Cops lie and other cops don't care ... Where do you think the problem comes from
For too long, due to lack of technology ... there was a giant lack of accountability, and we had good ol' boys running around doing what they want. This idea of wielding power over others with impunity attracted WAY too many of the wrong type of people to this profession, and some took out their angst on others, and some wielded their power for pure pleasure while only a few were actually doing the job for the right reasons. And many of THEM would end up being corrupted by the rest leaving even fewer. NOW... finally there is ultimate accountability with all actions being recorded and more and more of these jerks realizing they can't get away with what they want. Also, newcomers are coming into it with the realization that they won't be able to abuse their power, so more and more of the RIGHT type should be entering the force now, and hopefully the bad ones exit quickly. Ok..OK... rant over.

The moment a cop realizes the auditors are naming specific rights is always telling. A good cop slows down, de-escalates, and starts listening at least as much as he's talking. A bad cop turns up the bluster and stubbornly tries to assert authority, inevitably digging himself a hole.
And the even better cop doesn't require a citizen to know the law and respects their rights without needing to have them enumerated to them

Its amazing that police officers get a paid vacation when they screw up on the job, paid by the taxpayers, that police officer should be fired and charged for his crimes.
Also US is lacking a system of banning a fired police officer from re-applying to another state or city.
When they start to hold them responsible and the police have to pay compensation and cost from their own budget then there will be changes so this is what people need to be asking for
The funniest thing is that we live in a society where if you're a cop and you break the rules they force you to take paid vacation while the other cops "investigate" only to ignore all the evidence and clear the cop that was in trouble. Imagine if that was the norm for everyone else. Working at a grocery store and a customer irritates you so you go up and punch them in the face. You get a few weeks of paid vacation while your coworkers that also don't like certain customers "investigate" your actions only to say the use of force was justified and there was no wrong doing. Now just add the cherry on top and imagine everyone got to carry around guns and only got "investigated" by their friends.
Or... Just continue to attack customers just for the paid time off. How genius... You got to be paid while sitting in your ass playing video games while your coworkers do double time. Do they take turns? Your turn john... Snack the customer... Paid leave... Wink wink...

The fact that the other cops did nothing, that is the problem. If I were a cop, I would’ve arrested the Sargent when he slapped the camera. Can you imagine what he does when he isn’t filmed?
Now imagine what would have happened if the civilian would have slapped the phone out of the cops hand.
All kinds of felony charges.
Notice Morabito wasn’t wearing a body cam just the holder/ mount for it.
It’s also why there’s no such thing as a good cop.
Sergeant.
@@TheTravAbides sorry, there are good officers. The other officer did try to stop the out of control cop, just not with any enthusiasm
Really needs to be a federal mandate about filing complaints with police. No individual law enforcement agency or department should have the ability to set their own rules and procedures in regards to the complaint process, instead it should be uniformed, procedures laid out, etc, nationwide
Lie detector. First question. "Did you vote for Agent Orange?"
The reason I say that is because it tells you if they believe in the constitution, the right to remain silent, the writer refused illegal search and seizure, the right to not identify yourself unless legally required.
Most of them are fascist and it's just a quick way to weed through the idiots
Theres already something in place but it's not enforced they even have something in place for cops when they lie on police records but it's not enforced all set by the courts
I don't entirely agree that departments shouldn't be able to implement their own policies. It may even be unconstitutional to prevent them from doing so. But I would agree that there should be a minimum federal standard that they must at least adhere to, and are free to augment just so long as their additions don't run contrary to/contradict the minimum standard.
Spot-on assessment! An independent nationwide complaint organization with zero ties to any law enforcement agency should be created, as well as the creation of an independent organization to which all officer and patrol vehicle camera video is automatically uploaded to without being able to be accessed by individual agencies so they cannot alter or delete the recordings, which unfortunately does happen in some situations. More independent oversight of such things means a potentially more just assessment of the situations that arise.
All complaints against police officers should go to a community-based civilian board with the rights to arrest, punish and fire them.
Plain and simple the cop ego was shattered and he couldn't handle it. Took several cops to hold him back. What is that telling you. 😮
Also how could a police department’s policies on the citizen complaint process not be public information?! The whole point of a complaint process is to promote accountability and transparency but we don’t get to know how complaints are handled, what the criteria is for disciplining an officer or any details of how the investigations are conducted?! Genius!
Morabito is the definition of unhinged 😬 the fact that he acts like that when he’s FULLY AWARE he’s being filmed, imagine what he’s like when he’s not being filmed. That’s chilling 😓
6 mo training to get a badge, gun & qualified immunity
2 years training to cut hair and you buy your own liability insurance
What could possibly go wrong there????
Escalation from dudes with overly inflated egos is always entertaining. When one of them has the authority of the State... that's just dangerous
What kind of ego does this auditor have? Not to mention the anger issues. The LEO might be a failure at his job, but the auditor is exactly what’s wrong with this country. Instigating hostility by claiming it’s his right. Utterly disrespectful. Probably at the capitol on January 6.
Jan 6 wasn't what it's made out to be, my man
Wrong. Auditors don't need to be professional or anything to police and can act any way they want without violating the laws. FRICN MEDIA was correct and the cop should have de-escalated this situation, but his ego went to his head and might be a mental nut case.
@@mattmanbrownbro Then what was it? I’ve seen so much of what was filmed of the event that it’s easy to tell what it was.

