- This is phase 1 of this Bass Tracker Pro 17 rehab project. This is a 1994 fishing boat that I'm charged with rehabbing back to like new status. In this video you will see what it takes to pull a boat like this apart, gut and clean everything in anticipation of building it back like new. This is the first bass tracker I've done and I'm hoping this video will show you some of the things to overcome and prepare yourself for if you are taking on a job like this.

I admire you for retaining your high standards of work in the face of adversity. I'd buy anything you build. Nice work.
Thank you Sir.
Pro tip for next time a screw is rusty out like this 7:38 take a grinder and and cut straight line in the head of the screw and they will come right out. Saves you a lot of time.
Absolute super good demo. Took me 3 months to completely refurbish mine. Great job and very thorough.
Fantastic work. Can't wait to see the end result.
Thanks James.
Your attention to detail always amazes me. The time and effort it took to sand and clean the boat is way beyond my attention span and effort. I’m very interested in the continued progress of this build. Thank you. Tight Lines!
Appreciate you always checking in on us. Tight Lines!!!
Serious attention to detail 👍👍👍
Nice job!
Great work can’t wait to see the next part
Stay tuned!!!
Wow, great job so far. That's a ton of work.
Glad that part is done. That was insane.
That work def paid off! Excellent vid
Thanks man. Took almost a month to gut and clean.
Ready to see this finished build!!
Me too lol. 👍🏽
@@BassBrothersFishingDMV I had a 1999 pro team 175 that I bought and was going to redo but end up selling it but I’ll buy another one here soon ….
Naeem, As always, loving your detailed, well thought out videos. Even taking the boat apart, your level of detail and planning is great. Really looking forward to following along for the rest of the build. Thank you
Appreciate the feedback. More to come. 👍🏽
Nice!
Looking good brother. Missed you in Florida
During the first year of the big virus (Cov-id) I tore into my 1988 Tracker Prov-16 and did almost exactly what you've done in the video. Great job gutting the boat and prepping it for the new surfacing. I think I am going to do mine again, as I think it would benefit from me removing the wood flooring and deck, and replacing the wood with aluminum sheeting, and replacing the carpet with Sea-deck or something like it. Thanks for showing the change some elbow grease can do for an older boat.
Yes Sir. Good luck with your project.
Nice job gutting the ole girl. I only wish I was there to help you, and learn. Love your video's. Waiting for round 2
Thanks. Stay tuned. It's going to be awesome. 😜
GENIOUS move with the winch Cuz!!!👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks Cuz. 👍🏽
Amazing work, and videos as always brothers!!! Just a little tip for future deck removal, and rusted stubborn deck screws: I you use a small hole saw and cut a circle around each screw, you can then go back with pliers or vice grips, and remove those nasty srews without having to grind away at them & the wood decking. Keep up the great work...Until next the next vid, Stay cool brothers! 🤘🤘
I just did the exact same boat that floor comes out a lot easier if you take those two side panels out first and same putting it back in
The side panels were actually held down by the floor on this boat.
Great video!!!! Definitely want to do something like this since I can’t actually afford a new one!!! Lol
Go for it. You can find a Tracker on FB Marketplace and fix it up yourself.
Wifey be like " you stay yo dusty ass outside tonight"
Great job man!!
Lol right.

What did you paint the hull with? Also with the wire brush on the carpet adhesive: are you putting down the xylene with a spray bottle and then just wire bruahing it off?
This series has given me the confidence to do my 95 tracker! Thank you so so much for putting this together.
Awesome man. I painted the hull with Rustoleum self etching primer. It's an automotive primer. This was just to put down some barrier on top of the exposed Aluminum. You could also paint the hull if you want. I sprayed the zylene on the aluminum then used the wire brush to get it all off. It's going to be messy. Ruined a good pair on sneakers and sweatpants but it was all with it 😄
My tracker has a bunch of lost foam as well
Lose* foam
Look at this mess. But I loved your idea using gthe hoist. But this floor I got was so bad. Someone put 3 floors on top of each other. Was tye worse one I have ever done
You should hit up Tricked Tins, he’s here in VA and fabricates really cool stuff you can apply to this build
Yes, he does have some good stuff.
IDK how much you're charging for this but it's not enough. Great work. Also can you link to those work tables you were using? looks like a great solution if you don't have a ton of space!
Here you go. These work tables are a life saver and BIG space saver. Here is our Amazon affiliate link which helps out the channel. amzn.to/3toWJl2
Yo I'm local in MD and would love to chop it up and get some ideas on re doing my jon boat
Shoot me an email or DM me. My info is in the video description.
Where did you get the foam? I'm doing the same thing to 95 pro 17 tracker
Home Depot
Never treated plywood in aluminum boat. It eats holes in the aluminum cause the copper material they use to make it.
I've heard that for pressure treated wood which this is not.
We bought a 97 sea ark 12 foot jon boat. We would love to restore it! Where do we start?!
Remove the decks and floor so you can see the condition on the hull and foam.
Wouldnt it be better to rivet the floor down then screw it , the screw seem like they will loosen up over time......
