the company who made it is "Battle Systems" they make so many cardboard terrain and Mats. The also made the very good boardgame "Core Space". They have their building tutorials only as vidoes on their website, what's also very far from ideal if you just got the set.

I bought this set when it released. My mat was really bad quality, the mousepad material completely dried out and broke everywhere. I still have it but it's not usable anymore.

That sucks to hear. The original wave of minis and stuff wasn't the best compared to how it is now.
