- Hey Addictz, I hope this video was helpful. In this video I explained 4 simple tips on how to save or revive your dying hydrangeas. These steps can be applied to all distressed plants.
A beautiful black gardener - I have no choice but to stan!! 🤩🤩❤️
agreed. It's refreshing to see. I subscribed
Yes, it’s nice to see
Yessss 🙌🏽🌺🌷🌻🌼
Why do you have to see and point out color? She appears to be a very nice lady whom has garden knowledge to share. The color of anyones skin should make no difference!!
Grace Report Agreed. And your hair...😍.
I love it! I have 6 hydrangeas I rescued from the clearance dumping shelf. Seriously, they just stacked a bunch of "dead" plants, parked the shelves all the way in back of the garden center of Walmart, I was like omg, these are just neglected, they're not beyond saving! So, yep, they were just waiting for Ms Cheapo (me) to (stubbornly) nag them back to health. And they've rewarded me with years of beauty & happiness! I even scored a "Pistachio" & a "Cityline Paris" this way!
I do the same, and I don’t even know that much about gardening. I rescued a dying rose plant bush from Home Depot 4 or 5 years ago, and it’s still hanging in there.
I learned from my mother and father and, then, after many decades of not gardening beyond the occasional indoor potted plant or two, I dove into gardening my postage-stamp sized townhouse front and back yards and my deck. It’s fun, relaxing and meditative! Thanks Mommy & Daddy!🙏🏾♥️🌱🪴😌
I don’t know why, but I love the way you say, “Bloom”
🍃🌸🍃
Just rescued 4 little limes today at Lowes. I gave them all water and a hug :-)
I love your passion for gardening.
Congrats on 4,000! You were mentioned on the proven winners Facebook group this week when people were recommending YT channels. Was so happy to see that! I'll be sure to recommend you as well!
Really?????????????? i need to go look that up. omg thank you
I just picked up 40 hydrangeas yesterday. The blue store recvd their fall shipment. Needed to clear the shelves. Manager said if I would take all of them I could have them for $6.00 each. I shop at this store regularly. Im going back tmrw for other discount plants. So exciting.
HOLD UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! yaaaaaaaaassssssss i hope you have space for them all. Will make a great hedge or herbaceous boarder
Wow!!!!
Vic Zo wow what a haul. I want some lol.
Recently purchased a 2 acre property. Loading up on all the clearance and discount plants I can find. I make friends with all the managers at the big box stores. Lol 😉
Vic Zo , wow that's what you called mother of all the haul! My blue store doesn't carry that much number of hydrangea in regular price! 😬
Wow, thank you so much for this, from a fellow OHD sufferer. Obsessive Hydrangea Disorder! 😂
hahahahaha
OHD made me laugh 😂 🤣
My hydrangea is just two dry stem. When I check I saw some very small green . Praying for a resurrection, disappointed.
@@annbrown2744 Just keep it well watered and fed, only use liquid fertilizer at this time of year.
Wow your subs are getting up there. I love that you bring all the neglected plants home and bring them back to their former glory. Great video.😊
Thank you, i try to do my part
@@GardenAddictz me too but you do a way job than I do. 👍
you saved me money by having faith in the scorched and neglected. asking nicely about a discount netted me 4 quickfires at $5 a piece; $18.98 originally. gifted 3 and saved one for myself. drenched and planted with biotone.
keep it up, love the hat!
That was very sweet of you for gifting them. I wouldn't have i love them too much lol
Ty for doing this video. Love to see a "real"" person on tips.
Your love of gardening is inspirational. Thank you.
I just bought 2 clearance Hydrangeas. I’m so excited to see what they will look like next season. Thank you sister! Much love!
I watched a video of yours about a year ago to take care of dying clearance plants and I have been using your tips and I couldn't be any happier. I have shared your tips about hydrogen peroxide while shopping at the big box store in the clearance with others.
I love hydrangeas! I moved from Kentucky to Michigan and was surprised that they are able to grow up here! I've purchased Endless Summer for both their bloom capacity and ability to take on all day sun in cooler climates. This is my first year trying them up here! Your videos are wonderfully informative! Thanks!
