Welcome to another aluminum boat build from #brigadeboats . In this video I will show from start to finish how I took a bare aluminum 1997 Basstracker Pro 17 and turned it into a fishing machine!
This video features footage of the full aluminum bass boat build from bare and stripped to built and mint. You'll find info on stripping and gutting boat, carpet prep, carpeting a bass boat, mounting aluminum lids, installing gas struts, batteries and battery trays, upgrading the livewell with recirculation pumps and variable livewell timer, new bilge pump, sealing wood decking properly, installing new deck and floor parts, painting steering consol, wiring boat and full electronics, Gator Skinz on bow and stern, and of course some tips and tricks along the way!
The video shows a majority of the work with voice overs explaining the process. I also show the tools and materials needed to make it happen.
I hope you enjoy the end result.
May your tiny boat builds be great.

Dude. You’re on another plane of craftsmanship and thoughtfulness with your designs and builds. Admired your work since your first boat and it inspired me to rip up a 1985 14ft Alumacraft I was gifted and convert it to a bass boat. Ain’t even in the stratosphere of your work but the effort and project helped me out of a bad little turn of life. There are people with a true understanding and dedication to a craft. People who just have an eye for such precision and quality that few others can see. Seriously man. A gift. I love seeing your process for no other reason than the joy in the making. Can’t wait to see where you take all this. Props.

Man, thanks so much for leaving that! Words can't describe how awesome it is to get feedback like that and know viewers are excited about what I'm doing, it helps fuel the fire! I'm energized that you enjoy and can either use as inspiration/ help with your own project or as entertainment. Thanks again man, I appreciate you 👊

Your work is amazing. That boat looks like it would be so much fun. That size seems just right. Big enough to be comfortable but small enough to move the trailer by hand.

I have this exact model of boat but a year older and after the tear down the absolute daunting scale of the task was overwhelming. My friend, your videos have given me hope and confidence that i needed to keep trucking and realise this is not a weekend project and time and care is what was needed. Thanks bro, i love ur video's they're so helpful and 100% inspirational. You gave me the tools needed to get this project done.

Skill, ability, and patience, you're the hero. I don't know what you charge, but it's not enough. I watch very very few videos from start to finish but once I got started, I couldn't stop watching this one. Years ago, I'd started a similar project, and all I got was frustrated and wound up giving the darn boat away. I'm not known as quitter, but I will tap out when I see it's hopeless, ha. Excellent Job!

Shortly before my dad passed away, I got his 1995 bass tracker, pro 17 that I actually grew up on fishing with him hundreds of times. By the time I got it it was ruined. It’s set up for many years either in the baking sun or under oak trees. Pretty much the only thing that was good was the actual boat itself. I wish I would’ve had the patience to film myself restoring it. I put more money into the boat than it would cost to buy it brand new, but it is worth way more than that to me. That is why I have been brought to this video. I am literally working on it now. just tweaking some stuff before the summer.

You just saved me a truckload of time with the 1996 17' Tracker Pro Team I just bought (first ever boat). I had to troubleshoot a leaking hull and I found a leaking rivet (just repaired w/G Flex epoxy) but found a much larger leak in the through-hull port for the live well gravity drain. I thought I was going to have to remove the foam in the storage container that sits above the gravity drain hose to the port in the starboard side of the hull, and then cut through the bottom of the aluminum of the storage area to get at the gravity drain to through hull hose -- but I glimpsed the hole underneath the seat behind the steering wheel in your video. Tonight I just removed some rivets, pulled the seat and boom -- easy access to remove the 90-degree live well drain connection and hose to replace with all new parts and fix the leak. SUBSCRIBED

Carpet looks awesome but I love the low maintenance without it on my boat. May have to do a little renovation project when I find some time.
