My ancestors came to Newfoundland. There was no welfare. They were exploited by rapacious merchants, ripped off, flogged, and starved. They survived by learning to claw a meagre living from the land, but their lives only began to improve when a medical missionary came to deliver health care on a subscription basis (we had socialized medicine in Northern Newfoundland decades before Canada did),, set up cooperatives, and other kinds of social welfare. You know, socialism. The deficiency diseases went away, their general health improved, they became more productive, their suffering decreased dramatically. So you can shove your rugged individualism where the sun don't shine. All that attitude did for my ancestors was keep them impoverished.

@@afatcatfromsweden In other words integrating means that muslims needs to learn to speak swedish and adapt to swedish customs. Which means that swedes does not adapt the swedish society to islam, but that muslims adapt to swedish society. Hijab is a sign of political islam and social control of women, values which ar contradictory to western values of freedom and equality. So having a hijab is not in accordance with western values.
Today it is not necessary for muslims to adapt to swedish culture as sweden adapts to islam.
Why is it so hard for muslims to integrate into society? Simply because a lot of the ideas of western culture is contradictory to islamic values and often exclusive to each other.

I am from Sweden, and this is problematic.
I do not feel trust and belonging as I used to, it's changing quite fast.
I never asked for unskilled immigration, criminal immigration or cultural values which goes against my own.
It was forced upon me due to media and politicians shaming everybody who wanted something else by calling them racists, nazis, bigots.. etc.
It really isn't about skin color for me, since I try to treat everybody as an individual, but if certain ethnic groups are disproportionately uneducated, disproportionately criminal and disproportionately have values which goes against western values, then it's hard not to be "racist" by just observing how reality is.
If someone shame we nowadays, I do not care.
    I want my country back!
Although my hopes are not that high, the political correctness run deep in my nation.
I think the only solution in the long run is to split parts of the country, one part which can be run upon multicultural ideals and one which is not.

Yeah, the border should be just north of malmö, rest of the north should belong to "natives"? Yet, I would still not strike that deal while this ground was our forefathers. None has the right to come here and claim it. Anyone wants to live in Sweden? Okay, but only if you adopt Swedish traditions and lifestyles (and language ffs!). Now why would I lash out such a racist comment? Because I would do the same if I moved to another country! I would not expect the people and the nation to adapt to me, I would adapt to them. I would learn their language. I would adopt their traditions with food and celebrations (well, as long as it doesn't involve murder/rape/incest and so on). In short, I would want to become like them.
As for religion. I would never ask someone to leave their religion, but keep it to themselves. We can discuss religious belief, that should be free of choice, but no preaching! Oh, and don't worry. I'm not just sick of Islam; I think the same about Christianity as well. Its just poisonous offsprings of older, spiritual beliefs that was by far more open and understanding, because it was not about power or any "god".

rich carter Jesus Christ. "Taking on the burden of multiculturalism"? I guess you find basically everything in your daily life a burden too then?
      From Wikipedia:
Multiculturalism is a term with a range of meanings in the contexts of sociology, political philosophy, and in colloquial use. In sociology and everyday usage, it is a synonym for "ethnic pluralism" with the two terms often used interchangeably, for example, a cultural pluralism in which various ethnic groups collaborate and enter into a dialogue with one another without having to sacrifice their particular identities. It can describe a mixed ethnic community area where multiple cultural traditions exist or a single country within which they do. Groups associated with an aboriginal ethnic group and foreigner ethnic groups are often the focus."
"various ethnic groups collaborate and enter into a dialogue with one another without having to sacrifice their particular identities."
How on Earth do you find this to be a negative thing? I guess you don't eat pizza either then? Or maybe sushi? How about mathematics, do you use that?

The problem is that the "worldview" upon which Sweden was created, has been eroded to such an extent that the second and third generations who come via immigration, find the philosophy of social democracy, so wishy-washy, they cannot be fulfilled by it. At that point, some (not all of course) start to examine the fundamentals of the culture their forebears migrated from, in order to fill that philosophical vacuum. Some, not all, through that process, become radicalized and see no problem to moving their surrounding culture towards those fundamentals, no matter what it takes.

