Fun Fact: Sanctuary only has an activation restriction. None of it's effects are Hard Onces. So multiple Face-up Sanctuary is absolutely baller.
What I really appreciate is that the new Garunix makes the OG better as well as it now makes a single boardwipe and free level 8 into an additional level 8 with effectively a multi-purpose pop if even just 1 of your monsters gets destroyed by OG Garunix' Dark Hole effect. That also sets up a lot of added disruption if you have a bit of setup. For example if you summon the rank 8 and try to destroy the board, but your opponent say negates and destroys it because they need their field to survive, you can then just re-summon both level 8 Garunix and then have the new one destroy the new Kirin from your deck, which reborns something and then pops yet another card, this time it can even be your opponents. It's very telegraphed if you know the cards, but multi-layered at the same time, makes the deck push through monster negation much better and gives the deck a lot of added recovery and consistency.
Also, don't underestimate the ability of the rank 8 to pop a spell/trap turn 1. You can attempt to pop your FK Island and protect it with Sactuary and pop another FK monster instead, even the rank 8, which then can just nets you back both level 8's, 1 it is floating into and the new Garunix you detached for cost so that it can trigger off the rank 8 being destroyed, which then can pop Kirin to revive your rank 8 Garunix, which is 9600 damage on board (new level 8 Garunix will have 3900 ATK, OG has 2700 and the rank 8 has 3000).
There is also 1 other usable Xyz monster to summon during the opponent's turn, at least with setup: Gigantic Champion Sargas. The deck is already capable to make rank 4 monsters pretty easily, so having an Xyz monster to trigger Sargas is far from impossible. Still, the obvious choice here is clearly the new Garunix, which is just absurd in the context of the deck.
Oh and the ability of the new level 8 Garunix to destroy any fire Tri-Type makes it possible to just pop a Tri-Brigade Kitt in your deck to get that engine online as well, so even a minimal Tri-Brigade engine will not be hard to access in Fire Kings going forward.
Damn why is everybody seemingly unaware of the og Kirin being able to send Tri-Kitt and give you a free DDL or even a Shuraig?
Because originally no one played it until it was forgotten for the most part. Later on people started using it to enable Jet Synchro lines and therefore Halqifibrax combos, but the card never had a major spotlight. But that might very well change.
They usually show 1 really good card in the first 4 reveal. Then show the best card last. When doing new Structure Deck Rs.
The deck could be rogue once the last 4 cards are revealed. Scareclaw Tri heart won't be destroyed by your fire kings and can be made with one card. Tri brigade Kitt is a fire beast monster you can destroy in deck. The horus cards are a constant source of rank 8 and pressure.
But u can out it pretty easely with the new Kirin cause its not a on field eff
I thought the main turn-one-combo these new cards enable was:
-activate Sanctuary
-use it to activate Fire King Island from your deck
-use Island to destroy a monster in your hand and search new Garunix
-immediately summon new Garunix by his own effect
-use his effect to destroy either old Garunix or Sacred Phoenix
-during your opponents Standby Phase the destroyed monster comes back
-you can use Sanctuary to summon XYZ-Garunix and nuke your opponents board during their turn
The problem is old Garunix would destroy new Garunix on summon, while Sacred phoenix would destroy Sanctuary, making the XYZ-play impossible. So how are you supposed to consistently set up the XYZ-summon of Garunix during your first turn?
Sacred Phoenix unfortunately returns on y o u r next SB. The fact is you can make new Garunix be in the GY at the end of your turn in a variety of way, while having another FIRE monster on the field. So that when the old one come back, the new one summon itself from the GY too and have 2 LV8 on field
Edit: I was forgetting: on the second summon of new Garuxin (the one in your opp turn)... it's at that moment that you're going to destroy SacredPhoenix if you want to