This should be eradicated immediately. If the officer is found to be 'innocent ', then backpay can be provided.
Why does the guy look like the movie version of a corrupt cop ?
He really does look like a walking stereotype, doesn't he? Like someone you would see playing poker with Denzel in Training Day.

Just think of all the lives he has ruined, families he separated, and many innocent people he has devastated. These same people are his friends, family, and neighbors. This department is a shining example of why people no longer support them or question everything cops say and do.
*AGGRESSIVE UNHINGED PSYCHOPATH*
:
This is my favorite one of these I've ever seen. Sure, these auditors are being too rude, but god damn they are owning this cop.
Nothing rude about treating a brat like a brat.
It's funny as hell to watch
This officer is a disgrace. He deserves to be treated like one. It is people like him who give police a bad reputation. Why do people like him with power complexes get hired to even be officers, let alone a sergeant. He has little man syndrome, he is a liar, he jumps to excessive force, and his anger is out of control. He should be placed on UNPAYED LEAVE until he is arrested for assault and whatever other crimes he committed.
@@keelyclevenger Idk, I don't think the cop should lose his job. A lot of these guys are former military and they often have PTSD. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending his actions. However, I think punitive correction is the wrong play. He needs therapy to deal with his anger and maybe a demotion. Sure, he should be prosecuted for the assault, but it was simple assault. That's no reason to lose his job.
@Derp Wolf obviously he should lose his job look at the way he's acting and if he does have PTSD he should not be working with the public arresting people! That is crazy. People have PTSD for all sorts of things, but it doesn't make them a violent a? A$$hole! This man is corrupt, impatient, and volatile; he's dangerous, and he has no business working with the public. Not only does he work as a public servant! His job is to serve and protect, not be a raging idiot! I am all for the police but not this type of temperament in a police officer. In fact I'm surprised anyone would be
While these guys intentionally exacerbated the situation and may even seem like the “bad guys” at first glance - it’s important to remember that the officers are held to professional standards and obligations of civil duty, and citizens are not. Citizens have a right to be - frankly, horribly rude to each other. I can’t stand people like this, which is why I’d never be a police officer. If dealing with rude people isn’t your strength, it’s probably best to avoid jobs involving customer service and/or police work.
The auditors don't seem like the bad guys to me. Those cops are out of control

5:18 I want to know what he’s hiding in the car 🤣
The auditors came off super aggressive but the officers should always be able to keep their composure and show levels of professionalism and control.
Who was the FIRST aggressor? That cop was out of his tree from jump!
Yeah being aggressive to armed ignorant men
The problem with auditors like this is that they are trying to incite escalation. That’s why they were immediately aggressive, extremely rude etc. The officer at first only asked what’s going on. These clowns started flying off the handle immediately. The cop is in the wrong for sure but this is what the auditors are looking for. Push buttons on purpose and are extremely aggressive.

A Google search found two previous excessive force lawsuits brought against the Utica PD because of Morabito, and a “Gregory Morabito” (I presume the same person) with four excessive-force complaints who worked for the Chicago PD.
The County Sheriff investigated Morabito’s actions in this incident and requested an arrest warrant but the Utica PD decided to let the (now retired) detective Morabito off the hook.

"Paid leave"
That's the main issue with law enforcement.

Okay, I would love to pick your brain about something. I'm a disabled person. I've recovered from left side full paralysis twice. I moved to Florida approximately six years after becoming disabled. In the last 19years, 13 of them were lived in Bay county, FL. In those 13years, I have been pulled over while walking 27times resulting in zero charges files or tickets issued. A little context: I wake up in pain between 1am-4am in pain and have done so since my strokes in 1998/1999. The only way to get the pain to stop, is to get my joints moving, and I usually do so by going for a walk.
These Bay county law enforcement officers cited me walking "during high crime hours" as cause for lawful detainment. Due to the last decade's supreme court rulings and I. S. District court decisions, and the DHS memo of 2018 defining what lawful detaining is defined as, I only now realize how ruthlessly and blatantly violated my rights. Are there any options for me to help make sure the next disabled long term resident of Panama City and surrounding areas isn't treated like such trash? I just want to call for reform on procedures and policies these people use to feel comfortable in their harassment of private civilians.
He’s never losing his job. They know he acts like that and have no problem with it.
They will have to pay the auditor.
You are right. Utica PD doesn't give a shit
No, tax payers will pay the auditor. The police department doesn't feel any financial pain from these things.
@@ateamfan42 good. Maybe tax payers will pay more attention to what they’re voting in regards to bonds and funding.
@@BradShreds the problem is that most voters are uninformed about the budgets that pay out lawsuits for this police misconduct
This is exactly why budgets that pay out for police misconduct needs to be open and easily accessible to anyone for each and every police department with the name of the officer and a summary of the report. Its stuff like this that will save hundreds of millions of tax dollars across the country when police are commonly abusing their authority and allows us to review their work. I think each police officers overview of their work report should be made public too with how many complaints, how many commendations, and how many years of experience. Of course this country will never do this because police will fight it tooth and nail and the government doesn't want to put in the work and civilians don't want to bother fighting for it even though it would almost completely negate police misconduct.
I have learned about multiple corruptions in many cities near me in Tennessee. Police trading drugs and sex to release criminals in Jamestown, Cookeville Firefighters double dipping in funds by putting they worked in two cities at the same time, Nashville rising in heroin, meth, and cocain while police look the other way to prevent it becoming public, etc. Its very sad.
