Rabbi Friedman is not only a talmid chacham but also a wonderful human being who literally gives people life and causes them to love Hashem with a passion. I have a family member who grew up in the typical frum world and he barely learned and did mitzvos... until he started learning with Rabbi Friedman. Hashem should bless him and give him strength to keep spreading his message.

@@sapphyx26 You clearly didn't understand what he said there. He said that a person who was molested did nothing wrong; in other words, they shouldn't feel guilty. They have more guilt for missing al hamichya! Rabbi Friedman is one of the most amazing humans I've ever heard and then been able to meet. He helps survivors of abuse far more than you can imagine.

@@SeekingToServe No Yiddele, I DID understand what he meant. He is still incorrect according to Torah. To falsely compare the aveira of rape to missing al hamichya is laughably stupid. HaShem knows this also! For helping survivors as you say, it is beyond ridiculous he will say that in yeshivah "most" students are molested. And yes, we have proof he said that.
His judgment is coming soon enough, regardless of whatever "good" he has brought.

@@sapphyx26 Yuck. It so sad that some of you are so... vile. And no, you didn't understand. He was talking to the survivor, not the rapist. For the rapist, the averah is horrific, but for the survivor who is often overwhelmed by guilt, there is NO averah. It's not their fault. And that was the point: You should feel more guilty if you miss a nuch bracha than over the fact that you were violated. It's simply not YOU who should feel guilty. It's the other party. And yes, most kids in the world get molested. It's a sad truth. There are many sick people the world over.

Why would a Higher Being explains to us, four thousand years ago in details the origin of the universe, no one would have understood and even today, if we knew we probably would try to experiment and maybe end up destroying everything. I love Rabbi Manis messages and his personal perspective.
To compare him to Santa Claus ( who was eerily reminiscent of the Idol where children were immolated ) is a far stretch 🤔 of the imagination.
Rabbi Manis is a Mystic Man who makes many people think ...
I can't think of anything he said that was contrary to the Commandments.
He is a person that has insight and personal charm that comands respect and is endearing .His topics and his style engender the Fear of Hashem in me ,it's like his words are mysteriously tailored for me . LIKE a wise compassate Uncle ( I'm Noachide ) he is stern to remind me to strive to be holy and eschew my wicked impulse.
I know he must be gauging many reactions through his interactions. Whatever flaws he may present to some in style or interpretation are necessary to make us think . 🤔
IT IS GOOD TO KNOW .
He has many things to say and he can say them without the need/ use of words.

The following answer finishes this debate once and for all:
Whatever reasons G-d has unto himself, we're not allowed to speculate. And whatever those reasons are beyond his desire to be Chessed, we SHOULD NOT consider it within our human understanding. If you want context, please read Psalms 50. Please look it up for yourself. The secrets of the Master Architect the King of the Universe, belongs to himself and no one else... Unless you think you're more pious than King David, you better back up and know your place! It clearly says in plain text that anyone can read that even if G-d was hungry or thirsty, he would not tell you! What is the reason? Because what ever G-d has as a secret to himself, is part of his glory שְׁכִינָה Šḥīnā, G-d will not share his glory (needs) with another. Is a mere mortal human being going to strip G-d naked to see what's underneath. There is a reason why it's an abomination for a father to see their son naked or their son to see their father naked, and it extends beyond the physical into the metaphysical world. I'll tell you how disgusting it is for people to speculate on what G-d needs... It's like a son trying to draw a picture of their father naked or imagining what their fathers penis looks like or imagining what their father's sexual needs are. It is an immodest act of degradation for any mere mortal human being to speculate what God's needs are. Are there needs or does G-d have needs, is there skin below your father's clothing, you want to take a look... Such filth and vile of immodesty is disgusting. And there is a boiling pit of feces waiting for you if that's the direction you want to go... JCpenny is waiting for you there.
If you have found yourself speculating on what G-d needs because of assumed leadership roles of certain people such as Santa Claus, now it's your time to repent!