I really wish the deck will get an havnis like card, just something that when opponent does x specials itself and pops a card in your hand. Would be a pretty cool way to make going second even nicer for this deck
Going 2nd, the new Kirin can pop Yaksha, and then Yaksha can pop kirin, which revives yaksha and makes kirin an interruption. Not as crazy as havnis, but something is there xD
I don't know why no one mentioned Kirin, that card is perfectly acceptable for modern standards. It can special summon itself from hand, or you can pop it to bin any fire monster. You can send Fengli the Soldrapom or Jet Synchron to get Synchro plays going, send Kitt to go for Tri-Brigade plays, and there are some other fun things you can send like Blaster, Volcanic Rimfire, various Salamangreat cards or whatever else you can think of.
I usually use fire king with nephtys and yubel. It works pretty well, unless I see Baroness de Fleur, or Tearlaments/ishizu being used against me.
Im happy that fire kings are getting some love, but yeah, the original cards are quite outdated now. I wonder if theyll continue to rework the others?

This is my duel links deck and the deck i used to top my 1st regional back when fire fist was ised with the deck. Im so happy for this and these new cards are so good.
Sanctuary does not activate, it places, also there’s some good Firekings, if you view Kirin as a hand trap like havnis was, but easier to trigger, basically if you destroy anything decent in hand you have an interruption turn 0, you can kirin destroy new bird, summon new bird, pop barong, and that’ll give you a search when you start playing, and two lvl 8 to make the XYz right away unless they’re answered, and Kirin pops if destroyed so they can’t destroy it so easily. Also you can pop fencing fire ferret to just pop 1 monster, or you better yet, pop OH Big bird to wipe all monsters when you start, making your opponent board useless unless they set up cards that can’t be destroyed, either way, going second you have some crazy hand trap options with Kirin. Lil Kirin foolishes, so it can get the new bird so that can come out from grave, it also specials itself so it Swarm as well as lil bird, and both Beast-Warriors also swarm, even though their effects are rough, it’s still fine because you can search Kirin who again, can be a pretty strong hand trap.

Shavara locks you into fiends and the extra deck of unchained needs dark or fiends, so No, despite unchained would benefit from destroying your own cards, it won't fit into firekings.

The rank-8-pool is quite powerfull already. Depending on the board-state Draglubion can win you the game. Teardrop the Rikka Queen can tribute an opponents monster, which is very strong removal. Cypher Dragon can steal an opponents monster and then you can rank up on the stolen monster.
It should also be noted that XYZ-Garunix destroys your own stuff as well, which you don't always want.

Cosmic cyclone kills this deck if fire king players try to revolve this deck around the field spell. I don’t think the field spell is good at all in fire kings due to that removal destruction effect.
12:12 it might actually be better then perlino in a vacuum. Obviously one searches the best archetype of all time and the other an outdated archetype that was never more than a rouge option when it wasn't outdated, but ignoring that, I mean.

These cards are not at all good but it DOES make it a fun rogue strat for locals. Will def be picking these up on release.

I don't think so, but depending on how good the rest of the support is, it could be a decent rogue deck.

@@johnnycapote9817 Of course we don't _know_ that, but from the cards we've seen so far there's too few good fire kings for them to be playable. The new dark hole xyz might be an option to play as an engine, but then the question is if your main goal was to get that effect why not just play dark hole instead? If we get a couple more good cards it could be interesting though.
@@hannessteffenhagen61 cause darkhole aint searchable and Eternity is in the extra deck.....and they can easily make Eternity and thanks to sanc it can happen on opps turn.

the rank 8 is basically the black rose of xyz and the surprising part is that while blackrose sees no longer this very well could. xyz are just that much better than synchro are they now
i wouldnt go so far as to say xyz are better, but they are more generically available when going second
I mean, it's substantially better than blackrose. It doesn't destroy itself, it floats, it can pop spells... The only real downside is that it's somewhat harder to perform a quick xyz than quick synchro.
The issue is, pre rev synchron, we have a very very hard time actually summoning synchro 7 generically. What decks offer both level 4 and 3s in archetype, while playing past blackrose?
