Yahweh & "40" - U2 (Vertigo Tour Live From Chicago, 2005)

- čas přidán 4. 02. 2011
- Ending their show in United Center, Chicago on a religious note.. Yahweh is obvious (another name for 'God')... 40 is their interpretation of Psalm 40, with Adam and Edge switching instruments as you can see.
- Hudba
I love this video but pray whoever chose to monetize it by placing an ad in the middle needs to reconsider it. It's like interrupting a prayer with an ad for laundry detergent. Please remove it--it's the right thing to do.
better buy the official video then. It's a youtube thing, it can't be removed, I guess U2 receives a small amount of money for it. Uploader doesn't get money.
@@Ricku2 I actually have it on DVD, but this version is more convenient. CZcams is really awful to do that in the MIDDLE of a video, and especially this one. Thanks for letting me know.
@@BudFuddlacker you miss the point. It's not that there is an ad, but the timing of it in the middle of the song.
@@BudFuddlacker One mans gold, another mans trash.
@@Ricku2 There are good alternatives for Adblocking that don't cost a dime. Ublock...........*cough*
He who starts the band, leaves the stage last.
word. love my larry.
Goosebumps at the end. I love how the crowd keeps singing. Such a classy way to end a show.
Edge playing Bass and Adam playing guitar. Wow. Never gets old. Who’s here in 2021?
We (Reminiscing) remember them in Hartford, playing this at the finale; We were confused as to who, how and what was going on with the transference between Evans and Clayton. Spectacular!
I'm here in 2024❤
Dallas Texas, 10-29-05. I finally got to be in a U2 concert crowd singing “How long…”.
I love that Bono is a believer and makes no attempts to hide it. He was a believer long before I was, and I love that his music is his ministry. I love that God called to me through this an many other songs..and wouldn't give up until he had me.
40 is not a Song, is a Prayer!! God´s save U2!
This recording NEVER gets old. Just a fantastic performance. Period.
These four men have been kept together as a band of musicians and friends for 40 years with no one leaving or being replaced and are still going strong with sell out concerts in 2017.My answer to this
I've watched this sooo many times and realized something... Watching Larry at the very end, channeling THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY playing for Jesus!!! 😲😍
I have known 40 for thirty+ years. Only 12 years ago did I understand. Thank you U2 for calling out to me before I understood. Psalm 40:1-3. Humbled in my ignorance.
Thanks for your story Thomas. Be blessed brother!
Wonderful! Flourish Brother in Christ.
Same with me.... I never liked worldly music but declared this song over my life for years before I understood I was declaring the very scripture psalm 40.
Many will see, many will see and hear ♥️
I thought it was reaching of age. Thanks for the info, God Almighty always prevails
40 is Praise to Our Heavenly Father. I pray to those who are here that see this that they will take Psalm 40 to heart and trust in our Lord Jesus. 🙏🏼
These two songs, that beautiful ending, wow....just wow
U2 really are the greatest band on Earth
Yahweh one of my favorite U2 tunes. Soft song with such powerful lyrics.
@@pklaven2795 yes, agree
I have heard both songs dozens of times; I think they move me to tears almost every time.
Can you imagine the excitement of being there that night... singing *40* to the band... what an amazing night that must have been. Very lucky, any who were there!
Dr Death it was pretty surreal.
Just listening to these two songs gives me renewed hope...
These songs are so spiritual, so emotional and inspired by God!! Love these songs!! Long life for U2!! Thanks for posting.
Nothing heavier that the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Glory to Him!
AMEN MY MAN AMEN
Oh yeah my brothers, oh.yes
@Dale Cooper
Non fiction. That is WHAT makes the song awesome. It's real.
Ohhh yeah!!
AMEN 🙏 Glory to HIM our loved Jesuschrist
Pray for the day we can sing Gods songs together again like that.
now this is the way..you.. end a rock and roll concert...perfect!
Iconic performance Edge, Adam, Larry & Bono❤️
Hello Carol
How are you doing today?
