  • I go out for a short trip with my friend Neil on his Guzzi V7 750, we swap bikes half way round to see what they are both like in comparison.

I love the Moto Guzzi Breva 1100 it sounds great, I had a Guzzi 1200 Sport a few years ago, and the Breva 1100 looks a similar design I've watched the video twice. I've been inquiring about a Guzzi Breva 1100 from Rob in open-road motorcycles I asked him to send me a video with the engine running and I took note of the Reg. The second time I watched the video I thought that Reg looks familiar so I checked my notebook and I couldn't believe it the bike in the video is the very one I'm thinking about buying. I'm in Aberdeenshire Peterhead. I look forward to watching more of your videos Trev.

Not the best of days to do a comparison ride, but at this time of year in the UK I guess there's little choice! The 750 is a good engine; I run a '05 Breva 750 here in West Australia and really like the bike. Its 189 kg dry weight (compared to the 1100's 235 kg) gives it a reasonable power/weight ratio and the torque gives nice acceleration. Yes, it's slower than the 1100, but in the present-day world, that really doesn't matter; the grin factor is still there and as a 78-yo with 64 years of riding, that's a big thing. 👍

Hi Chris, thanks for leaving a comment, yeah the weather is not perfect, but it was mainly dry, just a bit like riding in a cloud , i think thats why the lens had such colour flare at times. 78 and still riding, good on yer mate! I would be surprised if I'm still alive, let alone riding when I get there. My idea is, though, when the Breva 1100 gets too heavy, to go down to something like the Breva 750 if I could find one, but at about 20 years your junior at 59 yrs old I'm hoping for a good few years on the 1100 yet though. 👍

@@trevsstuff64Agreed, we deal with what's there; might not be perfect, but... I downsized from a heavier bike and the 750's fine for now. If I need to downsize in the future then sobeit, as I intend to keep riding for as long as I can. Must admit, I'm quite surprised that I've got this far, given all the high-risk things I've done; spice of life and all that! 😉
