Yamaha: Throw. money. at. this. guy. He's one of the most important players to come along in decades.
He makes more music I’m guessing
Yeah. This guy is definitely going to become one of the greats.
Yes, he is.
@Prof G Boomer
@Prof G don't be a ass, look for the guy, he does beautiful things
Probably the best and most soulful jazz player since Wes, and often as imaginative as Holdsworth, this guy’s destined to be a GIANT among the greats...
As someone who has been watching him since he had his red SG and was barely a teen. I love to see this comment. Because he is finally getting the recognition he deserves. He's gonna be one of the best to ever touch a guitar.
As imaginative as Holdsworth, but he also ‘burns!’
Agree
@@godzoo18 So is Allan.
Wes Montgomery is so far back that he's stopped being a meaningful point of comparison for guitar players and lovers. Yes, some of them will pay lip service to Wes to improve their creds in the eyes of the public, just like they sometimes claim the influence of other classic jazzers or even legit composers, with none to be noticeable. For example, Holdsworth claimed Coltrane was a big influence even though he recorded not more than half a dozen straight-ahead jazz tunes. The modern guitar playing starts with Pat Martino, who performed straight-ahead and jazz-rock fusion equally originally. His 1977 album Joyous Lake is still one of the best fusion recordings ever made.
Yamaha is doing an excellent job in hiring excellent young artist to demonstrate its products. I wonder why more players aren’t using these products. This young man certainly captures the vibe of a young Pat Metheny.
I posted a similar thread on the "Gear Page" a few weeks ago. I found odd that Yamaha is very well known for a lot of items. A lot of users tend to forget that first emblem of Yamaha was three tuning forks.
They make quality instruments, at least for those made in Japan. Strangely though, Yamaha seems to be a brand for beginners. When I went to the store to purchase my son's first electric guitar, I was told Squier or Ephiphone were the best for starting.
But the guy that was helping me recommended that I purchased a Yamaha Pacifica instead. Trust me he said; he will not be disappointed.
Several years after, my son still plays that same guitar. He is no longer a beginner, but he does not want to change.
@@p6x2 Pacifica and other Yamaha series are better than most Squier and Epiphone indeed. Solid choice for beginners and solid platform to mod for advanced/pro players.
PRS is taking over the guitar world by storm. A vast majority of modern electric guitar aesthetics is horrendous even after copying others'.
PRS has overall beauty. Sound quality, classic guitar design/aesthetics playability comfortability.
Notice how their design took ideas from older instruments, Cello or violin, their shape. Their beautiful inlays. The design looks more vintage than Fenders Ibanez Gibson Gretsch etc..
Their appreciation for the wood from trees of the earth. Just amazing company.
@@tigerstripe3820 There are so many guitar manufacturers now. I am from the days when the choice was limited between the two that we know. While I agree with you that PRS changed the quality assurance on guitars, I am having issues with "overpriced" instruments. Today's industrialization means the manufacturing process no longer requires qualified artisan labor. The production line relies on machinery and no longer on skills. I cannot find justification on their pricing.
I have now switched my patronage to boutique Luthiers.
@@p6x2 on a different thread we talk about how it's impossible for some people to ever acquiring a PRS because of the price. You are right, _overpriced!_
Ive never seen a "mainstream" amp being demonstrated with jazz, so watching this feels great
Jaco brought a new approach to playing the bass and a very identifiable sound, I think Matteo is doing the same, what an incredible player he is.
the clarity per note he articulates whether during lyrical phrasing or bebop lines is too brilliant for me im going blind
His father did a great job!And yes:he is gifted!
Musical maturity way beyond his years
This kid is the future of guitar. I can't believe only 10yrs of playing and he's smoking his piers. Every guitar and gear manufacturers best give him everything and hope he is happy. To bad he can't play with Chick Corea now. (RIP) to a icon we grew up loving.
che straordinario musicista, non solo chitarrista, sarebbe riduttivo. Matteo, orgoglio italiano, e secondo me solo all'inizio di una carriera che sarà ricordata!
Esattamente
All the jazz greats are proud of the inspiration they have contributed to this young man.
I'm a big fan of Matteo since a long time now, I'm happy that Yamaha noticed him !!
What I love is his unique sense of melody beyond the outstanding technique. Very rare : virtuoso tend to play to much useless notes , but not him!
🎯🎯🎯
Completely agree. Speed for the sake of speed is useless. This guy has magnificent feel.
He's inspired by the greats of jazz who exhibit extraordinary feeling in their performances.
2:39 to 2:42 His novel right hand technique proves there are no technical limitations in his playing. Machine-like accuracy with soul. A most impressive combination.
Incredible lyricism, invention, and execution. The extraordinary technique almost doesn't matter.
That lick at 3:02 melted my brain, awesome to see that you are getting more attention, been huge fan!
Hah same, I rewound like 3 times.. that is amazing skill
@@tristangruener9571 same. it was nuts.
Holy smokes!
Yes
no. that melted our brain
Sono felice che questo enorme talento sia accompagnato dalla serietá e dalle buone maniere di un giovane signore a modo, come Matteo.