@@arjeeprasad8428 It is told about Abraham, our father, who discovered God and developed his entire monotheistic system already at the age of 3.
And it is told about Rebekah who, at the age of 3, was sent to draw water from the well and met Abraham's servant, Eliezer. The story continues with her conversation with Eliezer and *her* decision to leave her home against the clear wishes of her family, in order to marry Abraham's son, Isaac. And everything that is told about her later, it is evident that she was very mature compared to her young age, and this was probably not unique at that time, since Abraham our father was like that.
However, it is said that Isaac and Rebekah only consummated their marriage when Rebekah was 13. They waited until she was ready.
In conclusion, Rebekah became destined for Isaac at the age of 3 (by her sole decision) and the marriage was consummated after she was ready (got her period) at the age of 13.
I hope I answered your question. btw, there's no shame of being non-Jew, it's not something you had a choice about..

It's not that American Jews are stupid, easily lured or anything like that - this is called cultural differences/backgrounds, or even shock of cultures. Such ideas of R. Friedman would never find echoes in the Middle East, he speaks to his public, though - similarly, your combativeness as a rabbi, which is what's to be expected from a rabbi anywhere in Israel (otherwise he'll be misunderstood before a highly exigent and aggressive public who will also highly reward the ones who are genuine and speak the crystal-clear truth) - which is also the spirit of the scholars of the talmud - might disturb the american liberal spirit of "live and let live", while the new-age hassidic tolerant, everlasting unconditional loving approach - and only small rewards or respect - sounds like sweet exile - Call it "Babylon scholars versus Jerusalem scholars" poking on one another. Jerusalem will have the last word ultimately, since this is where Torah stems from.

@@sarameiragootblatt1819txs for answering / taking the comment in account and 4 Ur time as well - please note Moshiah is supposed to wage wars according to the rambam - note also the pirke avot praise Aharon for seeking the peaceful path and of reconciliation, and even summons the reader to be like him - while Moshe the great leader on the other hand, has been all the opposite, he showed no tolerance for the Egyptian, korah, for the golden calf producers or for Og or Sihon - I tend to think common Jews should be like Aharon, while great leaders like Moshe. I understand the rabbis of the Talmud were very harsh on one another when defending their views, even condemning certain people to have no place in the world to come. So as for a briefing - it sounds that we should follow the teachings of ahavat Israel as you said, while it is ok when the leaders would be harsh on one another, since all of them are honestly struggling for the truth. The rabbi can give a response if he finds it relevant. Ultimately, there are definitely many differences between the approach of an israelis and american Rabbis. Take the cosher switch for example, which has never been even imagined in Israel, or the fact that the reform movement is almost insignificant there. Anyway, waiting for your new insights on the mater - cheers!

Rabbi Meir Kahane said that for an observant Jew (especially living outside Eretz Yisrael), it is impossible to not be influenced to some extent by the prevailing "culture" there. Separation from the influence of the social norms is only a temporary and not an ultimate solution to this problem. I agree with you that, no, the American Jews are not stupid. However, I believe (as I think you do) that many of the lectures by Rabbi Manis Friedman appeal to these Jews, whether or not they are aware of the non-Torah content of his philosophical wanderings from Torah True principles or the persistent pressure of secular society. I could be mistaken here, but I have a "gut feeling" that in Rabbi Manis Friedman, we are viewing a man who possesses an enormous ego while pretending not to have one. Also, Korach, in spite of his "religiosity", also had this problem of ego and unfortunately many were led astray by him also. In re-reading my comment here, I notice that I employed the word "also" three times in a single sentence! That can't be recommended proper English grammar. Then I recall that it was told to me that the first Hebrew letter (Aleph), combined with the middle letter (Mem) and the final letter (Tav) spell out 'EMET" or truth. I also used the word "also" at the beginning, middle and end of that sentence and unconsciously. Since there are no "coincidences", could this be a sign from HaShem that my "gut feeling" is correct? Or that I've also fallen under the same misguided notion that my ego and free thinking (American and Rabbi Manis Friedman style) has affected me also? Bruno, although your comment was from 3 months ago, I hope you are conscious of any replies you get here. Please feel free to criticize or illuminate me on what you think. This by a Ben Noach officially since 2013. Shalom.

