Katie just got to stanford and is already kicking ass
Not suprising
She is the MJ, MP, and Ali of women's Swiming
NNCA CHAMPIONS KATIE LEDECKY.
NCAA CHAMPION KATIE LEDECKY!
I wonder how swimming in yards and not meters will change Katie's swimming?
She has been swimming in yards since she was 6.
Her bigger challenge is swimming in the dinky 25 yard long collegiate pools, which require twice the turnarounds for any given distance.
Each turnaround requires a complete stop and change of direction, which are both more tiring and time consuming.
Katie is going to dominate those poor girls. Not sure how she's going to keep getting better with no competition.
Good question.
Notice that her Stanford coach has entered her in two races doing the butterfly stroke.
Katie has won neither of those races.
I wondered how long it would be before they enter her in other stroke races.
Now we know.
I'd love to see Katie become a dominate swimmer in something other then freestyle. Maybe the 400m IM would be a strong event for her.
