Thielen is the most underrated player in the NFL
I don't know if it's still fair to say he's underrated. A lot of non-Vikings fans don't know who he is yet but days with five catches that qualify for the "top catches of the week" bit will get him more attention. The people who do know about him, Vikings fans and football journalists and certainly the guys trying to cover him, seem to pretty much have him pegged as one of the best receivers in the league.

Its honestly very weird. Skins over the past 15-20 years have been like 3-13 - 8-8 and never had a QB. Now that they have a QB and some consistency they want to blow everything up.

This was the Vikings best win. As good as their record is, they only had to play one decent team on the road previous to this, Pittsburgh. And they lost that one. So beating the Redskins on the road is big. The problem is they have more road games coming up against the Falcons, Lions, and Panthers. All good teams. They could very possibly lose all of those, so I think they needed this one pretty badly. The Lions and the Packers are only two back, and both get to play at home against the Vikings yet. Plus the Lions have the tiebreak edge. So their 7-2 record isn't as safe as it appears in my view. They do have the Rams next week which is their last home game for a while. But the Rams are good this year. So that's no gimme, but I think they better win it before they go on their road game stretch.

I think an argument could be made that both the Vikings and Rams had comparatively soft schedules for the first half of the season. At least by NFL standards. They each had a couple good wins, sure. The Vikings beat the Saints in week one (although Bradford was the QB) their defense stopped them fairly well. The Rams beat the Cowboys on the road which I think is the most impressive. The Rams have blown out more teams with their good offense. But the Vikings have held most teams to less scoring with their good defense. So this match up should be interesting. It will answer a lot of questions. Can't wait to see it. I give the Vikings an edge only because they are at home.

Even when he wasn't a receiver he was rocking it. His 30 yard run on a fake punt against he packers for the division title basically changed the game in 2015. He only played special teams that season

This was not pretty. This is what I was afraid of. The Vikings have the hardest part of their schedule coming up and this happens. We can't have the defense fall apart like this. They gave up 17 points or less in the last 4 games and then they let Washington almost double that? Granted, 2 picks by Keenum that turned into 10 points I believe would have helped against that had he not thrown them, but this is the way of the Vikings. They do well and get complacent, then they get lazy. This is just the beginning. Defense is giving up way too much, Keenum making poor choices even though he had a career game, that can't happen. Don't get me wrong, a lot looked good in this game. O line was fantastic, didn't give up a single sack. Thielen looked awesome as always. For a while the defense was locking down, very minimal penalties, a lot off good things. If we can just eliminate those turnovers, and the defense can lock down like they did in the first 8 games, we can go far. This team has so much promise. But, it's the Vikings, and being a Minnesota sports fan, Minnesotans and myself alike, have learned to never get your hopes up. It's only a matter of time before it all crumbles to the ground.

Some teams struggle to do that much! We should just be grateful for the season so far, and whatever happens is meant to happen.