I'm so impressed with what you find on the clearance racks. I've have found just a few PW plants and lots of annuals, but nothing big like a hydrangea. Goals! Keep up the great videos.
I ALSO head straight to the clearance racks at Home Depot and Lowe's ESPECIALLY now when the shrubs and perennials are marked down. Although I'm a huge fan of "Garden Answer", I'm so glad I found your channel because I can relate, in more ways than one! I often tell people, I traded my stilettos, for gardening tools and pretty garden shoes and boots! Keep up the good work!
Good morning! You and a few others I watch on CZcams are a force WITH nature :)! inspired me to keep a lookout for clearance plants. Yesterday, I was in Wal-Mart. Wasn't expecting anything (early in the season) and there they were... EIGHT half-dead hydrangea plants with about two small hydrangea in each little decorative box. They were obviously meant for folks to buy them for Mother's Day gifts. About 10.00 a piece. Half the blooms were brown, drooping leaves and blooms. Told the manager he wouldn't be able to sell these at full price like this. I got them 10% off!!! Brought them home, gave them all a trim and watered them well. By this morning... they had perked right up! So, planting them today or tomorrow in a flower bed I wasn't going to work until next year. lol This was a gold mine. 8 young hydrangea plants neglected and left for dead and will fill that flower bed with color very soon! :) Thank you for all of your videos that inspire me and so many others!
I appreciate this video! I just saved a hydrangea bush from someone who dug it out their yard. I’m a beginner but I’m going to try my best to save it. I’ve already done the things you said to do and the one I saved didn’t look as bad as the first one you showed so I’m hopeful. 😄 Thank you!
Thank you for posting this video!!! I’m just now growing my green thumb in LA and your video stopped me from throwing out my Hydrangea haha. I loved the information and your passion and style as you delivered it.
I like your enthusiasm. Fun to watch your excitement over getting a good knock down price on a living plant. Sort of like payback for some of the deaths that inevitably happen. Also, I find hydrangeas needing partial shade. So placing them is really important.
I just bought a pink hydrangea in honor of my grandmother who loved them and I'm so emotionally attached. I noticed that she definitely does not like afternoon sun because she is droopy now and a little wilty - so I will move her to the other side of my apartment and give her lots of water and shade. Thank you for your helpful video!!!!
You are inspiring me to get some “dying “ plants! Thank you for making these !
I've been afraid to buy hydrangeas because I thought they were hard to grow. I'll give them a try with your advice. Thanks for sharing!!
I've just discovered your channel- I TOTALLY LOVE IT! I've been working an expanded Hydrangea bed in my garden - about to plant it up- some plants saved, some grown on from cuttings-very exciting.
You can never have too many Hydrangeas ! ❤️❤️❤️ from Australia 🌞🌞🌞
Amen. You can never have too many hydrangeas
Thanks for the video. I have a black thumb, but I bought a house where the previous owner loved flowers, and I inherited some beautiful stargazer lilies, gladioli, roses and a couple of hydrangeas. They are the big leaf variety. One is in partial shade and is doing fantastic, but the other gets too much sun and got scorched when I didn’t start watering it fast enough when it stopped raining and the summer heat kicked in (I’m in 8b in Vancouver WA). You give me hope that I might be able to bring it back next season. I have been watering it and I do see a little new growth in the back, so it’s not completely dead.
Thank you so much!! Love to see another Gardner getting after it in a zone 6b!!
You have a magic touch with hydrangeas. I planted 3 pink hydrangeas last year. My first hydrangeas ever. Well in March of this year I cut 2 of the plants back because all the stems looked dead. Yep, those 2 are very bushy and growing very big but no flowers. The third uncut hydrangea is flowering pink but is little. Yes, lesson learned. Dumb luck, I did plant them in the correct flower bed where they all get morning sun and afternoon shade. I water them when the leaves look a little droopy. Thank you for this video and all of your knowledge.
i almost always fast forward when vloggers talk in the beginning but the way you talk about your plants and how to nurture and love them was so captivating!! you and your plants are absolutely beautiful, love the video!
