A quick guide to attaching pouches to the Savotta Kahakka Backpacks There is more stuff over on Reddit, it's not just me throwing out ideas and information. / savotta
By far my favorite combo, but right now I am also playing with making the kukkaro into a hip belt. I almost got it, I just need to make it less complicated.
#1. These videos are great. Well thought out, organized, informative, thorough, comprehensive, insightful, and no nonsense. This is quality and expensive gear --most people can't put hands on them without significant investment and you won't find them at your local sporting goods. You save us time, trouble & greenbacks. Outstanding work. Thank you. #2. What are your thoughts on connectivity & weight distribution between the Jaakari XL, Kahakka 25L, Askare as a multi-week/daypack/commuter rig for long term international travel in urban and field environments. #3. I've seen the JXL & K25 connected via D-hook. Seems stable but lacking the ability to cinch for flexibility with optimal load distribution. I could be wrong. Of course, the more load you add horizontally, the less stability and more sway you're going to have. Economically speaking, seems better to add weight in the coronal plane before the para-sagittal plane in most cases (up. down, & sides vs farther behind you).
Thank you for the kind words my friend, I'm just doing what's right by the community. And as for your setup, I think I would have to know more. In my current thinking I would advise breaking some of that size and weight up among a team or a sled. Are you moving primarily in summer or winter conditions? No matter what, personally, I would not plan to start and stop a long journey with that same setup lasting me the whole way. Maybe even look at waypoint gear drops with friends or local sporting businesses.
Using the compression straps for the small pouch was pretty creative. May have changed my perspective on the bag Also come to realize you can use the 4 compression g hooks to possibly strap down the 4 corners of a chest rig and use that as a beavertail or quick reload
I know you are all about attachments and modularity but I am still looking forward to the simple (but great?) 202... ;) Hatka and Askare looks like a nice combo... :D And keep up the nice work... great videos! :)
Haha no way am I going to encourage scratching cordura. Besides, these cats have homemade hardwood and softwood climbing/scratching posts but they just want anything more interesting
The zippers on Kukkaro are great, from Kroko in Belgium. They are trusted among military, fire, law enforcement, and others who need to put a lot of trust in a European made product.
@@Tim_Keys just wait until they re-release their baby carrying vest/backack and name it "kakara" or something, then we'll be in for some real brain twisters
Tim, when you mention *"female buckles"* in all of these videos related to the many aspects of the 15-liter and 25-liter Kahakka packs, are you referring to the *"Savotta 2M WB SR PALS-mount, 25mm buckles,"* or to some other type of female buckle? "*Specifically, what exact female buckle is installed onto the top face of the Savotta 4-liter Side pouch that you demonstrated turning into an over-the-shoulder go-bag/mini-haversack with the addition of a short length of 25mm webbing that has a male buckle on both ends"* *"Thanks for the very informative video as well as graciously answering all of mine, as well as everyone else's questions!"*
If there was a "correct" answer I would definitely let you know, but when I say stuff like that I really mean anything you find from Savotta. Most of their available buckles are compatible and you can find your preferred method after the idea is planted. I'm just here for ideas, not answers.
I hailed you as a genius when I saw the bungee securing the 4l pouch in the side pouch! Kahakkas keep on impressing the more we tinker with them. Great vid dude :) P.S. the axe loop came. It fits my axe, fits my skrama, AND fits my weeding hoe. You know how long I've been looking for a good way to holster that damn hoe?! Cheers once more, bless you mate.
Damn man! Now i have to order the kukkaro too... My wife is going to be so pissed.... I will put it all on you! I really like your videos even the long ones. Its not easy to find people to geek out about this. I have the 15L. Mayby you can review my pack whats inside and stuff?
I'm glad I can help but do you mean like a full break down of you have in your pack? That will probably be different for everybody and saying what is right and wrong can be a mine field out here.
Sorry about the baby sounds. He just learned how to climb anything and everything, and he can't understand why we won't let him climb the bookshelf.
Nicely done, Tim! The 15L and KUKKARO combo is perfect.
By far my favorite combo, but right now I am also playing with making the kukkaro into a hip belt. I almost got it, I just need to make it less complicated.
Savotta is like Legos. Hundreds of combinations can be made. 😂
Nice set ups. That 3x4 looks perfect.
Thanks
Nate
For that beaver tail it might really be the best shape and size, I probably should have spent a little bit more time with that one
The beaver tail pockets are awsome man!! Thanks alot

Yeah I didn't quite know how to respond to you earlier, but this is the best I could do to show how to get around what you were talking about
Ordered the 15L since I already got a pricy 25L pack earlier this year and seeing all these possible uses for it just makes me more excited.
Like ur videos. Ordered a 15L yesterday. Never heard of Savotta bevor. Greetings from Germany
Danke mein freund :)
I'm glad to hear you got it, personally the 15L is my favorite
lol. I can’t believe that I love this channel so much!
I don't plan on changing :)

202 coming very soon, I just want to help some people out before these new backpacks start selling out
@@Tim_KeysQuick check and found only one seller besides Varusteleka that had olive Kahakka 25 in stock.
Thomas: You can attach a Dutch canteen pouch to the carrying handles of the 202. There's one bit of modularity.
Order some yards of cordura and build a Scratch Pad for the Cat? 😃

Hello Tim, again thank you very much for this video it helps a lot ! Nice seen you buddy
This is exactly what I was waiting for, its fantastic. I do have one question though, do you have any opinion on the zips on the Kukkaro series?
The zippers on Kukkaro are great, from Kroko in Belgium. They are trusted among military, fire, law enforcement, and others who need to put a lot of trust in a European made product.
I have a slight feeling this is supposed to be titled "kahakka attachments" instead of kukkaro 😅
Hahaha thanks for that catch, this is getting hard to keep track of

Already making one :)

And I am super glad to hear that it worked out for you. That is one little piece that became an essential piece of kit

@@Tim_Keys thats true :D

Why is this pack so popular it looks horrible and impractical.
Well it might not be for you then, but I'm sure you can find what you are looking for. There's a million packs out there these days