Kid Fantastic! That's what I'm calling him. As a Classical/Jazz/Fusion Guitarist, I know how difficult it is to play rest strole/free stoke on electric guitar strings. Especialy if you have nails for classical guitar application. My nails snagg on the thin, flexible stings of an electric. But this guy toughed it out and did what I've always tried to do. I'm glad that I now have someone to study, who has done it. Makes me happy to see this guying doing it. I guess I'm just a quitter. Maybe I'll just buck up again and try a little harder. Thanks Matteo, for inspiring this old dog to try new tricks. Kid Fantastic!
The face of the future of guitar. This guy is going to be an all-time great.
Going to be?
This guy has surpassed 'great'.
Brings tears to my eyes it's so wonderful. What a fabulous virtuoso player. A joy to watch and listen to.
This guy is nothing less than phenomenal.
Senza parole.... semplicemente prodigioso, baciato dalla grazia Divina.
Been following Matteo Mancuso's progress for a little bit now. Glad to see he's getting some recognition!
This dude is in the zone.
I saw him playing live and his right fingers just broke my eye's fps
Haha yes
ahahhaa
Me too
In more than 20 years of watching guitar videos I have never seen someone playing like this 😀 !!! The right hand is more positioned like a bass player would do! Awesome licks and melodic pattern 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Una delle realtà musicali più belle del momento. Ti auguro di non perdere mai la freschezza, la genuinità e la semplicità di comunicazione
This is the way.
Matteo has opened a new door of musicality.
He is walking this path and we are vacuuming it all up.
Matteo is currently the guitarist of a new era
epoch of the best guitarists in the world.
Ringrazio CZcams perché, come spesso capita, mi ha fatto conoscere questo eccezionale chitarrista jazz cercando ben altro su ampli....Davvero molto tecnico, preciso, piacevole....wow! Complimenti!!
The cleanliness and choice of notes...astonishing.
yes ..and the soundchanges... I mean ..the quality of his sound ..is in his fingers..
True
Matteo's phrasing represents the sublimination of decades of jazz guitar evolution. Something we probably don't fully appreciate yet. His phenomenal talent and versatility are truly unique. Can't have enough of his music. Matteo sei davvero un genio, incredibilmente versatile.
Absolutely agree
Breathtaking.
Electric guitar never sounded sweeter. And Matteo is just the man to bring out the honey.
This escalated quickly. I’m forever impressed.
How is it even possible that Yamaha has the greatest talent of today and maybe the most promising guitarist alive
One of the best solos I've ever heard. This guy is just amazing.
che SPACCIMMA di chitarrista abbiamo qui al sud!!!!!!!! loving it
Great to see a new video of this outstanding young player. As unique and revolutionary as Stanley Jordan.
Amazing, italian proud!
Picking style reminds me of bass players. Very smooth and great sounding amp.
Besides the THR30II, I am discovering guitarists I did not even know existed. A very interesting right hand style. Many guitarists play fingerstyle with their picking hand. They usually strum chords with their thumbs. Matteo picks the chords too. I think that is unique, and contributes to the specific tone he gets. Bravo!
If ever they do another G3 (or similar type) tour, Matteo needs to be one of the headliners. This cat's phrasing alone is far more mature than his age would suggest. Not to mention his wonderful technique.
The theme sounds like the ending of 'Third Wind' by the Pat Metheny group.
This guy is nuts though. Crazy player with good taste and incredible timing and feel for rhythm!
If I own Yamaha or any other music company out there i'll be heavily promoting Mr.Mancuso just for sheer existence in the music world. This guys talent is off the charts. And if you watch his other personal videos, he ain't just a jazz stuff guy very much well rounded. Hell he jammed with a band that covered High and Dry and his phrasing was on point with the solo. Damn, what a talent.
Silky smooth + ground shattering technical skill and improvisation. Just wow. No wonder Al Di Meola and Stevie Vai have called this kid a prodigy and evolution of the guitar
Simply wonderful. This guy has a magic touch.
Absolutely beautiful playing, wow..
Matteo is one of the only modern guitarists that I can watch for hours on end. Everyone else just pales in comparison.
That's just plain stupid. There are so many good guitarists such as Marco Sfogli, Igor Paspalj, Luca Mantovanelli, Nick Johnston. Stop acting as if we are in the brink of extinction with regards to music.
Still waiting for an album from him.....
This song he played here is the 2nd song in his new album!
No one told me you're allowed to play a guitar like that !
I know... but they should be telling us that you can!
There is no "you can't" in Art expression, that's the beauty of it.
@333jas nothing metheny about it. Sounds like a mixture of Adam Rogers, Frank Gambale and Guthrie Govan to me.
@@user-ye2sf8zd1k Or just 'Matteo'.
He stands by himself, quite happily.
@@gedofgont1006 absolutely, but people accumulate influences, and if somebody wants to play that game, I'm happy to point them in the right direction. I'm not denying his individuality or quality as a player, which is self evident.
Revstar love ftw. Such underrated guitars. Dude playing it is gonna be one to watch too.
This guy is a Genius!!!