Your gardening tips have helped me revive my dying plants. I'm so grateful for your expertise!
I watched your previous videos on shopping for discounted plants. Today I bought 2 hydrangeas plants on discount $5 each from $15. I watered/soaked them and will be planting them tomorrow. Now I just watched this video and so glad I'm learning by your teaching me how to care for outdoor plants. I'm very good with indoor plants but learning about outdoor plants now that I have a garden. Blessings from a Chilean woman in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada 🇨🇱🇨🇦🥰😘💜💙⚘🌻💚👍
Karen Plaza hi Karen, thanks for watching. I’m the total opposite 😩😩😩 I’m horrible with indoor plants lol
Thank you! Just got one for mother's day from my sons, now I have hope, because the flowers have dried out. Thanks again!!
Just bought some Firelight Hydrangeas that are nearly dead off the clearance rack. Thanks for your advice and helping me rescue them!!
Thanks! Just bought my first hydrangea (clearance🤫) and your video had all the info I've been looking for. Very much appreciated 👍
Thanks so much for all the helpful info. I have ZERO knowledge of flowers or care and I’m pretty new to this. I bought a hydrangea and it wilted so bad the next day (I’m in full sun zone 9a 9b) I thought placing it north in my patio would help it get morning sun but it got scorched. Learned so much from this thanks again
Thank you for these great tips!! I love that you're in the city and have this beautiful garden!
I just planted my first hydrangea and it doesnt seem to be too happy right now lol. The leaves are turning yellow on the inner, newer ones and some of the outside leaves are just drying out and dying off. It is a vanilla strawberry, and I am beyond excited for it to bloom. I also live in zone 6b so I am soo happy I found your channel!
Great video - I wish I’d found it earlier when I was freaking out about my hydrangeas. I don’t know what kind I have and I was so confused about new/old wood. I pretty much ended up doing what you recommend - trying to not overthink it and letting them be til spring. They look good now and I was able to do a light pruning that I don’t think will cost me any blooms. But if I’d seen your video back in fall/winter it sure would’ve given me peace of mind! I really enjoy your videos, btw. I’m a clearance queen too!
Sale tables are the best. I've got my eyes on a few Invincibelle Limetta at my local garden center and wasn't sure how to revive them, now I know. I think I'll run by today and pick them up. Thanks for this video.
I appreciate this video….I purchased big leaf hydrangeas in pink, blue from a big box store and haven’t been able to plant right away, and this video was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot. Subscribed!
Very informative video! I love the idea of getting great plants for very little and rehabilitating them. I have to say that I do have 2 endless summer hydrangeas in a north facing location where they only get sun in the afternoon but for a short window... I’d say 3h max. They acclimated really well and are doing great 😊 I have to water them everyday during the hot summer days to keep them happy though. I’m also in zone 7a. 🌷
Thank you for this video! It answered so many questions I had and now I can prune my damaged hydrangea.
I will be trying this today!! Love joining my sisters on this Gardening journey
Thanks for all the tips and advice & you have encouraged me to go shop for the clearance revise theses beautiful plants, flowers 🌸 etc ....
Love all of your videos! You have inspired me to start overhauling my long neglected flower beds. And, I will never pass by another garden center clearance section again without searching for a few treasures! You are super cute, with a lovely personality, watching your videos is pure joy!
Thank you
@@GardenAddictz i need your help with saving my hydrangeas 😩😭😭
Thank you so much for this info. Idk how many times I keep coming back to this video to remind me how to care for my clearance hydrangea.
Thank you very helpful I found a new hobby where I just buy dying plants or save any plant they trow away I love to see plants recuperating and blooming beautifully
I like how you have a comforting teaching voice-not too fast/not to slow.
Your words are thought out so well...I remember your words...it guides me in my yard w success.
T y!
Thank you so helpful I have always loved hydrangeas and while delivering mail see them everywhere. I am just landscaping now and found 4 half price one of them looked beyond help but I didnt want to leave it behind. They are big leaf variety and I have perfect morning sun afternoon shade spot for them thanks to you.
