Very good ! Take care not to say positive and negative in AC Circuits. It is Phase and neutral.
No it is called line or live and neutral. Live is mistakenly said Phase by road side uneducated electrician.
Actually a electrician should be check the eirthing by measuring voltage of Neutral to eirth which shows 1-3 number.
This is electrical method and 100% eirthing in house

Remember right hand + left hand, right hand + left leg and left hand+ right leg electricity pass most dangerous situation hai. Aur India ke 230 Volts me aise combination pe death hoga, bachna muskil hai. Jo log electric shock khane ke bwajoot vi jinda hai unko aur kisi alag position me shock laga hoga, jaise right hand + right leg or left hand + left leg, right hand + right side of body ya left hand + left side of body. Hi friend, I liked the video. You shows the simple idea to check the earthing by line tester. Thanks.
Brother line tester is not at all sufficient for ensuring proper earthing. Better a test lamp with 100 watts lamp. Even if there is little earth the tester will glow which will give you wrong indication , if it is lamp the glow will be dim and you can know that the earring is not proper. The value of earth in domestic cases is less than 8 ohms.
Earthing voltage should not be more than 3 volt for electronics instruments

Hello whenever i try to check earthing using a bulb, i put neutral wire to earth port and line wire to power when i do rccb is tripping whats the cause .... Why rccb tripping wen i try to check

Thank you. One suggestion to you dear, there are no + or - in AC line, only phase and neutral with ground or earthing. But you give a very useful knowledge to me which i want to know from a long time.
Bulb holder test lamp se check kare
A good earthing measure u shold get the voltage neutral and earth not greater then 3 v in multimeter ac port. If its not 3 v then earth is not working if any phase to ground fault.
@Meghnad Mr Meghnad , i want one favour from u. At my 3 pin geyser socket , tester shows light if I insert in earth pin. I have already installed geyser at that pin and it works well. Water tap also doesn't show current in tester. Geyser works well. I m confused what to do ? Is there any risk if I continue to use geyser? Plz reply.

Yes, I know in AC system posative is called phase and negative is called neutral but who will became my viewer it is not nessasory that he/she has that knowledge. so, to simplify everything I said posative and negative by the way thanks for your compliment.
Passive never be phase and negative as well as neutral. A wrong interpretation.

Sir, when voltage measured between L terminal and Earth, 256/257 volts was indicated by multimeter. However, voltage measured between Line and Neutral, it was indicated as 238 Volts maximum. How and why? There should be almost equal voltage when measured between L terminal with either Earth or Neutral. Please clarify about 20 volts difference.

Your knowledge is not perfect. If 200 watt lamp blow perfect between phase and earthing then lastly you say earthing is now completely ok.

@ 3:43 , multimeter ka input impedance Mega ohms me hota hai.. touch karne se body resistance uske series me hi aayega.. koi shock nhi lagega.. its safe to touch negative terminal..

I did it with a bulb. One end in +ve phase and other to the ground. The light glows . Hence it was ok

The ports are not +ve & -ve. Those are phase and neutral. You just showed improper earthing. You didn't explain how to solve it.

Brother nothing was visible while checking with tester. You only mentioned of putting wire in earthing and not where to insert tester, which for the layman should have been important to mention. One more thing is that there is no negative/positive in AC. Instead say Phase/Neutral.
I am not criticising you but you should be clear on the subject.
