- After pushing back the barbarian tribes of the north, Yrridian faces his greatest foe yet: a ShadowPlay bug that corrupts over 30 turns of quality footage.
Oh, and the Huns show up too I guess.
Music is Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, performed by the U.S. Army Band - Hry
(Appreciation post / channel update):
First of all, wow, almost 30k subs and East Rome’s broken a million views. I genuinely appreciate each and every one of you, from the fans that comment about how hard they nutted 10 seconds after I upload, to the fans that trash-talk my army comps, to the fans that just quietly watch, and especially to that one guy in Switzerland who rewatched East Rome so much that the Swiss average view time was 140% of the video’s length. You guys and girls are the best.
Making these videos is pretty much the only work I’ve ever enjoyed, so I’m going to try and make it actually pay, so I can justify spending more time on it. I’m applying to be a CZcams partner, so I can run ads and earn a few bucks that way, and I’ll be starting a Patreon sometime in the next month or two (I’ll announce it alongside an upload). Unfortunately this means I have to stop using copyrighted music, but fortunately the CZcams audio library has a pretty good range, including a ton of classical, so hopefully that won’t have a significant impact on quality.
Finally, sorry about the lack of tutorial/strategy videos, I know I told at least a few people in comments they were coming soon. I’ve got the recording equipment and the gameplay footage, but ya boi’s got autism (yes actually) and is awkward as hell talking into a mic. Going to keep trying on that front but I can’t guarantee I’ll have something to upload soon.
Apart from the usual memes, of course.
Keep it up man, these are great!
We love you! Keep making these great videos! I really liked how to play as the lizardmen, really amazing work put into each video!
''Ya bois got autism'' hol up. For real? Anywho don't matter. You got vids that makes me want to choke myself so I can't laugh anymore and that says something. Keep it up.
Best of luck to ya mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish you best of luck!

Not only hilarious, I almost let a tear (you know, the feeling of hope residing in one of the most unusual or not so numbered units... like the Spartans in the wars against Persia)

They would have used them at themselves, cuz internal conflicts :)

The only best way to beat hordes of horse archers
There have been historical cases of certain leaders spamming certain type of troops and winning lol

10/10 for understanding the musical symbolism of the overture and the art edits.

Also before anyone asks, here’s my thoughts on Three Kingdoms, after about 10 hours of gameplay:
-Battles are pretty arcade-y and I’m not a big fan, units seem to die really fast and the fights rarely reach 10 minutes, even during sieges. Records mode doesn’t seem to do much to change that either. The more I play them the less I hate them though, so maybe I'll come around on that.
-The difference between Records and Romance is pretty minor in my opinion. I like the combat of both Warhammer and Attila, but regardless of the mode the combat here feels uncomfortably trapped between the two extremes. Heroes are a lot weaker and have a lot less abilities in Romance than in Warhammer, and combat in Records is a lot more fast-paced and less immersive than Attila, and I’d probably prefer them to be more distinct from one another.
-Province management has a lot of good things going for it. Population is back and it’s actually a great mechanic here, and there’s a lot of building options and not always an obvious right answer of what to do. Still not as complex as province planning in Attila, but much better than Warhammer.
-The reforms system is neat, though it’s pretty disappointing that only one faction has the ability to increase research rate.
-CA please stop making every goddamn faction start the exact same way (one town, one army, mission to fight adjacent slightly worse army, then take their town to complete your province, then more quests basically dictating what to do for the next 10 or so turns). It’s the worst thing about Warhammer and it’s even worse here.
-Army-building is cool, I like the way you end up with each arm of your force falling under a specific commander (red for shock cav, blue for archers etc). Someone please tell me how to move unit portraits though, I don’t want to have to re-recruit perfectly good soldiers because I accidentally bought them in a way where they’re diagonally aligned and I can’t shift-select them.
-The whole aesthetic of the game is awesome, not much more to say there, it just looks good.
-Shoutout to the Kong Rong campaign, where a full doom stack of “rebelling” peasants show up on turn 4 no matter what public order is like, and then immediately attack (and almost certainly capture, unless you were prepared for this to happen) your capital city, and then immediately regain the 1000 casualties I managed to inflict on them the next turn despite my forces needing like 6 turns to do the same. Real fuckin’ cool, I love that.
-Despite all the negatives included above I'm still having fun for the most part. When I'm not playing as Kong Rong, at least.
All in all there’s a lot done right, and the amount of things I thought were done wrong has been shrinking as I’ve played more. It threads the line between Warhammer and Attila (both of which I really like) in a sometimes unsatisfying way, but overall I’ll give it a cautious recommendation.
btw I keep trying to post a channel update but it keeps getting deleted, so if you saw that appear and then disappear a few times that's why. Hopefully I can get it to stick soon.
At least you got to have trebuchets 😏
So basically you're a tryharder 😂
Wait, combat is even faster than in Attila?
Have waited a long time for this one. Solid edits, love it
Dude this is great. Make more!
Things are turning around boys

2:39-2:44 is by far the cruellest cliffhanger you could have possibly ended this on.
daevious i haven’t played the game but I assume that’s when Attila shows up?
@@captainpoontah4888 The Huns are pretty much a historical boss faction in the game, and if you are playing as the WR Attila is basically with his loads and loads of armies and multiple lives the first historical final boss in the series.

This is now my favorite series on CZcams. Laughed so hard at pretty much every single one of your videos. Genuinely good humor. LOVE THIS
The Introduction of the Heavy Onagers honestly gets me so hyped every time I watch it. Thank you so much for making this!
Who would win?
A horde of cavalrymen that manages to threaten both West and East Rome that's the finest in the world back then?
Or some Onagers

The editing in this series is amazing. Thank you for all your hard work.
And here I thought I will never get to see part 3, love your videos man, good to know there are still people making great content based on Total War Attila, that game sure needs some love.

Anyone still waiting for the part 4?
By far one of my favourite editors on CZcams. Some editors make funny videos, some make awesome ones. But you manage to do both!
The content and editing and the sound.. this is A-class work man!
Ok after just two of these kinds of videos, I'm subscribing.

Good Job With The Video Man
No cap you have the best total war vids I've ever seen
Christ man you are splicy editing genius! These are great!
Careful Yrridian, being able to fend off a few nomad tribes does not make the heavy Onnager the superior siege engine!
Yep, huns are pushovers
Well, the counterweight trebuchet, able to launch a 90 kg projectile over 300 m hadn't been invented yet. It was the work (allegedly) of Alexios Comnenos.
As if Tschaikowsky-wrote the music for your video. Perfect work! Great!
Just rewatched this. Your videos always make me want to try WRE again. Great job!
I've seen the Trebuchet montage like a dozen times now, it always cracks me up