Pure gospel song 😊😊 a beautiful prayer for salvation . Jesus loves us all ❤️❤️ God bless you all
Amen Amen 🙏
Jesus is lord
Anyone can sound great in a recording studio- dude these guys are freakin LIVE!
Listening to this as it’s my last day of high school. Shared so much bonds around U2s music with teachers and classmates. Never will be a better song to capture emotion like Yahweh/40 back to back
This humble servant , crying for you ...
Blessed all those who in your name make them the way ...
it's no coincidence the success of U2
@Kyle O'Bryan What is your synopsis? Please explain...
There is so much of everything at this moment... too many words... too many priests, religions, please tell me?
Unless you are not an atheist, I would like you to explain, unless you believe in some sort of cult where money is the prospect otherwise you take a pill....
"40" is dedicated to my mother fighting for her life right now.
So sorry 😢😢
Kyle - How heartless and false.
Have Faith and leave the rest to Yahweh
Even people with strong faith experience distress, grief, and pain. Jesus himself did and cried tears over such - this and more. The key is to be Christ-like and as Jah Himself has also set the example of being - empathetic and consoling; along with speaking of the true, Scriptural hope from Jehovah [Yahweh], of the resurrection of loved ones, mostly back to here (after Armageddon), onto this earth restored/being restored as a paradise. (Psalm 37:10,11, 29) Then, it will come to be that no one will be sick anymore. Better times are ahead. That is true. (Revelation 21:3-5; Isaiah 33:24)
I hope she wins
so awesome to sing praises to our Lord and have the crowd in tune.
Love this band. Love that they share their faith.
I remember seeing U2 in 1983 at the Aragon like it was yesterday-
they ended the show with the same Psalm 40, and can hear everyone singing,
"How long, to sing this song"
At this show before bono sings electric co he says “this is for anyone at the Aragon 24 - 25 -23 years ago”
I waited patiently for the Lord
And He inclined to me and heard my cry
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction
Out of the miry clay
And He set my feet upon a rock, making my footsteps firm
He put a new song in my mouth
A song of praise to our God
Many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord
+Monika Cutz
A Pretty woman who loves the LORD, Awesomeness!
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all the wonderful things you have done.
I will sing with joy because of you.
I will sing praise to you, Almighty God.
Psalm 9:1-2
+Jack Bailey Every one that loves The Lord is beautiful. For Beauty comes from within and it manifest's itself. So even if you may think your'e ugly, your'e not. People will see The Beauty of The Lord inside of you when they look at you with their hearts not their carnal eyes. G-d Bless!
Awesome. Yes! PRAISE HIM! AMEN!
He has certainly done that for me, and HE still is. Thank you Jesus.
Amen.
"40" gonna become my COVID anthem
This brings me closer to God
Luis me too, if I find it difficult to find God and pray to him, this number makes me come closer to God.
Luis stay strong brother!
Jeroen Brinkman God is just like a Dad. Except He's #1. Is the Source, Hope, an alternative to the norm.
Has to be...otherwise there is nothing brother and that is not the case. HE'S REAL like the hand in front of you. Just ask for more faith and always pray without ceasing.
Thumbs up if U2 are the best band in the world
God almighty only you can make this beautiful moment
Nice to hear Bono is Believer, a Christian and Loves JESUS,,..,,
I believe they started out as a Christian Music Band!
Tears in my eyes, ...
Thank You Guys, ...
You will never ever see any band larger and more popular than life itself than this! It just wont happen anymore. Not on this planet anyways. No one could top them. They are still strong after all these years and continuing to gain even more. They are U2.
It's like i learn more and more songs of them every day. It's like a black hole that never seems to end.
+Rick Scicluna I'll admit it, I used to think Bono was absorbed too far up his own ass. I still sense a diva streak in him for sure, but there's real depth behind it.
toadofsteel Bono has acknowledged his own ego in interviews and in songs. He does poke fun at himself. While I disagree with him on certain things, like the tax thing, I gotta give a lot of credit to him for what he's done as a musician and a philanthropist.
Rick Scicluna The best Band Ever! 💓
and to think Edge was going to be a physician...
I like this version better than the CD version.
it's a live band! Hell yeah!