Thank you, I needed this! Will sent pictures next year with my pretty hydrangeas!
I just found five quick fire hydrangeas Lowe's. Gorgeous from Clarence and I'm getting ready to take care of my baby and love them so they can show off me next year. Feeling great. Thanks for the encouragement
The most helpful video I've seen for Hydrangeas
I bought 25 Endless Summer hydrangeas on clearance for $7. Thank goodness I ignored the tag and gave them morning sun...don't want to dig those holes so soon. Thanks for the info.
You won me. Very informative.
Here in San Antonio, where temps have been in the triple digits, sometimes I have to water twice a day.
Just starting with hydrangeas. Have to find some shady spots.
Thank you. I feel way more comfortable now. I only have one. Hoping it makes it. It dried up a good bit, but I will follow your advice. Thanks again.
Thank you so much! I bought 2 Karen Azaleas and 2 PJM Rhodedendron out of season. They were between $8-$12 each. It's been very cold near 30 degrees in 6a, but its warming up and I can't wait to get them in the ground.
Omg! I saw this video last fall and last week was my chance. I saw a whole shelf of wilted hydrangeas and other shrubs like lilac and spirea, and azaleas and they all were discounted for me to about 3$ per plant and they normally were 20 a piece. They are now looking like normal and will be happy in my garden! 😊
Thank you hydrangea doctor for all the great info .
hahahha Its hydrangea season, i cant help myself. Once i plant them i'll post other things so you guys don't get bored lol
@@GardenAddictz bored ????? what the h ** ur talking about ?? your videos are always fun ....
Omg I love u!! I just bought my 1st hydrangea and the tag said full sun! LIE!!! I almost burnt it up totally so I followed my gut n moved it....doing great now. I also learned to get blue blooms u must have acidic soil for it. Aluminum sulfate works great! Oh and new subber!!!
Hello, do you must put them in the ground or can I repot in a bigger pot?
@@melissapope2599 Hi! In my experience, you can pot hydrangeas. I keep two on my front porch. Like she said, they LOVE water. Especially in a container - water when the top is dry. If leaves start to brown, move to a less sunny side of the porch.
I've become Hydrangea obsessed since watching your videos, when I come home with a clearance dead plant, my husband looks at me with worried eyes...i tell him he will see next year how beautiful they will be...he yet doesn't believe me! Lol!😁
When you showed your table of dead plants my mouth dropped. HOW can these be brought back to life?? lol (you are a talented gardener thank you for sharing!!)
Thank so much! I love these plants but lack the knowledge to care them so they can thrive. You've given me a lot of confidence. 👍🏿
Thank you for the video! I just saved a couple of little limes this morning. Happy spring to you!
Just watched this old video. You look so beautiful and happy and gave great advice. Thanks
I just came across this video, you are so cute! And your passion and enthusiasm for gardening is evident in the first few minutes of the video. So happy I found you
I'm glad I found your video! I just got 4 Summer Crush hyrdanegas for free as they were just about to be tossed out. I hope with a little bit of TLC, they will be thriving next year!
Thank you so much. I learned so much watching your video than what I’ve learned by googling for hours.
Omg thank you so much. I bought endless summer hydrangea “can stand in sun” so I been baking it in the sun all day and noticed the leaves are drying up.
Very good advice. My hydrandgeas are looking good. I cant wait till the bloom again.
You made me like hydrangeas
Love your vlog. I just received a 4.5 in Incrediball that I mail ordered from HD. It was lost in the mail and sat at UPS for 13 days since shipping. I’m soaking the poor thing in water and will give it morning sun and shade and fingers crossed/prayers I can bring the baby back to life. Thank you for the tips I have some newly planted limelights in my flower bed. I will ensure they are kept up with the watering. 🌸🌞🌹🌺🥀
Congrats on nearly 4K subs! Awesome care guide, I have my eye on some hydrangea standards at my Lowe’s. Waiting for them to be placed on clearance 🌺🌺
Thank you, just stay consistent on checking the store
I'm so glad you busted out the big leaf one (in blue pot) toward the end. I just found one on clearance and followed your directions on cutting back. It's coming back beautifully! Hanging out in a shady place waiting to go into the ground. It's still too HOT in Georgia.