it's not fair to call rabbi manis friedman someone trying to be unique, rather he's being brave tackling the hardest psychological issues, like existential crisis, and you may not see what he's appealing to, but I will agree, as a muslim i cannot admit that who created us needs us. rather, i think what rabbi manis friedman is trying to portray, like one of his other videos "there is wisdom and then there is wisdom", that by getting in the head of the creator, or even the head of someone mentally ill, criminal etc, that these are the two biggest questions: why is someone a criminal/mentally ill/kaffir, and how does the creator think. more than that, he's trying to show us what the creator can provide (more on this later). what he means by "there is wisdom and then there is wisdom" here, is that sometimes not just in the torah, in the quran as well and life, words can have 'linguistic miracles' where there is multiple meanings other than the apparent meaning, but because it's not apparent, you cannot speak of it like it's apparent, that's the rule, you cannot revolutionise, recreate, innovate in the religion, as the creator doesn't change. but because there are many opportunities to twist the word of the creator, rather, you should have the enlightenment or guidance to be able to consider those meanings whilst remaining orthodox, using the words and concepts of the torah, sticking as closely as possible, whilst creating (nothing is truly created after what he created, it's all repeated throughout the weeks/history) an allegory out of it, hinting and suggesting at new (nothing is truly new, just feels like it, it may have skipped thousands of generations in reality) emotions, as multiple meanings is closest to emotions. emotions have the most meaning, the apparent is only a few repeated vain words, it's an insult to repeat the words of the creator in vanity, there has to be a pondering into what's deeper. you will misunderstand if you take his words and concepts out of context. if he did not start the 'creator needs us' then nobody will listen. imagine telling people "you need something i made up", it's like selling a mystery box, there could be money more valuable inside than what you're buying, but it's up to the buyer to believe that you're not after profit, because all they think is: if you know what's inside the box, and it's more valuable then what i'd pay for, then why would you sell me the box and not keep it for yourself, losing money on purpose, so it has to be a scam. otherwise, if you tell people, i need you to believe that i'm losing money but i can't tell you that since it's part of the test, that alone is an allegory, it has to remain an allegory, you can't put it into words, you can try but it begins to sound like a comedy routine, so you have to use an allegory, you have to use parables so you really paint the picture: that you don't need what's inside the box, but i need you to believe if you buy this box you will get more than what you put in, at least ten times, and if you ask me why then you don't deserve it. people need to believe in your kindness, they need to hand over their money like a charity, sacrifice, gamble, leap of faith, what's inside the box needs it, that's the price, it needs this charity for your sake, then the box turns out to be a secret billionaire, revealing its true colours as the creator, giving you an eternal reward and honour. in fact, if you truly believe, and have experienced such a plot twist, you wouldn't want to spoil the twist for someone, you sound crazier building it up, like "when it hits you like a tonne of bricks!", so you seek to make it even more allegorical, even less clear out of pride, because what you're proud of is joyous. do you see how you must avoid being a salesman, because the salesman is the scammer, someone trying to profit off of a lie, but if you know what you believe in is the truth, you will start to look crazy, why do you want to lose money so bad, to be humiliated in public, called a scammer, when you're trying secretly to give money instead. unfortunately it gets worse when you tell people you're trying to give them money, it only sounds even more like a scam, so it has to remain an allegory. the problem with people telling you to speak clearly is that the truth has already been turned into a lie by multiple people, if you speak clearly you will only sound like one of those youtube ads promising you'll become rich if you pay $5, since if you take $5 from a two hundred thousand then suddenly you're a millionaire, as the advice you gave them was only motivated to bewilder the senses, like a magic trick, misdirecting you to rob time and money, selling you the entertainment instead, but you are the entertainment in the end. the motivation here nobody can trust, how can