- With the Huns pushed back, the ERE forced to make peace, and the Sassanids too far away to pose a real threat, the Western Empire is on a surefire path to victory. The only thing that could challenge Rome at this point is a charismatic young noble exploiting the power vacuum amongst the Hunnic leadership to take charge and energise them into an unstoppable army hell-bent on Rome's destruction, but what are the odds of that?

@@madavarams268 2 years ago there was no such thing however some player build guardhouse or simply station lots of spear troops. Make battle time 20 min and draw every siege

I love how you use all the lessons learned in the previous videos (use of unwalled town's terrain, flanking with cav, onagers etc). This truly feels like an underdog story where the underdog gets beaten, learns and finally wins.

The descendants of old heroes unknown either to them or to others heeded the call to fight, For those doomed to live in the end times nevertheless were still connected to the ideals of a bygone golden age it didn't matter how little did they share the values and practices that once made Rome great nor how well they did. It would take everything the empire had to stop Attila from destroying it all.

Can I just say that you're able to capture the experience of late Roman history as a story with these videos perfectly? Things seem bleak, then there's this wonderful period of restoration that restores hope, like the onagers or you becoming Magister Militum with spearmen stacks, and you feel for a moment that victory might be within grasp, that everything might be okay... and then something else comes, bringing fire and war, and there is no end, and things seem dire all over again.
It reminds me a bit of the later episodes of Unbiased History, captures that same kind of "and then Rome fixed _that_ problem, and things got worse", all very appropriate for the Fall of Rome.