Keep it hydrated until its time to plant
@@GardenAddictz Yes ma'am. They are sitting in a kiddie pool and watching the water level. The ones I found are endless summer original blue and a bloomstruck which is a gorgeous purple color and darker foliage. I'm in love with the bloomstruck! 😍
Thank you so much!! I repotted my hydrangea and kept it fairly dry bc that’s what the tag said!! I just gave them a good drink so I hope they thrive again
I finally found the answer I was looking for! They’re not full sun!! Thank you so much! I was really worried about my endless summer hydrangea.
Yay!! Hello my garden friend. Lady you have me out here in this 102° Texas weather. Yes, I'm taking breaks throughout. You are really making me fall in love with hydrangeas. Everything I'm doing has to be for next season. So I'm loving your videos. And Congrats! On your 4,000 subscribers. I will continue to pray for growth on your channel.
Felicia from the jump you've always been praying for my growth, I really appreciate you for that. You've been here from the start.
Love this! Thank you for the wonderful advice ❤
You are my new favorite gardener. Thank you very much
Well done. I'm going out to take a close look at my hydrangeas.
Thanks for all this great info. Love hydrangeas too
I just found your channel and I love all your beautiful Hydrangea..
Thank you beautiful lady! I am new to gardening. I have my first house. I bought 3 hydrangeas and they look terrible. One of them I thought was dead. But, I didn't throw her out because it was killing me to do it. She has some new leaves!
Thank you for this!! Trying to see if I’m able to revive my hydrangeas and your video was perfect! 💕
I have seven young hydrangeas and am trying to learn as much as possible for their success. Thanks for your informative videos. You make easy to learn from you. Love your videos and beautiful garden.
Your such a great teacher. I've been watching and learning. 🌷🌻❤
Congratulations on 4,000 subscribers! It is so great to see another gardener in the city. We love our gardens too! You have great taste and I love your style. Have a great weekend!
Thank you
Even though I’m in zone 5 in Nova Scotia , Canada, I am learning a lot from your channel. Love it
l love the way you talking about the plants like a person or a pet ,l feel it bc i love plants too. thanks for the tips😍👌
Oh, I just found you, I’m so happy. Great video. You have a presence and a sweet voice.
Can’t wait to see more videos.
Thank you
Thank you. I was recently told by someone else that too much watering is bad. I have 20 plants I just got from the nursery. They sat over a sunny weekend ( still in the pots) without being watered and most of them wilted really bad.
That is a great tip. I never thought about that.
Your videos have been so helpful and simple. I’m pretty new to gardening and trying to find out what works best for my zone and capabilities. New subscriber.
I just love this energy
Good information, thank you.
also, I love your video, I seen a few people on Amazon leaving horribly bad reviews for Proven Winners Hydrangeas....saying that their plant is completely dead etc....if only they seen your video. who would have thought you can revive most hydrangeas from the dead!.
Great information! Thank you for explaining it to us. 💞
Very helpful. You are right on about the Endless Summer. Morning sun only. Great video.
You were so right about soaking them overnight
I love your videos and the love you have for your flowers just shines thru... you really inspire me.. great work
Thank you for all your tips, you’re amazing! Please include a “PART 2” addressing the black spots on the leaves and how to treat them. I’m not sure if it is fungus or pest but most of the ones I see at local shops have it. Earlier this summer I bought three (2sandy summer, 1 Fuji) hydrangeas at Lowe’s and are all dying (Sadly I paid full price). Now that I have found your channel, i have been taking better care of them. But the new leaves are also turning brown... I don’t know what to do because I keep cutting them back and the leaves keep getting “infected” . Your help will be greatly appreciated. Blessings!
Ps: it is not due to over sun exposure. I keep them in afternoon shade.
You have leaf spots| fungus. Discard all the affected area and spray your plant with neem oil. You can find it at any big box store.