the person himself believe what he's motivated by, does he know that a devil is not motivating him, has he seen the creator? even then can you believe his claims. has he heard him like the prophets? seen the angels? even if people believe the person believes he is motivated by kindness, they can only respect that and take it with a pinch of salt. sure it's a good fruit that he's motivated by kindness, anyone motivated by kindness is a good person, but if that kindness is from a source sent to confuse people, change religion, that person himself won't know his good intentions are deluding him. the bottom line is: the days of the prophets are gone, the ones who have seen the angels, heard the creator, or seen his back, there can be no others. right now we are all motivated by good fruits such as kindness, truth, good morals, and some of us are rich in that, having highness in manners, a hand giving to what's lower, but there is also a fight, to destroy liars, false prophets, false messiah's, false gods. in Islam the biggest false messiah that every prophet warned about is coming, he will be a false prophet, false messiah, false god, so all three of our religions have been equipped differently to fight this evil, we all fight in different ways, if we hate the same things we are one. even if people don't see the value of Christianity, it deals most with human false gods and god-complexes. islam deals most with false prophets. Judaism deals absolutely mostly and arguably with the fight of highest importance: false lineages and genealogies. there is an evil brewing, and it's killing us all. there are false gods out there, false prophets, false supremacy of lineages, we need to purge it. for the people of their appearance or skin colour claim to be better than others, whereas in judaism: no skin colour is superior, all Jews, brown, black, white, tan: are jews, masters, with the best lineages from the prophets. here is where we end difference, anti-semitism, islamaphobia (as it's close), also the remaining 'xyz race lives matter' pride that keeps popping up (hopefully including false pride like homosexuality). so again, rabbi manis friedman is bringing us closer to the allegory of "what can our creator provide us with?", the answer is a lot, if you dare ask. it only sounds like he's questioning the creator if you twist his tone of voice like "what can our creator (actually, really, even, possibly) provide us with!", actually he's freeing up space for people to think, by framing it with multiple meanings, including the tone shift, it reaches the most evil, and most good equally. it's more perfect and complete, as it appeals to the world wholly, everyone is included in his speech, the evil and good, there is no distinction. if you take his words as evil, are you sure you're not evil? if you take his words as good, well, you have a good opinion of the creator. even if it's the antonym it's holy, like good cop bad cop, one is the antonym, getting you to think the 'opposite is true' in your head, then comes the good cop confirming what you're thinking is right, that you do have rights to not be abused and shouted at, that there is justice, zero brutality, nothing to be afraid of, as the guy must be thinking "the police is a gang from the looks of this bad cop, it's lawless!" the same with the rabbi, a gangster in confidence, seemingly lawless, but he was actually following the antonym of the script, allowing you to think in the positive, by not only freeing up space for you to take credit for all the positives that come from it, but also posing as the negative, so you feel like you're the good guy, even if it makes him suffer taking on all the negative, as he knows people can't think positively if they think they're the problem or the bad guy. that's the good teacher and parent, acting mean so you think you're such a polite child, becoming worse since they have the right, entitled, yet they don't show off their acting so tough in front of their father, so when you share it with the good cops/nurturers/mothers, they reassure you, so you think you created the plot twist, increasing your intelligence. it's edgy, without making mistakes, you can only suggest illness of it, once you've misunderstand there is disease in your heart, that you misunderstood a rabbi, he wouldn't even want you to understand, i'm sure he could defend himself if he wished to but he's on the attack, he can do it allegorically, integrate your criticism, plot twist as he benefits thanking you so much, leaving what he says as vulnerable as possible, attracting more, growing bigger, that way it's softer, reaches deeper, no ceiling, beyond words, godly, spiritual. Whenever someone gets too big too quick he attracts haters, their purpose: to propel him further. What's godly naturally vexes.