Jesus has blessed these boys
I was there that night. Incredible show. Beautiful night. Beautiful date. And got lucky.
Roguish me too!
Me three!
so was I
Discovered U2 with Under a blood red sky in July 1983, 40 years ago. This song just gets me everyone ❤
Goosebumps at 2:43.
A beautiful end to a fantastic concert.
MY LETTER TO U2-1987
I saw you guys on the Joshua Tree tour in 1987 at MTSU-Middle Tennessee State University Saturday November 28th 1987. The Bodeans opened up for you. I remember at the time Larry had a crush on Wynonna Judd and she came out and sang a duo with Bono!
I didn't have tickets to the show. A friend of mine drove us 3 hours from East Tennessee to see the show. We bought tickets at the box office for $18.50. We ended up 8th row center stage!
I remember back then the band held back tickets for fans who were willing to make the drive and couldn't get tickets via phone or record store locations.
Thanks again to Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr for making a special album and tour! I was 18 and had just graduated High School that year!
All the Best!
Gary Lagstrom
U2, the best band around in my time!
"40" has long been one of my favorite U2 songs... Simply beautiful. Loved this live version along with an acoustic "Yahweh." Did I see Edge playing bass & Adam Clayton playing lead? Sure glad my son and I saw U2 live in Chicago in September 2009. What a show!
Amen,so blessed to have seen them live
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will look on a awe and put their trust in ADONAI.
fantastic version of 40 wow..
The Spirit of the Creator is in the house when these men play :)
No - not so long as there is any blasphemy, or any promotion of anything counter to the scriptural words, will, and spirit of this only true God, the Creator Jehovah/Yahweh. Instead, what infiltrates is the spirit of the wicked one. (1John 5:19; Ephesians 2:2)
@@theresak.7475 What? This is a Christian rock group band. Where do you hear blasphemy ?
YES!!
I love Adam's guitar playing in this. 6:53. Sounds so great.
And the humble and grateful manner in which he thanks the guitar tech when handing him the guitar at the end speaks volumes.
Every show I saw on this tour, you could feel the atmosphere change (the presence of the Spirit) when they would do this song. Even non-believers felt “something” was palpable as entire arenas were singing Psalms 40.
That´s what I call perfection!
This was my song from their CD
also shows how talented they are as musicians....swapping places etc....amazing !!!!
Simply terrific version... edge plays bass, Adam plays lead guitar, Bono's voice is perfect, Larry at the end causes chills.
And Larry on Keyboard for Yahweh. Talented lot
@@bestthinger nobody watched this for that Diddy…it’s all about “40”
1 word......WOW!
Awesome!!!!! To GOD be the glory!
Hello Sandra
How are you doing today?
A real inspiration! Much more powerful and spiritual than praying in a church. God bless Bono and U2
This is like the most humble song ever...may it be everyone's prayer..beautiful. ofcourse it's another great U2 tune, as well.
Keep shining the light Bono!

The Greatest Rock Band of all Time 🤘
I always come back to these songs and this concert when I’m feeling down. That “40” is simply beautiful!!!! I will always love U2.
greetings from the small island of TRINIDAD
I can relate to this kind of "worship music". It has soul and message. Awesome.
I don’t listen to contemp Christian. I listen to what I call sacred secular. I realize it could be sacrilege to some, but I dont care. Sacred secular moves me more
U2 ended the first 3 concerts of theirs I ever saw (83, 85 + 87) with 40, and every time, the crowd kept on singing "How long to sing this song" even as we poured out of the venue and into the streets/parking lot. If any other bands can get a crowd that into it, I've not seen 'em play a gig!
So beautiful....I stand with u 2 .....thanku for my awakening in 80s thanku brothers.....love ♥️
every time i here edges part in yahweh it makes me wanna cry it is just amazing
Such a shame, Bono sang this part on the original song
What a bunch of legends I really want to go to a live u2 concert no band could ever be as creative and have almost every song they make one of the best
Mullen at the end. Immense.
What a gentleman. Met him a few years ago!
Great comment- Yes!!