Wow! Great choice Yamaha! No THE BEST choice! Give him ANYTHING he wants! He is the next level of guitar, that is a great looking guitar btw
Nice playn!!!!.......young guy to b playn that jazz triplets with such timing persuasions .....I could listen all day n nite .....but off I go .....to play my jazz fusion insanity!......much love!
Un vero onore per la Yamaha avere Matteo in questa demo. Talento disumano
Clean and clear sounds
Incredible
Un auténtico disparate tanta maestría y calidad!!m7cha inteligencia musical y una técnica endemoniada! Bueniiiiisiiimoooooo
Finally ! Thank you Yamaha
Matteo Respektos
What a great player this kid is! True artist! Bravo Matteo!
Unrivaled electric fingerstyle technique
Damn that’s some beautiful playing
non poteva rimanere inosservato ancora a lungo. Grande Matteo Mancuso!
I was waiting for Matteo to explode for over a year now! It's finally happening!
His playing is so fluid wow
indeed..
Wow. Just wow. That’s some good playing. Amp sounds nice, too.
Sounds amazing, superb technique. Matteo has his own sound.
Wow....now that was a surprise! Amazed I havn't heard of this dude......
incredible sound and beautiful phrasing, I don't care what haters think, he's awesome and going places for sure!!!! congrats.
Amazing playing. A real pleasure to listen to Super.
Magnifique virtuose, mais surtout, et avant tout, un grand musicien !
Oh my God his play style. Love it!
I can definitely see the start of a different breed of guitar players, this young man is a wizard
This guy is grand master. Remember his name.
every time i see someone playing a Revstar they sound amazing! i mean every time! yet i never hear much talk about them, super underrated.
How can Matteo play that clean having that right hand technique is one of the mankind’s biggest unsolved mysteries to me... specially in other videos when playing with distortion effect
String mute down the bottom of the guitar
😃Jaco - Pat - Wes - George combo👏👏👏🎸🎼🎶
Gives a new definition to "going for a walk".
I'm inspired.
Bravissimo Matteo...come sempre!
I'm so glad he is quickly being recognised as a modern guitar maestro.
Seriously ....how good is this guy ?
Dopo un video così mi sento scoraggiato e allora vado a vederrmi un video di Richard Benson e mi sento di nuovo alla grande. After a video like this i feel down so i go to see a video of Richard Benson and then i feel good again...
Ti consiglio "I nani" 😂
I have this exact guitar, maybe mine was from a bad batch
lolol!!
mmhh.. let's say may be.. ;)
Ahahah
People are saying he is destined to be this and that. He already is! He has arrived. I have never heard such clarity of every note, such smoothness, never a hint of an error after a million notes. The next immortal Italian genius. Michelangelo of the guitar. Italian music has had is share of lamness since electric guitar era began. Matteo has brought Italy into the major leagues in a big way.
Same thought
excellent amp and amazing player
Greatness of MM is so evident
WTF this guy's technique is insane. How am I just hearing about him? Also, I completely forgot this was a product demo. The tone is absurdly good. Beautiful playing helps of course, but really I think I'm gonna pick one of these bad boys up once Amazon gets em back in stock :O
Fuuu this guy can play anything from Guthrie to Pat. Check his channel 🕵
Started watching Matteo when he was 12, and have been asking the same question since then. He just re-wrote the past 100 years of guitar playing...
I’m blown away every time I see and hear Matteo’s beautiful guitar playing. Truly awe-inspiring!!! As awesome as the new THR II amp is, unfortunately it doesn’t come with any of the talent shown in these videos. 😉 But it WILL make you want to practice more as it doesn’t get any easier than with a Relay G10T wireless transmitter! 🤘😜 Can’t wait to pick one up!!!
first time for me, wonderful! What's the story of his finger technique, is that classical style or bass or something?
@@everythingisopen that looks very much like a bass player's style to me! Translates to nice, fat notes on guitar! Me likey!
@@everythingisopen they look like rest strokes classical/flamenco inspired.
@@everythingisopen He studied classical guitar ay the Palermo Music Conservatorium. That's where it mainly comes from. Matteo can play almost ANY style, check out his Fusion-Rock-Jazz trio SNIPS...there's lots here on YT...
Complimenti Matteo!!!!! E' un grandissimo piacere ascoltare ciò che suoni e come lo suoni!! Grazie anche a Yamaha che offre queste opportunità
This guy has a fantastic technique!
Exceptional talent
FIRST TIME knowing Matteo😊😊 damn great prowess
I can only describe that as soothingly delightful!
Some people have talent, some don't. Matteo does, end of.
Matteo è un miracolo.
Came here for the amp, stayed to discover this amazing player!
Bravo! Great player and beautiful sounding equipment.
Beautiful playing. Greetings from Germany to you and Yamaha!
I just discovered this kid hahahah what a breath of fresh air !!!!
Go baby go 💪👏👏👍👍😁
he is he best yamaha sg player rn for me
My 1st Yamaha was a BB 300. My second was a Rhino 660. 3rd RMAX 1000. Yamaha just makes excellent products!
Great Playing & a fine Art of Sound !
Thanks for Matteo & Yamaha...
