the best of it and make the best decisions possible to make it easier, even tho life itself isn't easy. We don't get 9 lives.
If the boy didn’t exist then how did the man have the glove and ball 🤔 spooky 😨
What a weeper, and I mean that in the best possible way. I think I am going to need 2 tissues to dry my eyes.
I needed a box!
Omg the last sentence got me
Me too! Wow! Great tie in!
I choked up. Lovely film. Well done. 😢
Magnificent!!
I wish it could be a whole movie or even something longer would hv been great.

LMAO I'm not the only one who sees that 😂😂😂
If it was Ann Coulter, there would have been a broom parked in the driveway.
