    • @BriarLeaf00
      @BriarLeaf00 Před 8 měsíci

      Its TOTALLY ENTRAPMENT, and most likely a setup by local PD to increase thier arrest rate as well as qualify for federal funds for "busting" a "drug trafficker". All of these cops should go to prison for a minimum of 20 years, with the assaulting officer getting 30 to life. Don't like the responsibilities? Dont take the job. Abuse of violent authority is a cancer on this nation.

    • @VelocityOfAFallingRock
      @VelocityOfAFallingRock Před 26 dny +4

      I'm surprised the K-9 officer didn't signal the dog to alert. The use of K-9 is quite controversial as 1) Their handlers have ways--typically a quick hand gesture, sometimes captured on bodycams--to trigger a false alert, which the police then use as probable cause to conduct a vehicle search, and 2) When it comes to sniffing *vehicles*, canines have an accuracy of around 60% (so, a little better than tossing a coin). Yet, courts continue to allow to proceed drug cases based on K-9 alerts.

    • @DaveP326
      @DaveP326 Před 22 dny

      And that's why what happened later on, happened-fired, arrested & sued. This is NOT what they're taught to do in police college. They are SUPPOSED to know (and follow) the law. and department procedures. This exhibition of abuse of authority should be taught in the academy as what NOT to do.

    • @VelocityOfAFallingRock
      @VelocityOfAFallingRock Před 22 dny

      @@DaveP326 What you say is very true, EXCEPT that *after* they come out of police academy and start working, they learn about "us vs. them," qualified immunity, how to have each other's backs (translation: I lie on a police report, and you back me up; they call it "being a team player"), and how they can get away with certain shady behavior as long as they do it in a certain way because of some court ruling. And so, with the passage of time, much of all that "straight-laced" academy instruction goes out the window for a significant number of the cadets, who then become little more than thugs in uniform.

      Actually, its not quite what you said. Cops do leave, because they're either laid off after doing something crooked, or they're good cops who left from pressure or got fired for actually holding their fellows accountable, or maybe said good cops were disgusted with the system and wanted out.
      Second, the police are OVERFUNDED, why do you think there's protests about defunding the police? Its the same issue with the military, but worse, because its one thing to significantly fund our armed forces, but its another thing to overfund the cops, who only ever really serve to protect corporate or political interests, with only the occasional decent cops doing their jobs right.
      Lastly, the cops just arent given proper background checks or training, regardless of funding. They're just bodies in the grinder waiting to vent their egotism on an unwilling citizen, especially if the cop is white and their victim is non-white.
      Now, is this to say cops are supervillains who scheme day and night? Well, no, but they ARE vastly corrupt to the core. The whole system needs to be burned down, purified, then rebuilt carefully so that a following police system isnt so broken and twisted. Unfortunately, given the racist and putrid history of this country, its a tall task either way.

They asked for consent to search, which I refused, citing they have zero reason to believe I'm carrying anything. They called in the dog, got zero hits, searched my car anyways, and then sent me off with a $10 seat belt ticket out of spite because they simply could not admit they were wrong. The kicker is, my tail light wasn't even out. He then said it was flickering when I went over bumps, which it wasn't. We need to petition to end qualified immunity throughout this whole country, that's why these corrupt cops feel so bold doing stuff like this because they know their behavior and actions never lead to them facing actual consequences most of the time due to qualified immunity. All police officers need to be held accountable the same as any regular person who does wrong.

Thanks for continuing to violate my rights on bodycam. Any modifications or deletion of public footage will upgrade you to felony charges. Let me just say that police don't do great in gen pop. And felony assault charges against that officer, who I'm placing under citizen's arrest, I want him behind bars. He's presented himself to be a clear threat to the public."

    After 5:40 the officer makes it very clear that they brought the dog to "make sure that they have probable cause".
    So up to that point the officer clearly believed that they did NOT have probable cause despite stopping him and already inspecting parts of the car.
    They were trying to create probable cause after the fact.
    They had already pointed out that that the package was still on the porch, so they knew that the purported reason for the stop was invalid. Delaying the stop at that point to bring a dog was not in line with the laws covering Terry stops.

    Qualified immunity should be abolished in the United States. Police officers need to be held for their actions under the color of law.

      Come in my neighborhood man! A lot of black people in the ghetto where I live they do a lot of drugs! including dope! fet! molly and the list goes on. Their baby momma, their kids and they don't work they living off welfare. The numbers are high in black projects and ghetto's. That's why those neighborhoods are considered undesirable bc drugs create gang war, inner city high levels of crimes and all types of social ills.

      Police officers in the US should be send to Europe for training, what we see here is an embarrassment for the US law enforcement! I mean watch how they look, full of tattoos, black sunglasses, pumpgun ready even if there is absolute no reason for that, wrong communication between units, use of force far over what's needed, absolute the lowest standard under police practice in developed countries!

      But think of it this way, perhaps if they only had a little more training and funding they'd have been able to concoct a crime to charge that guy with. Ehh? Maybe we should be giving them more money so they can be more effective? If we just raise taxes enough and employ more cops, we be able to make virtually every citizen a wage slave or an actual slave in prison. Something to think about.
