  • Welcome.
Here's a video i just made of me servicing the front brake on my Transalp 600. Its the first time i've done them on the Transalp and they were well overdue.
Its made basically to watch alongside the proper service manual for anybody who wishes to attempt it themselves. Its not hard at all, though i can't say this went totally as planned but hey thats how it is.
Cheers to Jozillion, for a coupe of things i needed help with.
Let me know if any of you have any cool suggestions or tips that doesn't include buying better tools... they... along with a lot of other stuff, will come in time.

The main riff to this track is actually the riff from the last track of the original "Borderlands" game, just in case you thought it sounded familiar. Sometimes I like to groove on simple riffs and this one is pretty awesome. :)

You could just clean the pistons without removing them completely. Excellent video, thanks for sharing!

It's the same way for transalp 650?

I'd suggest using a small g clamp for putting the pistons back in, I'm also embarassed to admit I couldn't figure out how to split the caliper from the carrier bracket the last time I did mine, need to do them again properly anyway. Same calipers as on the Vfr 750, except I have two of them :(

Hey mate. I can see where your coming from with the g clamp, nice idea. The bracket carrier separating was one i didn't know either. i looked through some diagrams and had to ring a friend, only to feel foolish when all you did was slide it apart!

Hi someone else dont remove the 2 pistons cylinders, only use 600 grain paper to polish.
Thx, and no need of the wise grip to blok oil.
Don t touch it. Thx regards,