As a British student who lived in Sweden/Malmo on my year abroad I can only share my personal experience and opinions. That being said, I wholeheartedly agree that there is a problem with immigration in Sweden and to suggest there isn't is due to an ideologically clouded lens. The fact is, the Swedish establishment (mainstream politics/media) are obfuscating the truth, especially in regards to integration and rapes. The police deliberately don't keep statistics on the ethnicity of offenders, as well as hiding behind a broadened definition of what determines rape. A police chief in Norway is on record as saying nearly all rapes committed by someone the victim doesn't know can be attributed to immigrants. It is for you to decide whether it is a fair and logical leap to suggest similar occurrences might be happening in Sweden also.
In regards to integration, parts of Malmo are unquestionably ghettos and you are told as international students specifically to AVOID THE AREAS. The rise in anti-semitism in parts of Malmo has reached such fervour that Swedes had to have a 'walk a Jew to work day', I wish I was bullshitting you. The establishment has realised these issues, so now migrants are being held in camps in the remote north of Sweden, away from the overpopulated inner cities. A friend of mine did humanitarian work up there and she couldn't believe it, the vast majority were economic migrants not asylum seekers (although they all applied as such). Some were grateful, others found their living conditions to be worse than in their home countries and resented Sweden as a result.
The policy of mass migration is compounded by the nature of the Swedish economy, these migrants are low skilled workers, trying to find entry level jobs in an economy with very few and a high demand for highly skilled jobs. As such, unemployment leads to resentment, disenfranchisement, crime, violence etc etc. Is anyone surprised there was mass gaslighting of cars in 3 different inner cities across Sweden on the same night the other week? (notably missing from the documentary by the way)
It is no wonder people are turning in droves to the only credible non establishment political party. Their establishment has become complacent and careless, exchanging virtue signalling for the long term prosperity of their people and country. PS nice job BBC for getting that Neo-Nazi reference in there to taint the party and "frame the debate", despite the party not having Nazi ties for a long long time.

Also, if you are going to cast aspersions on the claim that rape figures are inflated in comparison to other countries due to Sweden's broad definitions and higher rates of reporting thanks to a culture that is less dismissive of women, you'd do well to provide some evidence to counter the (well evidenced and backed) claims of the Swedish authorities...

It's an easy fix. If you are a refugee:
    1) This is Sweden. This is the culture. By entering the country you agreed to respect its culture and follow its laws. Get them to understand and sign an agreement
    2) If you commit a crime, regardless of colour or creed, you will be punished by the law. This is something Sweden needs to commit to
    3) If you are a repeat offender, you will need to leave and accept the responsibility
To those bored kids, it is unheard of that teenagers can get away with attacking the police out of boredom. They should be punished to the full extent of the law because not punishing is setting an example to others that it is ok to do so.
If they are bored they should be handed a bucket and a sponge and they should remove the grafiti and pick up the garbage for a start. The place looks like a dump.

All European nations have problem with inclusion and racial bias which leads to immigrant populations in European being much poorer due to this. When you don't have money you are more likely to commit a crime. Part of the reason why the US has had so few homegrown terrorist attacks compared to Europe is because they have more inclusive society where immigrants have greater opportunity to make money than in Europe which excludes immigrant with less opportunities.

Dominique Charriere I assume that you are danish. Sweden may have more immigrants then Denmark, but Sweden is better at handeling immigrants compared to Denmark. Just look at statistics. Immigrants in Sweden learn the new language faster, more immigrants in Sweden have jobs etc. In Denmark the immigrants Cost more money since the immigrants need welfare benefits. In Sweden most of the immigrants have a job and they learn Swedish kinda fast. In Sweden and Norway they try to integrate the immigrants into the society. In Denmark they give the immigrants poor living condition so they will go back to their country

And I've never heard a breakdown indicating how many rapes reported in 2020 would not have been defined as rape in 1975; most of the crimes reported in no-go zones are not "date rapes" or anything like them.