@@philiphenning8493 Wow that is cool!
Can any band today speak for God, no, but all music can praise Him, you see music was His idea also. Praise His Holy name Yahweh!
The best 11 minutes and 34 seconds that U2 will ever give you. 2 of my favorite songs from the band from Ireland. Make tomorow an amazing day for someone other than you. #whywait
Fantastic Band -Saw them since Milton Keynes Bowl (The Longest Day Concert) 22nd June 1985 when I was 16 and never looked back! Speaks to the heart.
Praise the Lord,Creator YAHVEH .
+Vic Castillo
Praise him indeed! :D 40 is my fav song of U2 :)
How do you get this good? You practice for 30 years. How do you get this following? You stay together for 30 years. U2 is nothing short of the best band of our time. God Bless and thank you guys for all of it.
Screaming Rebel amazing
Screaming Rebel agreed!
Amen!
If you sing along and you are a Christian with the holy spirit living inside of you, saying the name of God moves you inside: and you can see it has that affect on Bono as well. God's name Yahweh and the name of his son Jesus or Yeshua invoked are powerful. I am so thankful for them and for U2 for not watering down their beliefs. It's the most important message anyone can deliver. Thank you, Yahweh for your son Yeshua.
You're deluded.
216trixie You are in denial.
Polly R Yes, I deny your genocidal freak of a god exists.
216trixie Destroying the scurge of mankind - the Nephelim, the hybrids that were an abomination, is not genocide. It was intended to cleanse the planet.
Yes, and Lord Cenu will return in all his glory with Yahweh and rule us all!!!
Never. Gets. Old. ❤️
Spectacular cancion!☘️☘️Grandes U2!❤❤

I can't stop playing this.. it touches my soul. God bless everyone, everything and help us as a whole be what He meant us to be. Not what man wants.
Very positive band and one of the best live perfomers ever........
Great performance
Larry Mullens Jr on drums....the ultimate in cool
THE VIOLINS ARE BEAUTIFUL
Violins???!!!Is a BASS
what wonderful two songs. Not much known by the noU2fans but two of the best ones. Amazing the acustic perfomance of "Yahweh" and magnificent ending with "40".
Jesus is Lord!
And he has his own, God-given names. This video is titled with the name of Jesus' God and Father; whose entirely different, distinct name, Jehovah [Yahweh], indicates HIM ALONE as the Most High, over all the earth - The Creator and the Universal Sovereign. Isaiah 42:8, Psalm 83:18; John chapter 17.
Love the camera panning as Larry ends it.
Cool story behind why Adam and Edge swap instruments for this song. While the band was in the studio, Adam had already left but Bono, The Edge, and Larry wanted to write a good ending song for War so Edge decided to do both the bass and guitar parts of the song.
I never knew that thanks for sharing
@@Mark-gd5vr Just read a Wikipedia article about the song "40"
How can anyone hate this U2 are the best I don’t give a crap what anyone says
Far better than the crap in the charts these days

Grazie per questo inno a Dio. Cristo ti ha benedetto, non stancarti mai di cantare la sua Gloria...
I have always enjoyed the distinct music from these guys. Even more so, their devotion to the Holy God, Yahweh.
Epic performance!!! Chicago, you should have kept going with 40 even after Larry left... Last concert I went to in NYC, we were going for at least 15 more minutes, while filing out of the venue...!
It was like that at the first 3 U2 shows I saw--83, 85 & 87. We kept singing a good 20 minutes outside afterwards. Never seen that before or since.
Saw joshua tree in 86 or 87. The same, everyone walked out singing. Got Amy grants autograph and some professional male models, cause we snuck onto the floor close to the stage. I was 15
Saw them four times throughout my life. Joshua Tree, Zooropa, Pop mart and 360.
goosebumps!
U2 are belivers...God bless them...love this version of psalm 40. Cool venue in Chicago. Love ❤️ it......
This is fantastic!
I liked Bono suggesting that a priest at Notre Dame should pray his rosary.
Que linda canción de U2 - Yahweh. Su melodía es acogedora y la letra tan especial. Los mejores por siempre.
